There is absolutely NO denying that Redline is the most important anime film to come to the West in a good decade.

Now admittedly, I haven't watched Redline in its entirety. I only watched the opening race, which had some cool over-the-top animation and one smokin' hot babe, but was just "eh whatever" otherwise. Or in other words: 95% style, 5% substance. And I'm willing to bet that it's 95% style and 5% substance all the way to the end too. Maybe substance will kick up to 10-15%, but still.

Worth watching? Yeah sure, if only just to see some cool and unique animation.

Great, important or in any way game-changing? **** no.

Steins;Gate > Redline

Like I said though, I haven't seen it yet. I'm just basing my judgements on the opening scene and what I've heard about it, so take my opinion with a pound of salt.

[B][color=#E42217]The substance stays the same. That opening race was freaking awesome and the rest of the movie is never as cool as that. It is way over-the-top and has some sweet animation though. I don't think it's worth a purchase but if you can watch it on Netflix or something and you're bored, go for it.

I thought it was funny and all, but near the end I must have bursted free from its grasp and realized how pointless that show is.

Redline is really quite good.. though storyline for me, a bit so-so but not bad, agree with AOS, the artwork is very good with the heavy use of black shadows etc.. though what impresses me more is that it's all hand drawn cells.

PS, sorry for not responding to posts (suggestions etc..) it's hard to keep on top of in such a fast moving thread).
