I would say that just means that Caterham haven't decided who will drive the car on which days. This may be because Vitaly Petrov is talking with the team, or it may jsut be because they haven't submitted the paperwork.
Well he's not a driver but I don't think it was worth making a thread just for him - James Key (technical director) leaving sauber to join one of the other teams based in the UK. A bit of surprise to me. I'd like to believe he's going to back to Williams but Lotus looks more obvious as they need all the help they can get.
Also I couldn't help but notice the currently confirmed Caterham drivers are listed as TBA on the Jerez test roster:

Here's hoping.
Perhaps Pedro Diniz could make a comeback as a paying driver...lolSo when HRT were after a young pay driver, what they were really after was an older pay driver with more money.
35 and 41? That's got to be one of the oldest driver lineups for a long, long time.
So now all we're waiting on is news on whether Vitaly will buy out Trulli.
He doesn't have the money. Vitaly Petrov is believe to be the only driver who can take Trulli's seat.Perhaps Karun Chandok will buy out the seat and suprise us all?
Giedo van der Garde has joined Caterham. Now, we just need Petrov to find the money to buy out Jarno Trulli.
He certainly seems to think so:

Though with the team moving Ricciardo to Liuzzi's car for the weekend to give Karthikeyan "lead driver" status, one has to wonder if they didn't deliberately hold him up in the pits so that Karthikeayn could finish the race ahead of him.
Trulli's contract can be bought out. Why would so many stories link drivers to his seat if that wasn't possible?Trulli has a contract
No, Trulli is just insisting that he is still relevant to the sport. And what do you mean by "Lotus"?it seems that both Trulli and Lotus are intent on keeping each other.
Jules Bianchi is already there. Where have you been? The only thing I see Vitaly recieving now is a reserve role. Maybe he can set himself up for a drive at Force India for 2013.
Again, where have you been? This isn't "news". It's olds. If you're not going to read the thread, don't bother posting in it.
Which would not offer him any added advantage since the cars were identical. That switched cars because Karthikeyan originally had Ricciardo's car.
Of course there's not going to be any admission from the team. They put an Indian driver in the car for the Indian Grand Prix. They're not going to admit that they held their other driver up so that Karthikeyan could finish ahead of him, because that just looks bad for both them and India.there is no word of them holding Daniel up to make Narain beat him.

Well Caterham, not Lotus sorry, has said that Trulli's seat is open to whoever can pay half his salary, but that was a long time ago. Trulli doesn't want to go anywhere. No, Trulli is just insisting that he is still relevant to the sport. And what do you mean by "Lotus"?
So I missed the fact that Bianchi is at Sahara. Sorry again.Jules Bianchi is already there. Where have you been?

Then why has Caterham made no move to deny it? There are near-constant rumours that Trulli's seat may be available to the highest bidder. That, naturally, isn't going to sit well with Trulli, and he has commented on it in the past. But despite all this and the supposed validity of his contract, Caterham hasn't said a word about it. This has been going on for months; why is Jarno Trulli the only person saying that Jarno Trulli has a contract. I've heard rumours that Vitaly Petrov has had an agreement in place to take over Trulli's seat for some time, and that he only needs to finalise a sponsor by Tuesday. Just look at the CT01, which has massive blank spaces on its sidepods and so could easily fit in a new sponsor. Or the driver roster for Jerez, where Caterham have not finalised the running order of their drivers. All of this suggests that Vitaly Petrov taking over Jarno Trulli's seat is very possible.Because, as Ardius has said, people love to pick on Trulli whenever he underperforms, even if he has a valid contract, and even if the season starts in just over a month.
Then why has Caterham made no move to deny it?
jcmA source told me that Tom Cruise is in the process of buying out Mark Webber's contract for this season. This source has never lied to me before which makes him reliable. Tom Cruise has already driven a Red Bull car which makes this quite plausible. Red Bull have made no move to deny this rumor. Therefore it must be happening. I'm sure they'll announce it any day now.
I find it interesting that Caterham aren't running Jarno Trulli until Friday at Jerez. Giedo van der Garde is getting a look in on Thursday, which is strange. Perhaps Caterham are giving Petrov every opportunity to get the funds together..
More likely we'll be speculating until Petrov's position - one way or the other - is confirmed. As far as I know, he is the only driver who can buy out Trulli's seat. I haven't heard two words about anyone else. The article RTSolvalou linked to states that Petrov's position hinges on a sponsor committing to him. With van der Garde testing on Thursday and Trulli testing on Friday, it makes no sense for Caterham to draft Petrov into the team after Trulli gets into the car, because they will have largely wasted time with a driver who will not be continuing with the team. So I think that the potential for Vitaly Petrov ultimately hinges on who drives the car on Friday. If Trulli drives, then I'd say his seat is safe until the beginning of the season (though if he does stay with the team, I very much doubt that he will see the season out). If Petrov drives, then it will no doubt be preceded or accompanied by an announcement that he is racing for Caterham in 2012 (again, it makes no sense to put a driver in the car if they are not going to race). And if Kovalainen or van der Garde drive on Friday - which I think is unlikely - then I'd say the whole affair is still open and Petrov is still negotiating to drive for the team.are people going to be speculating on Trulli till Australia qualifying?
^Yeah, Petrov to Caterham
