Georgia is to recount, the difference in votes for Biden/Trump is "less than a small high school". Additionally 8,000 military votes have been delayed and may not arrive in time to be counted.

I don't know if Biden will hit 8 million popular vote lead, however, to add, New York is only at 81% in and Washington is only at 91% in, so there are still good chunk of votes there.
I can do you one better: California is only at 77% complete.

Btw, North Carolina has been quiet and I imagine will stay quiet for a few days but it's still possible for Biden to flip it. Most of the populous counties yet to finish and are favoring Biden. These ballots are undoubtedly absentee, and if they follow a similar trend to GA and especially PA then it could happen. Take a gander at the expanded counties list. Maybe we should start running the math on this to see what is possible.

It's increasingly looking like Biden has sufficient pledge EC votes to be at or near 300, though we know that Trump will protest everything every step of the way.

The inauguration is in ten weeks and five days. Do we think he will have left the White House by then? If not, what's the actual procedure? Trump will have Secret Service protection, and Biden will have Secret Service protection...

We need Aaron Pierce.

By my reckoning, Biden only needs to get about 60% of the ~130,000 remaining votes in Pennsylvania to avoid a recount there, which is looking likely he'll manage.

I think I'm more focused on Arizona. If NV and AZ come in for Biden, then Trump can contest PA and Georgia can recount all it wants.

Honestly I'm not sure anyone knows. I imagine there will be tons of analysis on this as the Trump strategy unfolds.

I am of the assumption that current President, er, trumps former President and as such, while Trump will have Secret Service protection, that doesn't mean he gets to stay just because he wants to.

Trump will be considered trespassing and will be removed from the White House by the Secret Service as he is no longer President.

Arizona just dumped a ton of votes and the needle barely moved for Trump.
It's a good thing that Trump didn't move much but honestly I'm about to give AZ to Trump. It's been trending red steadily. NV has steadily been trending blue when they feel like reporting anything.

NC would just be icing on the cake to prove Trump was full of crap.

I'd assume that... but if it's Trump's detail's job to prevent him coming to harm, and he has a tanty at Biden's detail trying to remove him, on which side of that line do their jobs fall? Do they defend the ex-pres chucking a wobbly, or do they help their colleagues?

I'd guess the latter - that his own detail would arrest him - but if we go to the extremes of possibility (Trump grabs a gun), who do they draw on? I imagine they do have a policy in place (and if they hadn't before now, they've just made one, given the increasing likelihood of Trump refusing to leave).

Last I read, it seemed like they were shooting for November 12th, which is their deadline for all absentee ballots.

edit: North Carolina that is

Although Trump is narrowing the gap to Biden in Arizona, it looks like he's not catching fast enough. The percentage of remaining votes that he needs to win is going up (now he needs 58% of the remaining votes).

Edit: Now he needs 59%.

Not me. I think Biden can still take AZ.

Georgia keeps finding more votes too. I'm seeing another 5000 from Gwinnett County (Biden leaning) reported on NYT? Not sure if this is the previous 4000 or a new 5000.

For those of you who aren't in their late 20's or older, this is a gif from Peddie Pablo's song Raise Up in which he instructs the state of North Carolina to raise up, take their shirt off, and twist it around their head like a helicopter.

*I feel old having to explain that since there are people who are 19 that weren't alive when that song dropped.

They wouldn't toss him out and it's unlikely he can overpower them. They would forcefully escort him out of the White House and away from Biden. If he tried to grab the gun... I'm not sure any court would want to try a former president for an attempted assassination of the sitting president but that could be on the table.

Not wanting to use the same gif twice in two weeks but... I already know what they'll do.

Train may be running out of steam for an Arizona flip. This is Maricopa county again:

Code:
Biden Trump Biden Trump
25128 35911 0.411671 0.588329
31700 42276 0.428517 0.571483
28285 31768 0.471001 0.528999

The last 52.9% ratio is not good enough to flip. It depends on the other counties, but the red ones may not have enough population to overcome this drop in Maricopa.

I won't cheer yet.. The worst is yet to come guys, there will be hell.. But hang in there, it is light at the end of the tunnel :)

For us in Europe this is very big.. For many of us it is actually a question whether we can trust the US in the coming years or not being able to. Luckily it seems it's the former at this point :)

Try being Canadian! I can walk 150 metres from my front door, look to my right ... & the US is about 2 kilometres away. :indiff:

Got any Fleetwood Mac songs you could reference?

You think the apology tour Obama had to make after W was something, the one Joe will have to make will make will be massive. Unless COVID derails it and it will have to be a video apology tour. "We are so sorry that less than half of our voters chose to put the rest of the world through these last 4 years".

Trump campaign strategy:

"Don't stop counting the votes tomorrow
Don't stop, victory will be here
It'll be here, bigger than before
Biden is gone, Biden is gone"

"You can vote your own way
(vote your own way)
You can recount another day"

"Oh I
I want to be voted for everywhere
Oh I
I want to be voted for everywhere
(I want to be voted for everywhere)"
