so far i am very happy that i decided to get this game. i will try to keep it short....

i haven't progressed much as i am trying to make this game last me a long time. I was surprised to get the legendary motors pack with my regular copy of the game, and also a bunch of in game reward cars for having played the first, even though i dropped it long before wild run even came out. so i decided the fairlady would be my starter car. i had to do a couple races in the m2 to get the datsun up to 80, but then it was me and my z all the way. i have "driven" from race to race only using fast travel to get to the house and back, or to get to the last race i did in my previous game session.

riding my Indian from Vegas to NY was awesome, taking my boat from Detroit to Miami was equally beautiful. i even flew from Miami to NY and loved it. i will certainly spend most of my time in cars and boats as i am not that into aircraft but i still enjoyed it. cruising across the map is a big part of what this game is for me, be it by land sea or air. its the journey not the destination.

anyway, back to the game to earn another 2400 followers or so and get famous to unlock the next set of street races......

I should take my Harley cross country sometime.

@Dairyworker

I got all the reward cars too and went straight for the Z as well, and is also found it horribly under powered. But with some race grinding and exploring to find Live rewards (parts), I had the performance well over 130 in no time, now it's topping out at 200 mph, 0-60 time is around 3.8 secs. Loving this car, I drive everywhere in it, well that and my starting 2015 Mustang. Right now I'm throwing all of my left over performance parts into the Lotus Evora, another one of the reward cars and starting to drive it a fair amount as well. I haven't even touched most of the other cars yet.

I cant remember what mine is up to now, 170 ish, and yeah i love driving around in this car. I am throwing my extra parts into the indian so i have a good bike to ride when i feel the mood and from there the 69 camaro is getting parts after that. So i guess i am building a few things at once lol

Anyone else not able to set thier favorite car, mine keeps reverting to the mustang???

The Z does start out slow but then it seems to pick up more top speed than other cars in its discipline. There are a few SR cars I regularly upgrade as I collect parts, and the Z is the only one up near 200mph (196 currently). Only appropriate for what many fanboys might want to do with the car. :) I've got a secret I want to share regarding that, but when I get back to the game later today I want to investigate to see if there are alternatives I haven't located yet.

The third gear burnouts get out of hand in this game
That reminds me...

PSA: If anyone hasn't found it already, in the Performance menu where you apply parts, there's a button to access Pro Settings (touchpad on PS4). That's where you can tune your cars and also tweak or turn off assists like traction control (which are "global" settings for each discipline). 👍

So far, in every discipline, I've got the traction control and ESP sliders to zero, with ABS and Slide Help at 50%. Disabling TCS and ESP made a significant difference to how much I enjoy the Street Race physics, but yeah, you gotta mind the throttle a bit without TCS. :)

Only sometimes, and sometimes it only resets to the Mustang one time upon booting the game. It seems to be a glitch related to the delivery of the TC1 rewards, which I get a notification about every time I play. Restarting the game might help.

Yeah I've been playing with that as of late. What is ESP, exactly?

On a side note, my 240z can burn out from a deadstop in 3rd gear, and it can become quite ridiculous.

It's one acronym for stability control -- Electronic Stability Program. That it was unclear is why I've always thought it's a misnomer compared to SCS (Stability Control System) or ESC (Electronic Stability Control). :)

So here's the "secret" I promised earlier. Tokyo Xtreme Racer or Wangan Midnight fans should check out Dallas, because it has a beltline freeway loop that has the right vibe to stand in for Tokyo's C1 loop in this game. There's only one interchange where you have to pay attention to which ramp you take (northeast corner), making it good for laps of Tokyo-style highway racing. :)

There's also the convoluted freeway system in LA, and Detroit, where I found a place to loop around but you end up on city streets and pass through a speed trap challenge.

Sometimes when night falls I fast-travel to Dallas for a couple laps, to see if there's anyone around I can lure onto the highway. :)

It's nice to hear that the physics have improved over the first game. Though, I don't like the sound of the AI still rubberbanding like crazy; the rubberband AI in the first game (that I've been playing recently) has been driving me crazy. I was hoping that the developers would fix this.

