The GTP Rolex Sports Car Series S4! Polar And Mustard Champs!

I wonder how DP would cope with 500bhp. Can you imagine the handling?

It would be awful. Car wouldn't be fun to drive. I don't think I want to only be 5 seconds a lap faster than gt.

I think 560-580hp with the current weight is great. Car still has plenty of power to be a lot faster on the straights than the GT's and still break the tires loose for those who think that's 'fun'. I don't see how that's fun to drive. A car that slides is drifting. That's the opposite of what you want on a race car.

We might as well run skid recovery force and active steering. The car is actually more stable this year than the group c cars were the last 2 seasons to me.

Okay, I need to say something now...

I can understand what Seth is saying about the Nissan R390 being clearly quicker than IRL DPs, and also how the car has a sizeable gap over GT unlike IRL. I think he's trying to find a middle ground between keeping things fun for everyone while's keeping GT and DP comfortably at arms length and still keeping times in-check. As fun as trying to control a DP with a DS3 is, the fun wears thin when you're doing it lap by lap when a little less bhp can take the edge off and let you focus on competing instead of making it through one lap at a time.

Let's face it, we're not going to whole agree on one thing or another. We want to keep things fun, without losing interest and the element of competition. Let's find a way to put our heads together without cracking a few skulls. 👍

So dropping 20-40hp makes it drive like we have SRF on? Don't act so malevolent.

Well putting Season 2 into perspective, I tested every car in S2 in the wet at Le Mans to gauge the difference in pace, and I think the difference between the other cars (Dodge, Mazda, Chevy) and the Audi was at least 5 seconds at 100%. I'll have to check back in previous threads or retest Le Mans in the wet with these cars. It might be more...

I remember that. It was a massive advantage for Audi if I'm not too bad wrong. I think Mazda was at the most disadvantage.

Seems that I am the only guy who doesn't like this R390......I hate the understeer cars, and this car, at least with my driving style has too much!!

Really? I really like the new car! I can get on the power much earlier, and much more safely slam the gas down and go! Le Mans should be a nice race. I did a couple of laps there this week.

We're in for a great season!

We may have a modified start procedure, pace car until start of musallane (sorry for spelling) with both classes together.

Does this mean the beginning of the straight or the sign that goes over the track right before it?

Also I just heard there is gong to be a Ford DP in the real life series next year but its not going to be based on a real car.

You are correct. It will have ford bodywork. I'm guessing that grand am is starting to go back towards the gtp days where each engine has its own unique body style. Plus we keep the same low cost and relatively even performance that has made the DP rock solid for 10 years now.

Yeah I saw it in the Ford Racing email I got today. I just think that its interesting that its not based on a real car.

"Ford bodywork" means little right now. They have no sports car to base it off, so it'll just be some generic shape and have ford stickers on it. They need a 'Ford GT' type car to base their DP from. Unless they stick some Mustang features on it.

Who cares. Its another example of DP becoming less and less of the "cookie cutter" shape it was back about 2005. I wouldn't be surprised if the car uses ford gt body styling, but I am only speculating here.

More speculation: it wouldn't surprise me if they used the gt90 for styling. That would make an interesting looking car for sure.

I'd love to see BMW leave and Dodge were allowed to come with an engine, Dodge VS. Chevrolet VS. Ford. Just V8 Supercars was with Holden VS. Ford before Nissan came.

Guys pace wise what should I expect from my Audi at Daytona, and what engine parts should I be using? Turbo, filters, etc?

There he is!

All engine and high turbo is a good set up ;)

Not sure about times.

Been setting my car up for Le Mans. I'll run some laps tonight and let you know where I stand. You going to race this weekend?
