BBC Sport Presents....
'60 minutes per hour with.....' with Hake Jumphrey
Hake: So we're here live at the BBC Studio and the Rolex Series has started with a bang at Daytona and what a race it was. Today we have a special guest, he is last season's Rolex GT Class Champion... -Shows montage with Damu kissing the trophy and giving the no.1 hand gesture- That's right! He is Damu. -Cameras point to Damu-
Damu: Sup 🤬!
Hake: Thanks for joining us today Damu, great to have you as our guest on this first showing of this programme. So what's your opinion of this season so far Damu?
Damu: I'm not planning on basing any predictions on what happened in the last race. A lot of incidents happened, especially at the bus stop. Truth be told I think it was too early in the season. OK that's just keeping the organisers happy. In reality, we didn't have any practice in draft, and there's no markers into the bus stop. 🤬 genius!
The competitors, I'll have to be wary. Fuji's next and the organisers know how livid I was about that race in spite of winning.
As for the car, it's a work in progress. I haven't muzzled it as much as I did for the lotus in last year's preseason. I managed to get a real sweet feeling, but a problem with computers led to the set up being lost. It stalled out of the bus stop last week and cost me even more points. It frustrating, but I have to get on with it. I won't hand the trophy over cheaply.
Hake: That has to be said that, many were excited about how you would do at Daytona, despite you publicly said it was your bogey course. Yet again, this theory proved to be true, I hope you'll be able to do it again next time.
Hake: So what is your favourite track for this season's Rolex series?
Damu: Well I have always enjoyed Suzuka with the whacky crowds, the continuously sweeping corners & technical areas.
Spa with the whacky weather, heavy braking zones after the seemingly neverending straights & varying, undulating corner styles.
Monaco with the whacky street course scenario, the highly technical cornering & the fact that it will prove the best chance of overtaking a few of the DP.
Hake: It was brilliant speaking to you and good luck at fuji this weekend!
Damu: Cheers
Hake: Thanks for joining us today on 60 minutes per hour, I'm Hake Jumphrey and I'll see you at Fuji this Saturday 2pm on BBC 1 for the live practice session.
