Meanwhile, Nevada probably will release the results in 2026 and Alaska's results have been eaten by a hungry polar bear.
Alaska made this rule that they don't count absentee ballots until a week after election day because they were like "everybody votes in person and we want our state to be called for Republicans every time". They never banked on 44% of all total ballots to be cast absentee.

It's an unlikely longshot but if Biden gets 80% of the Alaska absentee vote then he could take the state.

Twitter have suspended bannons account.

He wanted horrible things to be done to Dr fauci and that Wray chap. I won't repeat it here.
Just read the CNN article. Holy 🤬 he's off the rails.

I still find it hilarious that the anti-Trump NYT hasn't given Arizona to Biden when everyone else (including Fox) did two days ago.

I won't cheer yet.. The worst is yet to come guys, there will be hell.. But hang in there, it is light at the end of the tunnel :)

For us in Europe this is very big.. For many of us it is actually a question whether we can trust the US in the coming years or not being able to. Luckily it seems it's the former at this point :)

The BBC hasn't either. They tend only to update results when they have been officially called, although it is hard to tell what that really means at the moment.

So everyone already knows this, but I felt like putting a fine point on it. I think I understand what Trump's plan was for how this election was supposed to go down.

Georgia was supposed to be solidly his, so that was in the bag. He was leading PA and had made the case that all mail-in ballots were fraudulent. But the "stop counting mail-in ballots" was no good while Biden was winning the EC, so he needed to hurry-up Arizona while he was still leading PA. The idea was to claim Arizona and then after claiming Arizona, just say that the remaining ballots were fraudulent (everywhere, or just PA, whatever) and have a simple straightforward message to claim that he won. This is why it was important that Arizona count fast, and why he was so angry that Fox had called AZ for Biden. Georgia started throwing a monkey wrench in that plan.

It's actually somewhat remarkable that the EC showed a Biden victory at almost every instant following Michigan and Wisconsin. If it hadn't, I wonder how much stink Trump could have made.

Trump's path to victory at this point requires a re-count overturning a result, or winning Arizona, Georgia, and a toss-out of PA ballots. Doesn't seem particularly easy, but not impossible.

I think it will be a recount. Just gotta hope there's enough that a recount won't do much damage. But as more experienced people on here have mentioned it doesn't tend to change much.
Georgia will be likely be in recount territory. If Biden can create and hold a couple thousand vote gap (and vice versa), then it's unlikely that a recount would change the result.

Aren't there still military overseas ballots (and a lot of them) to come in though?

I mean, assuming Trump wants them to be counted and all. I'm a little lost on what his position on counting postal ballots actually is...
Yay Georgia!

I wonder how many votes are left to count in GA. I gather #maboy clayton county (@Keef) is processed, but actually more votes could continue to trickle in. I would expect most mail-in ballots from just about anywhere in GA to go for Biden... except military ballots. Which as far as I know, they don't have yet.

GA is still a question mark.
There are in Georgia, and other overseas and provisional ballots too. So apparently there were around ~9000 unreturned military and overseas ballots still as of Thursday morning, so even though Georgia was good news, it is by no means a done deal.

It’s over. Now ryzno giving premium to someone will be just icing on the cake!
Georgia is still too close to call. Let's wait until results are finalized and certified by the Secretary of State first.

Is betting against GTP rules? I'll still bet about $3.50 that Biden's lead hits 8,000,000. We're over 4.1 already and California is still only 77% counted.
I don't know if Biden will hit 8 million popular vote lead, however, to add, New York is only at 81% in and Washington is only at 91% in, so there are still good chunk of votes there.

Neither has CNN.

That basically sums up my understanding of his plan, @Danoff. 👍
Fox News reportedly bans its anchors and reporters from referring to Biden as the President-elect...
He hasn't won yet so they shouldn't be calling him that. Banning them, though...

Edit:

A Biden spokesman says that if Biden wins and Trump refuses to concede, “The United States government is perfectly capable of escorting trespassers out of the White House.”

I'm digging the avatar, bud. I don't think I've seen anything but your other and now I can't even recall what it was.

Thanks for that. Current margin is 1579. I'd sure like to know how the 9000 military/overseas ballots breaks down in terms of military/overseas. I'm also really uncertain about how many "regular" ballots are remaining to be counted in GA. They just counted 500 more 14 minutes ago.

Georgia is still too close to call. Let's wait until results are finalized and certified by the Secretary of State first.

Totally agree. Military ballots could really swing it the other way.

I think it had been well over 10 years.

Equivalent to a child crossing their arms, sticking out their lower lip and stomping down the hallway because they don't want to do what you tell them to do.

4,000 Georgia votes left plus an "unknown number" of overseas and military.

Ok that's huge. 1,500 is the current margin, those 4000 are going to add quite a bit to that margin. Of the 9000, maybe some fraction is not military, and so would (presumably) add to that margin. There is a chance Biden keeps it.
