^ I've been trying to find routes which get me on a 787, but no such luck yet...it would have to be a cross-country flight.

For now, spotted a 737-900NG this morning in Delta's colors; apparently, they've only been in their fleet for a few months. Been on them before with United Airlines, and they have nice interior lighting, but less legroom in coach overall.

I would love to fly on a 787 as well. Need to find a reasonably priced transcontinental route that I would be going on anyways.

But yeah, the Delta 900ERs are quite new. I remember when a few of them were rolling out of the factory. There's a good story about one of those 737s.

Those are much better than the photos I took of a local air show this past weekend. 👍

Thanks!

Now post yours, I raise you another 10 pics :D

edit;
And a short video I shot, though it was very windy and unfortunately my microphone with a dead cat is not that aerodynamic so it was pretty damn hard to keep it stabilized. =(

Nice shots Brett. Wish we could get a bit closer to static planes. So far I could only get close to some choppers.

Love that B1 Lancer. Great variety of planes over there!

There was also a C-17 Globemaster available to tour, along with a KC-10 or KC-135 opened up to tour. There might have also been an E-3 AWACS open to tour also. The group I was with did not want to stand in the long line for the tours.

The bomb bay doors were open to walk around and look around in on the B-25 and B-52. That was a neat experience. The B-25 bomb bay was tiny compared to the massive B-52 bomb bay.

There were also a fairly large variety of military propeller aircraft, including a P-51D Mustang, on display, but I failed to grab any pictures. Pretty much everything was available to walk right up to.

That's awesome!! I wouldn't mind waiting for a tour  A C-17 and KC-135 is seriously cool.. (Cartman voice) Screw you guys, I'm taking this plane!

B-25 and B-52 is nice too, you didn't take any photos? :guilty:

Some more photos from Monday:

On the left you can just see an F16 landing

Yeah I've been doing the same for my next trip to the US, I want to go to Japan on the way through so been checking Japan-USA 787 flights, shouldn't have to much issues when I am ready to book.

No pictures of the bomb bays. When I was looking around in them, I did not think to take any pictures. :irked:

A few weeks ago I flew to SFO in a Delta 737-900NG. It was one of the nicest planes I've ever been in (which may not say too much going by Delta's cabin standards). I was in economy comfort so the legroom was no issue.

Their newest craft in Economy Comfort have lots of legroom...767s, 757s, et al are desirable. But their average MD88 or A319 offers an extra inch or two, tops. Usually, they're not used for anything over two hours, so it's not a big deal...just nicer being close to the front when you have a 37 minute layover.

I came across this today and thought it was interesting. This F4U Corsair was flown by Honduras's air force and is the last piston aircraft to score an air-to-air kill in combat.

It was against either a P51 Mustang or one of two other Corsairs. In 1969. Kinda cool knowing these things were still being put to good use over 20 years after the war they were essentially replaced by jets.

F-16's all in a row!

Can anyone guess the formation?

The UK need to purchase a bunch of these when the Hurcs retire!

The Italians brought the style all day with the EF, C27, something else, and the Tricolor. Great display, loved the colour.

"Can anyone spare a Jug of oil?

1st Lt. Edwin King’s and his blackened P-47 after its main oil line was cut by enemy flak.

While strafing enemy gun positions near Brescia, Italy, King took return fire that severed his oil line. The R-2800 engine kept on chugging despite losing every drop of oil, which streamed over the airplane and coated the fuselage and canopy.
Since he could no longer see forward, King flew in formation with his wingman all the way back to base. The engine finally seized up while he was on final approach.

The mission was this Thunderbolt’s 110th—and last—combat sortie."

So it's confirmed, F35B won't be making either of its British debuts :( The return to flight includes instructions to check the main fan every 3 hours, not practical on a 6 hour transatlantic crossing!

Shame as I've already attended RIAT and I'll be at Farnborough too, but there'll be a Spanish Harrier and the Vulcan so i cant complain!

That's too bad, we already have a few here and a few more destined, I just need to quit being lazy and go to one of the local air shows to see it more up close rather than on a far off test flight.

You do! VTOL aircraft are fantastic regardless of the airframe!

I saw them almost every day when I lived in Yuma, AZ because our Marine Air Station has tons of Osprey and Harriers, so you'd drive by the base and see one or two taking off vertically or landing for practice purposes. Then last year in January they started to take the first F-35s into their inventory to replace the Harriers, and Luke Airforce Base here in PHX is suppose to be a training school for the F-35 and replace the F-16s.
