The planes were tricky at first for me, but I changed the altitude buttons from Right Ctrl and Right Shift to X and Z and it feels more controllable.

To note, I'm playing the Xbox One version. I'm also referring to just steering the thing in general, it's hard for me to do precise things such as that photo op with the Eiffel Tower replica. I crashed countless times trying to steer the plane under the tower while upside down before finally getting the picture. I mean, just flying around is quite fun, but doing precision things with it is annoying.

Anyway another thing annoying me was how you restart a race in this game. I don't like that pressing "y" on my Xbox One controller is how you restart a race versus pressing the start button. On every racing game I have played, it's always been press start and then hit "reset" on the menu.

Question: Can I remap the buttons on my controller on the Xbox One version? I'm looking at the control map screen right now and it isn't giving me an option to select.

From when I last played you can't do it on any version except PC.

I have the PS4 version.

Well, that really sucks.

Also, the rubberband AI is already annoying me and I just started playing hours ago. I can only imagine it'll get worse.

Oh yeah, I know how that feels, once you get to the Hypercar Races it just gets a bit hard. Even on Normal it's a whole other ball game with the rubberbanding. The collision system doesn't help either.

I thought the rubberbanding in the first game was bad, this beats it.

However on a positive note, I still love the fact they improved the currency system; it's taken me way less time to start buying cars I want than in the first game. The first Crew has been such a slow grind with the only saving grace being the crate delivery challenges giving me fragments to work towards cars I want. The second game however, I am really surprised with how much easier it is to earn money. Earning 15k just buy taking pictures of things, remarkable. I just bought a Saleen S7R and am about to try the touring car races.

Once you reach Icon level, you can get points for perks like more cash and followers. You would need a LOT of points to max everything though... and I'm only at Icon 15.

..I've got a couple of comments I want to get off my chest now that the new-game-novelty has kind of worn off.

It's already becoming so much of a grind that I find myself barely playing. Bucks and all is alright for now (probably because I'm not too fussed about anything other than cars for a start. Also Gold Edition + Rewards Program), Followers is where it's at. I'd always given up on reaching full Icon 999X level - much in the same way I've given up on reaching Rank 8000 in GTA Online, and that's been five years in the making - but I've not even made it to 150 and I'm about ready to quit until the grind - as if by magic - goes away. Sure, the Icon Points thing essentially makes it all a matter of snowball effect, but what about the part where you aren't already a high enough Icon level that ranking up is a matter of seconds? I don't know about the rest of you, but this ground feels fairly flat to me.
It's the classic issue of of-this-limited-selection-of-things-to-do-some-are-significantly-better-to-grind-than-others. Then you do that until it eventually burns you out. And then *that* snowball takes off like a rocket. Which is a huge shame, because the rest of the game is actually competently put together and certainly could make for good entertainment. The whole experience is just overshadowed by a massively tedious progression system. And, if we're being brutally honest, the Icon Points do nothing to help that.
Sure, you'll eventually get to the point where it's essentially a race-once-win-double situation and the grind becomes fairly acceptable. But, if we assume there's a fixed 10,000 Followers between Icon levels (and thus 30,000 between every time you get to upgrade your Comfort - again, the name really says all, doesn't it?) and you'd start out earning Icon levels, that's 30.000.000 Followers. It doesn't help, of course, that there's only so many events to do, and that they each are only so different. You can only do so many races in the same handful of cities until it really gets repetitive and you start questioning your sanity. Remember The Crew 1, where the map basically looked like someone'd thrown darts at a board and there be races wherever they landed?

There are ways of alleviating this. They could go the Payback route of either doubling the rewards or cutting the criteria in half. They could sprinkle it with the GTA Online route of offering double rewards on certain activities at certain times. They could be bastards and go the "live services" route and offer "booster packs" and all that cancer. Maybe the new rareness level coming in September has perks like a 50% increase to Followers. Maybe there's a daily login bonus kind of thing coming. The point is it's not un-saveable, but just too much in its current state.

