SO they nerfed Fishermans Ranch.
What will be the new grinding map? ;)
It's still Fishermans Ranch. Fishermans is still the most efficient, it's just more than 2x less so.

(for example, post-update it's still more efficient than Route X was pre-update.)

This is absolutely correct. 850k/hr, give or take.

For wider reference, the hierarchy remains roughly the same, but every method is now less efficient than before - Fishermans Ranch especially so.

One hour worth of racing is now worth less than what the minimum wage is in many countries across the board.

The best way to make money in this game is legitimately just to turn off your PlayStation and get a part-time job instead.

Since PD is reading this forum (aka the bug notification thread), should we not post futur method that is found to make money on gtplanet but rather go to a site where PD dont go ? Same for all stuff we dont want PD to know about ?

They seems to have nerf nearly all races in this thread and I dont think it's a coincidence.

Not worth doing it like that.
All players are connected to the internet and to the PD Servers, so they should always know, what you are doing and how you earn your credits...

Even if it's not found, telemetrics/analytics exist and they very likely know what races are being replayed over and over.

I'm all for nerfing these events, doing the exact same race again and again is mindless and shouldn't be the way we play the game. The problem is they didn't really give us any alternatives, we' re still going to be doing the same events, just for less rewards. The driving/sound/, visuals are excellent and I want to keep playing, but it seems like they forgot to add the "game" part of this video game.

But bugs arent ?
To be fair, it's very simple to track which event is the most popular on average across all players. Certain bugs will cause error messages to be reported to the devs but there are certain bugs or quirks which can cause an issue that is much harder to detect and report back automatically.

That applies for almost every game with MTX.

The legendary cars and luxury cars aren't needed for competitive play.

I know everyone wants the "200$" car, but how many would drive it if we could get all cars for free?

The game makes it a bit more exclusive, and I doubt that many people would spend 200$ compared to the amount lf people grinding a video game.

Absolute nonsense, it did not apply to GT6 nor GT Sport.

It has everything to do with microtransactions and exactly nothing with exclusivity. There's no need to defend PD like this, they do not care about you at all. Only about your money.

Gulp ! I was happy for Monza to see it gain a more decent reward, but they nerfed everything else or close

I understand the idea to nerf FR as it was a very short race for a "big" reward comparatively to all the other races, but they could have leveled the field proportionnaly to the race length (and difficulty) by raising the amounts overall (and lowering a bit FR).

But obviously that's not what they aiming...

Why do they have to nerf anything other than to push you towards micro transactions? If they wanted people to not repeat the same events over and over again maybe don't have such a limited amount of events in the first place or allow custom races to give a decent payout. I get they don't care and they want you to pay for money but the amount of credits you get for the cost is absolutely absurd.

You can.

You just don't buy the game as it is at this time.
Unfortunately, this probably means any future "money grinders" like the 2 laps of Daytona for 70,000 that was revealed on Jimmy Falon will probably be nerfed as well. Or, PD will do a really annoying thing and introduce a good money-making method for two weeks every update and then nerf it. Anyway, I think I'm done with GT7 for a while. Call me when PD removes the microtransactions and makes it easier to make money again.

I'm honestly surprised that PD doesn't have a better way of retaining a specific Credits per hour ratio across all game modes. Sure there are always going to be optimized ways to earn via crowd testing, but most modern games do not have such a drastic variance in their grind ratios.

Hope you're all happy, this is what you wanted.

It was too predictable that Fish Ranch would get nerfed because of how much better it was than everything else. You all cried and moaned that you wanted things more even.

Now they are.

Blame PD all you want, but they're giving you exactly what you asked for.

I don't care about FR, but why the heck they had to lower nearly everything except 2 races which rewards were laughable ? I hope they plan to release other events where we will be able to make more money (even if they are harder or longer)

This was always gonna happen since the WTC 800 payouts were clearly bugged. They just took the opportunity to nerf Fisherman's since, well, it needed a nerf.

The real problem is that everything pays little. Fisherman's is a 3-pepper race but it has no business being the fastest moneymaking method. That should've been WTC 800 Le Mans, or Monza, which are the most difficult races with the fastest cars. Which is yet another flaw of the update. I actually loved to grind Fisherman's since the track is very challenging and it feels satisfying to connect that 3:10.000 lap, but Le Mans Gr.3 appeals more to everyone.

Personally I have no idea why they thought it was a good idea to nerf the pepper races since they're among those that actually require some skill. Harder races should pay more. The Mini Clubman race for example is actually quite difficult without a proper build and it has an AI racer rigged to fight through the pack and win if you don't. This race should pay more, it makes sense for it to. Yet... it was nerfed.

You didn't answer the question, so 1.75m is the absolute minimum? Is 1m\hr not acceptable? Where is the line? 1.75 is the meta because it's the peak, but you don't have to be a meta slave. There's multiple options to make 800ish. I cycled through a bunch to experiment, even repeated some of the championship series to calculate the series bonus.

Eventually I favor max efficiency because I'll have more fun getting into the GR3s I line that I love, so I default back to Fisherman's Ranch.

It's an odd paradox, where they screwed up Online lobbies so bad, that I don't mind grinding the offline races right now. So their screw up ended up benefiting my outlook on the game, which is ironic, but sobeit.

For a solution, if I'm being realistic... 1.75m an hour is too high. I would like to see all end-game events have a $ per mile or minutes ratio that reflected 1m an hour. I think they should alter payouts for PP, so that we could get creative with our challenges, by handicapping ourselves for an award bonus.

Custom races should pay equal to that same $ ratio. Drift trials should have payouts. Online racing should have payouts(I think this is a bug).

I don't think money is currently a problem, so I think the vast majority of complaints are being framed poorly. I think we have a lack of events that payout what would be realistic, combined with 1 event that pays too high, and meta slaves being victim to human nature and "gotta have it now" mentality.

If fisherman's ranch was nerfed to 1m an hour, I'd be fine with it, as long as theynlet us do custom races at any track for any class, that paid equal. And again, a scaling factor for PP deficiency would be cool to incentivize a challenge.
Would love for them to fix the online lobbies, don't mind grinding for cash, but sooner race with friends in online lobbies, pretty boring racing by yourself

Wow so I just tried refunding the game anyway. Turns out because I pre-ordered that counts for the 14-day refund period so no dice there. The operator on the other end immediately closed the chat after saying so.

However, due to the current update apparently breaking the game, a case could be made for a refund if you claim it's unplayable. I can't say it'll work, but it's worth a shot if you bought through PSN.

This was always gonna happen
I agree. I told my friends the same thing, there's no way they intended for 1 race to be nearly double the payout of everything else in the game. Fisherman's ranch was the outlier, and no one in their right mind should have expected them to balance the other 99% of the game, to the 1 outlier. That's just naive. You had to know it was going to be the other way around.

People are upset, even though they got what they wanted. Now you don't have to grind Fish Ranch, you can choose between a handful of options and layouts are all within reason. When servers are up, I'll do some math and share results.

We've had the game for 2 weeks, just doing the bare minimum to get your daily roulette, took 6 Fisherman's Ranch races. This is 18-21 minutes depending on your speed, and gave you nearly 600k every day. That's 8M as of today and not what I would consider a grind. Doing my dailies felt like any typical game with similar mechanics.

We get 3m from the game content, (after required purchases and upgrades) and on top of this you can add 14 roulettes for chances at money or better. I'll ignore those because RNG, but that still leaves us with 11M earned without grinding in 2 weeks.

You only had to buy a single car to progress through the entire career, and 1 truck. Everything else was handed to you and lead you right into the next menu. This leaves people with roughly 11M credits as of today, doing the basics.
