Just thought I'd share that the (unofficial) ETS2 MP mod will go live (in Alpha) on May 1st. You will need the Steam version, but you can activate your serial code with Steam -- as I did. Here's the page for more information. :)

All of the Steam ETS2 users (If you don't have it on Steam, just activate it on Steam with your current code) from GTP needs to have a giant company.

Oh yes... Just like with crews in GTAV, this could work out well I think. Imagine crew battles, "who can deliver the goods the fastest without breaking any speed limit or rules?". That'd be awesome. 👍

Multiplayer is happening @LogiForce! :D

GTP - Gran Transport Power :dopey:

To me multiplayer won't be happening until we can all drive in convoy in a public world. Have some CB type chatter going on and so on. ;)

How is the multiplayer? Can you share companies with friends? I think that would be good fun. Share duties in a co-ownership operation.

I'm up to 33.65% explored now. Just working on paying off 400K worth of loans so then I can start to build up different garages around the map.

I'm also a bit eager to hear something about the multiplayer and if it'll be worth the hassle to uninstall and then reinstall via Steam. :P

I've tried it very briefly, it's good but it takes a while to get into the server as there's only one in Europe, I think. Apparently ETS2 is very popular in Eastern Europe, judging by the names and languages used in the chat.

Is there anyway to copy game save files and take them to a different computer? I'm back in the States visiting my parents, and using their computer to play on. When I move back to Japan, I'd like to take the save file I have on my parents computer back home. Anybody know how to do that?

Copying the contents of your profiles folder (.../Documents/Euro Truck Simulator 2/Profiles/[...]) onto a USB drive (or zip them and upload them to something like Dropbox, Google Drives etc.) should work, yes (along with mods, as @L8erBaby says). Then simply copy the new files into the same folder on the other computer once needed. 👍

Sorry, I ask so many questions.

Anybody ever had an issue where ETS 2 recognizes your H Pattern shifter as controls but, doesn't register when you are driving the truck?

Yesterday my Fanatec GT3 RS V2 shut off while I was on a drive. When I turned it back on, the shifter knob doesn't seem to register when I am driving. When I setup controls, and use it in other sims, it still works no problem. I tried a system restart and it doesn't seem to fix it as well.

Anybody know what is going on?

I had that issue with my pedals. Under the page where you choose your gear (I'm not entirely sure about the location -- but) there should be a check box you should uncheck saying something like "use your control as mouse". It's very annoying indeed.

I can't seem to find a option like that.

Try doing the controls setup wizard again. 👍 I'm not really sure I was having the same problem as you do currently, but the above should work. 👍

Yeah, it's weird. I've tried almost everything I can think of. I may have to email SCS and report a potential bug or something.

Just got back to do some trucking. I noticed a report of mine (send in via pressing F11 in-game) was dealt with. I namely reported that the traffic lights in the Netherlands were wrong.

What was wrong with the lights? Well, everywhere else in the world you go through the following sequence.

Green -> Orange -> Red -> Orange -> Green
Go -> Try to stop -> Stop -> Release brakes -> Go

In the Netherlands however, it's like this...

Green -> Orange -> Red -> Green
Go -> Try to stop -> Stop -> Go

That finally seems to be changed now and the traffic lights work the way they should in the Netherlands. Didn't know it before as I was mostly trucking in Eastern Europe (Austria mainly). Finally got back to Amsterdam just now and noticed this change.

Anyways... just a heads-up for when you guys go trucking in The Netherlands. ;)

Btw. Did anyone of you notice the 'Clutch Range' slider in the Controller Options menu? I set this to about 60%. Feels a lot nicer now, and no more missed shifts. :)

I saw it, but had no idea what it did. I might experiment with it as I missed a few shifts earlier.

I tried ETS2 with the FreeTrack headset I made today, it's surprisingly difficult to get used to but I'm sure it'll just take a little time... The first time I tried looking in my mirrors I managed to drive into a car as I couldn't work out where to point my face to look straight ahead again. That happened twice, actually. I also managed to get a speeding ticket even though I was on a UK motorway doing 55mph, I don't know how it happened but I was a little surprised.

No clue how freetrack works. I use a trackir 5. I have the proclip but prefer the clip for the cap. Since the proclip sits on the left side of your head, when you move your head to the left the lights hide behind your head. The cap clip sits in the middle so it works equally as much left as right.

Oh, that clutch range slider just sets the biting point of the clutch. Hence I put this at 60% as that's where you usually expect to feel something. But yeah, you might wish to change it depending on pedal throw and all that (using CSPv2 here via Bashers CPX).

Oh btw, the UK is notorious for speed cameras. It's nuts over there, though us Dutch folk invented the darn thing... we shot it, burned it, blew it up as well though. XD

Skip Belgium in this video if you don't have the time but... it's funny as ever with Jeremy.

@24:22 there is the speed camera thing coming up.

Oh, don't I know it! Odd that I was snapped and fined at 55mph on the M4, though.

I had a play around with FreeTrack's settings, I think I just had the sensitivity too low and was compensating by adjusting the curves. I've since turned the sensitivity up but set the curves to give me a small deadzone, be less linear with small movements and then snap to the furthest output when I've got my head turned as far as is comfortable. Still a bit tricky, but it'll take some getting used to. The thing is the more I use it, the more convinced I am that eye tracking would be more useful than head tracking! Maybe I should just get on and make the 3 point clip.

Glad you got it fixed.

Being snapped at 55 is odd though. Not on a ring road or bridge?
Odd indeed. Next time just hit F11 and report a silly situation like that. It'll get patched/fixed.

It seems I've missed news messages from SCS; First up there's a free copy of Metallic Paintjobs DLC available.
Secondly and more importantly, some pictures of "a major as-of-yet unannounced ETS2 map expansion DLC" were in the latest news post:

The bridge is - with almost 100% guarantee - Danish. :D

Have you upgrades your garage? After that you can use those two boxes for two more trucks.

The two boxes I have circled in Yellow? I own two fully upgraded fully staffed garages and they are still locked. How do you unlock them?

Can't wait. I wonder if it is the mod with Scandinavia, that they have teamed up with to put in as an official expansion pack.

I am in Italy for 3 weeks right now. And I've got to say, the trucks look so much better in person.

The screenshots of Scandanavia look great but I'm very much in love with Promods map which covers that region too. Looks like I'll have to make a choice soon ! :)

The metallic paints are great. I have played around with a few styles , the possibilities are huge ! (Love the circuit board pattern)

Has anyone seen the rabbit in game ? I was driving down a small road in a French Forest at 3.30am when it ran across the road in front of me !! I did some research , it's not from a mod and may have been added with the going east dlc.

Pretty cool :)

I'm thinking of getting this game since the collectors bundle is on offer on Steam.

You get Euro truck simulator 1 and 2, going east DLC, 3 paint job packs and Scania truck driving simulator all for £15!