And, just so none of you do it after I click the "Post Reply" button - I get that there's a certain "sense of pride and accomplishment" angle to this. But let's be real for a second; there's gameplay and there's grinding. There can be such a thing as too little gameplay. But there cannot be such a thing as too little grinding.

My next criticism for this game are the load times, it at times takes a while to load up photo mode or just the pause menu.

For positives, I'm glad to see that it has a full-on livery editor this time around; it makes me excited to see what liverys I can make or download for the cars. Especially with the race cars I haven't seen in a while such as the Saleen S7R, I actually just made my first livery with this car that resembles this one:
0108_MTRP_01_ih_MTR.jpg

I hope someone replicates the livery from the 2001 Le Mans race.

I apologize if this has been answered, but is there anyway to change the cars on display in the garage?

I did some math and you would need at lease Icon 650 to have all the /25 maxed out.
Then the rest is just the 4 that don't have limits.

I've only got the main floor to work. When I change a vehicle on another floor, it defaults back to the previous car upon exit :(

Same problem here. Also, is there homes other than the one in miami, and how do i get them? I am getting really sick of starting i miami all the time...

I was actually tempted to buy this, but I got the Mercedes AMG GT GT3 instead.

One issue I have with The Crew 2 is not being able to sell vehicles. There are vehicles I simply do not want to keep, or vehicles I want to exchange for something better. The fact I have to grind for every single vehicle I want to buy is a pain, as most are quite expensive. I have a heavily underrated powerboat and I would want to purchase a better one in exchange, but I am unable to do so.

One gripe that I have is that you can can't have multiple of the same car (not the ones within a different discipline). It would really be great if I could do that. I could keep different vinyl designs per car that I want to make things easier.

And you can probably get up to Icon 9999 as the max. So you'll have plenty of extra points to spend.

From the leaderboards people have made it pretty high on the ICON list. 15,000,000 followers. That's quite a lot of play time.

^^^ Yep, the photo mode to load up does take a while to get used to compared to other games where it is instant, as it is loading the live footage at the same time so you can rewind (great if you want to take a few photos, but on PS4 accidentally hitting left D pad button so many times in error then for it to take a while to upload to photo mode is a little frustrating :boggled: but I will hopefully get used to it)

Only $13k-$19k per race/event is taking me ages to grind to even get $100-150K for a basic car and I need $290-$400k each for most the cars I want (another 16-25 races extra per car I want over $300k). Is there any other way or tip from you guys to earn more dollars quickly? This grinding will get to me soon enough and I will end up coming back to it in a few months or I will probably then just wait for the season pass cars to come (and hope you do not have to grind for those like the last Crew while they sat in your garage locked :grumpy:).

Overall I am quite enjoying the open world freedom and cruising, and the nice change of pace to planes, bikes, & boats and taking photos for the time being.

I'm still only on Famous Level after all these races:yuck:

You need to do the events for big money. Apparenty The Accident race event in the Street Racing category is the most lucrative since it gives you 28k for a 2 min race. I'm doing mostly the Lattrell's car part 1 in the Hyper Car. You can get more than 90k (perks and car parts) for a 8 min race. But the easiest way would be just doing the Photo OP. You can do them right from the start and you can get more than 1,300.000 Buks for doing them all.

The Accident Huge Shortcut

From Reddit, I have here a list of recommended events to farm in each discipline:

Street race: The Accident (best paying event: an impromptu time trial that pays 30k per 3 mins in Hard, but is cars only, sorry bikers). Alternatively for a proper event, go for The Strip South
Drift: LA Harbor (I'm more of an Airport Terminal guy, but this one in Hard requires only 50k points I think. Quick pro tip: go to Professional Tuning (I think that's what it's called) and reduce the grip of your tires (front and rear) to 50 % ish. Also: my drift car is WAY under the recommended rating, but it's still pretty easy to do)
Drag Race: Tweak and Shout (shortest Drag race, but featuring unskippable dialogue from Hiro)
Hyper car: Latrell's car Part 1 (pretty hard due to winding forest roads and abrupt interstate exit changing, but finishable in half the time for similarly paying events)

