You'd justify it by saying "When it goes out of print it'll be 2,000,000 yen... screw dat. And I don't wanna miss my chance to get ahold of it, so I gotta!"

I doubt any anime would ever go that high in Japan from sellers. GTO's price is the highest I've ever seen for an OOP anime (I've seen people offer that high before, but that was on the high end, not the low end for new or used. 200,000 yen is the cheapest you can get GTO from those sellers.). When you go past $1,000 (Or in the case of 2,000,000 yen, over $24,000.), that's where many otaku start to really back out. Your example would be more than half the amount of money they make in a year.

I'm like how they actually blended story and silly together so well in this episode. We got to see Araragi grope his sister, Shinobu splooging over donuts and generally being cute, Kaiki being mysterious(and he told Araragi who those people were), Tsukihi being immortal and Araragi going crazy.

Kick ass time management.