I'm now looking at the car list and am pleased to see that they kept Ruf even after adding Porsche. That is still rare these days to see both makes in the same game. The car economy has seemed to improve a bit aswell, I don't see the RX-7 being priced too high now; very nice! 👍
However, it still seems to be somewhat wacky with cars. Why is the Saleen S7R half the price of the Regular S7 for instance? Why are drift variations cheaper than the regular cars? This makes little sense to me. Most cars seem to be over 100k still, that's just ridiculous.

Considering how much you make per race and how short most are, you could get 100k in about 6-10 minutes.

Just a heads up.

After playing the game for a week, I still have a lot to do.

So far, I’ve only finished the Street Racing portion of the game, which is only a quarter of it. I’ve still got the Hard version of each event to do, the achievements I haven’t gone out of my way to get yet, and all the vehicles that I want to try. I think I’ll have enough to keep me busy until the first content update in September.

Me and @SolidSnake7735 drove on that. Quite fun and I can see the resemblance. I need to make TXR liveries, doubtful if they’ll get popular, but I’ll try

Wow... just wow...

The final race for the Off-Road Discipline was a hair pulling, nose bleeding, head sweating holocaust. Sure it took me only 3 attempts to win it, but Wade's X-Class is OP. I was lucky that my KTM was light enough and quick enough to beat him.

Tuck wasn't as bad though, and now I got me a heli :)

That makes my TXR fanboy heart all a flutter.

I had to watch a vid on how to do that race with a car. Was probably the hardest event in the game. I dunno about you, but some of it I felt he had a huge boost rate at the end. I used a X Class Merc and man I wished I’d used the bike instead, but it’s done now.

It was quite easy for me right up until the last half-mile. I would usually have a huge lead on Wade, a good 200-300 yards, but then he would be rubber banded extremely hard and get in front of me.

I tried the Jeep and X-Class with the highest parts I had, but they couldn't keep up with him. I think the bikes are a bit better for these races.

Beating Wade was annoying -- most of all for being a cakewalk for 90% of the race until he climbs that hill like a rocket -- but on the subject of that race...
...what is up with that inane pre-race drama that came out of absolutely nowhere? :odd:

It's not anything I can't get over, but this game's writing is excessively out of touch and often non sequitur, to the extent that it actually perplexes me. I'm glad we can mute the voice acting.

Just a tip for you guys that are into creating liveries.
The game has a limit of 20 editable livery slots, after that you cannot create more liveries without deleting one of your existing liveries.
So when you're done with your design, share it. This way the game will create a new non-editable slot for it when uploading it to the servers, now you can delete the one you're able to edit to free up it's slot and create more designs.
And also you won't lose your design when you share it, since it is a whole new design slot the game treats it like any other user design or exclusive design. The only difference is that it doesn't take one of your livery slots.
Just be sure that you're 100% happy with your design before sharing it, because after is uploaded you can't delete it from the server or edit it anymore.

Beat Tio in the Street Racing Discipline. Wasn't as bad as the Off-Road one, only two tries. My Koenigsegg and NSX are both good cars, but I just need to learn to stick the landing on jumps. And for some weird reason, on my first attempt, I took a ramp but it acted like I hit a wall and slowed me down completely.

Grrrgh, I broke down and decided to buy the 2nd game after playing the first game. I found the original fun enough and after hearing about the improvements; I decided to give it a try.

Alright, my first report.

I like the improvements to the economy, being that I actually get 9,000 bucks from each of the first races is already an improvement over The Crew 1's in-game economy. The lighting so far looks better along with the car models. The additions of Boats and Planes are interesting, I can imagine some fun being had with them.

I don't like the altered controls, I can't understand the mindset of developers that change controls of a game through the sequel. They threw me off at first. Using the plane for precise tasks has also proven to be frustrating.