Aerobatics: Push It To The Limit (3.5k points to win in Hard, doable with a PR 100 plane)
Jet Sprint: Maine Highlands Cave (quick, quicker when you get used to the boat's handling)
Monster Truck: definition of insanity Wreck and Havoc (the only event worth farming in this class, because its the only race. And Vaas reference)

Rally Raid: Bayou (do it with a car/truck/buggy, not a bike thanks to the swamp slowing them down, VERY EASY, even on Hard. My F-150 was PR 70 when I first did it)
Moto Cross: White Mountain (only do this when you want to upgrade your bike)
Rally Cross: Central Valley (haven't farmed this yet)

Power Boat: Uber Dam (1m40s per run, but you have to reach 1m25s for Hard, which is super hard)
Touring Car: Both Jersey tracks and Giants Everyzon. But if you don't mind driving it, go for the 300 SLR event.
Air Race: Daytona (haven't farmed this yet)
Alpha: Jersey City (be sure to learn the cars of this class)

Other tips I can think of..

- When going for a Hard, try doing it when your vehicle's recommended PR is about 15 under.
- Photo Ops are easy money, but only if it's, say, not something that requires another player or relating animals.
- If you already have the performance, equip blue or pink parts with Bucks gain modifiers.

There is a home in LA which is exclusive to season pass owners. However, there are an additional 3 houses which can be found in Las Vegas, Detroit and New York. Right now none of them are available but they could be part of future updates.

Thanks @SomePlayaDude @strela re: Grinding $ ^^^ I will give the Accident race a few goes later :sly:, and try for some more photo shoots! I look at this game ( and all open world games) long term anyway with breaks in between, as there is usually an overload of events and too much to do initially. I just thought I might be missing some easier way of getting cars 💡

I figured this isn't a thing yet because the game just came out recently, but I really think the sooner daily/weekly/monthly challenges are a thing, the better. In terms of post-launch single player activities, Forzathon in Horizon 3 sets the benchmark (especially in the first few months) so I'm hoping TC2 offers something similar.

I have no doubt The Crew Hub page will be updated regularly, so keep an eye out for something new to do!

Not a lot of playing time.
AFK Ground Drift.
(People on PC have been using Macros)

Okay, I want to talk about this game's economy again, because I still find it pretty wacky. It's better than the first game for sure, but the pricing of cars is still silly. A Ruf CTR 3 is only 40k more than the RK Coupe, the Zonda R costs less than the Zonda F, the Renault Megane RS is nearly 200,000 bucks, the Honda Civic Type R costs over that, all the while the Ford Mustang GT 5.0s cost the same, and a 1967 Shelby GT500 is cheaper than either Hot Hatch I mentioned.

So here I am with a few problems I've noticed on PC — the visuals are...lacking. It's great to look at, don't get me wrong, but a good deal of the details are marred with jagged, blurry edges. Then there's the draw distance... :yuck:

Why this game only uses Temporal AA (and FXAA is the only option in-game to boot!) is beyond me. Likewise for the apparently awful screen space reflections. It's as if their intentions were 100% "How can we make details as smudged and blurred of a mess as possible?"

Thank you, I was wondering about this ever since I found the home in NY by flying over it. I did not know about the LA home/season's pass, I presume that is available now (if you buy the pass)?

I played this game a ton over the weekend, made star level and bought my first vehicles with in-game money, needed a MX offroad motorcycle so I bought a Kawasaki first, then a Gee Bee, the Air Racing version (AR) so I could do those events, next was a Nissan Skyline (SR) just because I wanted one, and finally a Ruff 3400K Dragster so I could unlock those events. I had well over 600k now I'm down to 100K. I want to by a new Power boat next, there is one I have my eye on. Luckily you seem to make money pretty fast in this game. Really loving this game so far, can't seem to put it down.

My only complaints so far are not being able to fast travel to certain road/places on the map like you could in the first game, and I do miss being able to unlock roads. I also miss the wrecks as well, those were features they should not have removed imo. And lastly, what is the point of doing Skills now other than % progression and bucks. I miss getting parts from those.

Correct. Bear in mind the interior design will be the same the original home space - although you get a different view outside.
