book mark your own stupidity since you have poor comprehension. I didn't say it will average 7.5.... i said THEY will give it a 7.5 max and yes IT ONLY DESERVES THAT FROM WHAT WE SEEN.

Could you be any more stu*id? (sorry mods, i had to say it, and i did put a star there). So you are basing your opinion on this douche who probably doesn't even know how to drive a real car? I bet PGR4 was the most realistic driving game he ever played.. and you will let HIS score make your mind about the game? 👍

LMAO, dillusional. We'll see how laughable your emo BS is come wednesday. It won't get 7.5 because some emo internet baby said so. Lets make a wager if im right, you have to put "Mastorofpuppetz is a gaming god and owns me" in your sig, If im wrong I do the same? Come on EMO, what say you?

WOW... I see that guy isn't the only one with poor comprehension problems... Did i say his score would change my mind about the game? please show me where I said that.

And his points about the game are valid the off the wall weird music to the poor modeling of most tracks/cars to the lack of damage very long load screens ect.. definitely not what many were expecting.

Yet everywhere I read raved about tracks? Funny how you ignore a tonne of features that are well done, and dwell on one or two, hidden forza troll? Load times? Could care less unless there extreme. When racing last thing on my mind is load times. Not what many where expecting? Like who? You talk for many now? By many you mean emo's who had way too high expectations for a video game? Then yes.

i really don't get why people think this game has long load times.. i think from what i've seen it looks like its aroung 15-20 seconds? now battlefield 2.. THAT was a game that had looong load times, it could take several minutes even on a great pc to get in a game lol

Damage is a nonfactor if brakes and tire pressure cant be efficiently tuned.
The cosmetic stuff ive seen is fine though. When I play FM3, getting both mechanically an cosmetically damaged is only a nuisance anyways.

Yes damage is part of racing. But racing is not about damage.

So long as the driving dynamics of the game are good, I could care less about aesthetic damage as long as mechanical damage or a penalty system is implemented (mostly to stop other "ricers" from attempting to ruin online). I'll spend my time crossing the finish line in the fastest time possible while others can be in the back of the pack playing crash test dummies.

Precision and accuracy are required please. Aim for gold on the License Tests and Events. That's what GT has been putting to practice since '97.

PS. I have nothing against aesthetic damage, it would look great. But it is not a make or break decision for me.

there is no damage in GT5 apparently... All i can think of is that damage wasn't finished and they released it and will patch damage in later.

There is damage, but it's extremely limited compared to other racing games out there. I always bring up about 3 years ago when they said there would be no damage in this game, then suddenly 2 years ago they said there would be, so it's obviously something that was tacked on relatively late in the process.

If they had been working on damage for 5 years there's no doubt it would be better than it is. Something is better than nothing, but for a game that claims to be a SIM, with Sony commercials running saying it only does everything, well that's not exactly true, it's not a true sim and it doesnt do everything.

That's kind of like "blue is part of a rainbow but rainbows are not about blue".

Sure that's true... but it's not relaly a rainbow without blue is it?

Turbidimetry can affect the colours you see of a rainbow, as it can affect the colours you see in the sky as well. I am in a Chemical Engineering program if you need reference. No Wikipedia here.

Sure the game is about racing, but if someone rear ends me doing 100mph, shouldnt I be unable to finish the race?

GT has never been a real racing sim. It's a hybrid sim/arcade game. It's nowhere near as hardcore as PC sims are, on any level. In some of those PC games if you take a shot from a car doing even just 40mph, you're gonna have a real tough time finishing that race, which is exactly how real cars are.

I rear ended someone doing 35mph in my honda accord a few years ago, the car wouldnt move an inch after that. These game are not realistic at all, they are made so that anyone can play them, they are not simulators. They have some sim aspects, but to think they are realistic is ridiculous.

The damage system in this game is just something there to add SOME realism, but if you're expecting it to be true to life, well the result is some of the posts we're seeing here, people expecting something the game couldnt deliver.

It's been said before, but yes, this x 1000. GT is not meant to be a hardcore sim (although im sure it's physics are very good), it is designed to appeal to a broad audience. In that respect I think GT does what it sets out too very well, and I like what I have seen so far from the damage, I just really want to see some kind of mechanical damage we were promised.

exactly thats what gamespot was basicly saying you can ram your way to the finish he said he rames the cars first turn to get into the lead early... sim games you don't/can't do that but arcade games on the other can can. So i agree gt isn't a sim its to in between to be called a sim or an arcade racer

I love it... when it comes time to justify missing eliments it's becaue GT is a sim and isn't some arcade game, but when it's time to justify others, GT is not a sim, it's half arcade :sly:

Good call, 100% realism is not the goal, the thrill of driving and racing is the goal.

And I agree that damage is needed, as is dying in a platforming game, to increase the tension and thrill as well as make you drive more realistically. But yeah 100% real damage would turn lots of people off.

The more I think about the level up damage system the more it makes sense as a way of leading people into more challenging race craft.

As much as I hope that there will be some patch/update on release day that will unlock some magical elements of the game and fix the damage modelling, etc. I just don't think this is the case. If all the videos we have seen so far featured NO damage at all then I would think this could be a possibility. But they do feature it.

Also, it just seems like the cars don't 'interact' well on the track with each other like in Grid for example. It's like the physics are amazing as long as you don't bump any of the other cars or the guardrails on the track.

I cannot wait for the game and I'm super psyched about it, but I just don't see some amazing surprise as far as damage coming down the pipeline.

Some guy said it was a patch for the game

There was a patch.

"I think the 1.01 opened the online portion of the game yay

after installing the patch I can now navigate the GTTV too

Also at the start of the game before playing it asked me wither or not I want to install the game, easier for noobs instead of searching for it in the options menus.

Im gonna see what else is there in that patch."

This part is about the online part of GT5.
Here's another quote from this person :P

consider it your facebook page, that's how ridiculously amazing it is.
you can.

* put your personal image in the upper left corner.
* your status comment.
* greetings message.
* your theme color.
* backrgound wallpaper.
* you will receive msgs from friends lists.
* you will receive msgs from people who are interested to be your friends.
* you can change your privacy settings and stuff.
* there is also a section where you give gifts to your friends.
* you can basically tweet too in the community section inside the message board.
* there is a log for people to see what you are doing, unlocked...etc.
* there is mail section to check your inbox, outbox and start new.

that is just crazy.

Before we jump to any conclusions... You have to consider these two things:

A) This is a race-spec car (WRC)
B) This is a premium car
