the "just plain ugly" car thread

If its been in here already I wouldn't be surprised. The 300 is hideous. I wouldn't keep the SRT8 300C if it was given to me. I'd drive it straight to a Ford dealer and trade it in on a Mustang GT or to a Nissan dealer and get a 350Z.

Yes. My rant about the RX-8 deserves to go here instead of offtopic in that other thread.

RX-8, worst Mazda ever.

why is it the worst mazda ever :grumpy:
i suppose in stock form it's a little bland but with a few changes here and there its just beautiful.
my dad has one and it is a MUCH better car then the 350Z
i suppose you ever like it or hate it.
but it is DEFINITELY NOT THE WORST MAZDA EVER
thats why it won car of the year and engine of the year :dopey:

Has this already been brought up?

Just because I own one, and don't get me wrong I love it, doesn't mean it's not an ugly car. While looking at it today I couldn't help not help but notice how goofy it looks with it's big headlights and overgrown snout. The ugliness gives it character though.

I always thought that the new car just looked too "soft" and maybe too big compared to the old car.

I guess ownership will make every imperfection stand out.

There are a large number of cars posted in this thread, which I really love... especially new concept cars. They are just some nice unique designs to get away from the dull, boring mainstream.

But I must say, designs like that Geely Coupe Concept… why would they bother making such a thing? I drew more appealing cars when I was 9.

Great panel fit they've got going on there 👍

Still, it's prettier then the Geely 'Beauty' Leopard

Well, the Coupe, definitely is an attempt at American Muscle, what with the strong shoulders and all

The "Beauty Leopard?" JZA80 knockoff with a dodge grille.

That other Geely actually has a nice body... shame about the face, though. Looks like a bulldog hiding in an Audi.

The Beauty Leopard also looks a bit like the Toyota Supra from the rear:

The Beauty Leopard looks like a Hyundai Coupe body with a messed up Toyota Supra lights. :yuck:
Same thing goes to the Coupe. Looks like a Fiat Coupe body with some messed up bumpers..... 👎

The Xsara Picasso is just bland, not that ugly... But the Multipla, I understand why people hate it. I just think the design has a certain charm.

I've always liked the Multipla - hats off to Fiat for designing something original. The Xsara Picasso on the other hand is offensively bland to my eyes.

offensively bland
How?
Do you scream in horror when you see something beige?

I think it's bland too but not particularly ugly. There's plenty of cars that are more bland but not in this thread.

Bingo. The Multipla, I recall, was what I really really wanted back when my family was large enough for a carrier. I thought that frog-ish design was really cool, and I'd still want one, if I had a large family now.

Exactly - it doesn't really have a place here, because it's not really ugly. Just, you know, a see-and-forget design.

these are the ones that pop to mind now; and the Alpine A110 is one of the coolestcar designs (and concepts) to ever come out of france.

What is this? A history lesson? When I look at this, I just can't help but feel that they took this "retro" styling far beyond the bounds set by the new Mustangs. This honestly looks like they took an old a-body and customized a few panels for a more contemporary feel. I can't help but look at this monstrocity and really think to myself just how far back this "styling" sets us back! This is the 21st century... cars are supposed to look light, unique, futuristic, compact, and practical. When I look at the Challenger, I see a mid-life crisis pill, an old man's degenerate youth... I see nothing but a flat out joke. It's stupidly impractical!

It's definitely a little more the direction I'd like to see sports cars to go. If it was anything other than just plain ugly, it's definitely hyper. It's a lot more contemporary. Rather than looking like they built off an old a-body, it looks more like they've taken a spaceship and molded those subtle throwbacks. I see great things out of this car as it evolves, but at it's current state it looks terrible but I can appreciate their answer to all this "retro" stuff. Still ugly though, and just really impractical as well.

The older generation of Camaros, say the old f-body, was sleek, smooth, and just practical of a sportscar at that time. It wasn't too over the hill, nor ever an eye sore. It was a perfect blend, and if anything easily beautified.

The Challenger is one car that looks much better in pictures than in real life. (It also looked great in person... In concept form).

And it just looks BLAND in silver.

The Camaro just looks like crap.
