thanks for clarifying that. Well if you aren't a us resident, you won't be getting the rebate anyway. So now you can decide if u want it even without a rebate.

People who remember my concerns posted here a few months ago will understand that this sounds good to me :

As well, something noticeable about moving from GT3 to GT4 is that the wheel has a much tighter "dead zone". When you were in a straightaway in older games (GT3 or anything else) you'd have what I'd guess would be about 5 degrees of looseness in each direction before you felt any feedback. That loose zone is noticeably tighter now with the Driving Force Pro. It's still there, but it's much smaller. Joyous.

Well, so I won't have THAT oppertunity now anymore............so I don't HAVE to buy GT4 with it in order to get something of the prize tag, but it's cheap on amazon.com anyway, and I presume they are new?? I have a friend who has heard from another friend that he bought a used one and the pedals truned up to be loos, I mean NO force feedback or some kind of resistance.......that sucks

Edit: and the within 24 hour shipment doesn't count for europe does it??

Got mine today, I paid a lil more, $128 plus tax US. But i didnt go searchin for it either :) It was an impulse buy ...lol I should have my copy of GT4 this afternoon sometime around 3pm, its 1:30 now i cannot wait..lol

This wheel is hard to get used to , at least it is so far on gt3.

i called logitech about my dfp problems (brake got stuck, not like real stuck but in game stuck) so they said they are sendin me a new one...but i have to cut the usb-plug and the plug going to pedals and send them to switzerland :D but i can can keep spear parts...so i can meaby even fix my old dfp..great job from logitech...

DFP is not for GT3. GT4 and DFP are made one for each-other. 900 and 180 is a big diffrence. But DFP's rotation range is much shorter than on real-life cars steering wheels. It's about 2 times shorter, maby a little bit less. If u don't believe me go check for yourself. Ferrari and Mclaren cars are the one with about 1000gr.

i'm glad to see i got the wheel for a cheaper price..lol I have overpayed for things so many times. Hey maybe i can get the strategy guide too with the money i saved. Here is the link again if anyone is interested

here is my setup..

And it seems like you've got garantee to, don't if I said that correctly but I mean you can get another one if yours doesn't work right?? Or is this kind of difficult if you live in Europe??? I know I'm OVERLOADING you all with questions but I haven't ordered anything from a website ever!!! Sounds stupid, but now my dad worries about the garantee and if it isn't better to get it in a shop in town?? So is this ALL reliable, meaning the quality of the DFP, amazon.com,logitech themselves, and how about the paying for it?? I'm really sorry for ALL these questions, but I just need to be certain I ain't screwed if the DFP has problems or something cause my parents would be furious............and me too!!

head down to your local coffee shop. buy a nice peice of bud, smoke it then go home and make your decision. btw, you won't get ripped off ordering from a web site.

No, ofcourse not!!! I am also very, very interested in the speed7 wheel!!! :) 👍

Hi Kike. Don't worry your English is very good :)

I'm glad to see you're just as excited about the s7 wheel as I am. Like I said, Simon mentioned to me that he wants to make it work with the PS2....but was this over 9 months ago! So it's very possible that that may have changed. I hope it hasn't. Because if the s7 wheel comes out and does NOT support the PS2 I will be forced to look for someone to swap the PCB out of the DFP and install it into the S7(which I imagine will be a very delicate and complicated process).

As for the LCD screen, it appears that it is lodged between the top part of the wheel steering hoop and the center of the wheel. So yeah, I am guessing it will turn "with" the wheel and not be stationairy, which I agree wouldn't be a good idea.

And no, I do not own the speed 7 pedals. The only thing I have owned from BRD is the Non-FF Lotus Classic Red wheel and standard pedals. They were compatible with my PS2 via an adaptor BRD used to sell and I enjoyed using it very much. I did have a small problem with it though...the strength of the turning signal started to decrease after a certain amount of time while playing RRV for the PS2. Not sure what was causing it but it could very well may have been the PS2 adaptor. Anyway I wound up selling on ebay cuz I needed the money.

I am planning several things regarding wheels in April. First of all, I am planning on buying an ECCI 6000GTS Trackstar wheel and pedals and will be looking for a guy to mod it to make it work with the Xbox. I will also be buying the Driving Force Pro wheel with the Frex kit, and the Logitech Racing Force wheel for the Gamecube. I am going to try and find someone to mod the gamecube wheel and the DFP wheel and make it so that the DFP wheel will work with the GameCube so I can play F-ZeroGX with it. Gonna be a ***** but it's gonna be worth it.

Also gonna buy my first BRD race frame in about a month. Stay tuned :D

I just got GT4 and the DFP wheel. I really like it, but I have one small problem. Sometimes when I am driving, the brake will randomly comp on. I thought it might be a loose wire on the plug, and I moved it around and it did mess up when i wiggled it. It was doing this even when I had it connected to my PC and I was playing Colin McRae rally 2004. Has anyone else had this problem?

i got the driving force pro for gt4 and i'm using 900 degrees right now, i was wondering, is it possible to turn gt4 into 300 degrees? i'm not able to use all of the 900 degrees cause it's really stiff and hard to turn, also in gt3 when i play, all the buttons work fine except the brake pedal, it's opposite, so when i go, i have to press down the gas pedal ANd the brake pedal, cause when i press down on the brake pedal, it thinks it's off, but when i let go of brake pedal, it think it's on..anyone know whats up wtih this?

so i was shopping today for gt4 and saw every store selling the logitech DFP for aroung 149.99 i passed on all of them and went to sam's club. they had it there for 109.99 dollars. i just saved 40$ bucks that will go towards gt4 when i see one on sale. just thought i'd let you guys know about this bargain. :)

This may be a dumb question but does GT4 FORCE you to use the 900 degre mode with the DFP?

the amount you have to turn to max lock is different for some cars. Of course, you dont have to turn as much with the jgtc cars to max lock as you would with production cars.

My diving force pro wont switch to 900 degrees either. I have GT4. The right LED faintly blinks, but when I do the select+R3+right padle it just corrects itself to the center. Is mine broken?

Avengence:i have/had same problem that you are having...try playing whit onefoot that way it wont get stuck so easy...and just call logitech and tell them about your problems and they will send you new one..

panamajack:try to boot your dfp and try again select+R3+right

OT I know but I spoke to BRD support back before the first of the year and asked them if they were going to make their Speed7 pedals compatible w/the PS2, since their previous pedals were....by using an adapter that linked the pedals to the PS2...and I was told that they're working on it but were devoting much of their free time on getting the Speed7 wheel into production...as well as finishing up all the Q&A needed...So, hopefully this will come to light...even though I've recently parted with my Speed7 pedals and opted for Frex.
(Only because Frex pedals are compatible w/both the PC & PS2 and I didn't want to have to deal with changing the pedals out depending on what game and/or system I was using.)

The DFP will adapt itself automatically (GT4). If you are driving a road car, the lock to lock range will be much higher then when you drive a race car. It also depends on have fast you're driving. It is like in a real car. If you driver very slow, you will have to turn the wheel much further than when you are driving fast. This is even more noticible with real race cars because of the low lock to lock range (degrees). There is also a difference between the lock to lock for the steering wheel and the lock to lock for the front wheels. The degrees the front wheels make is much less than the degrees the steering wheel. I believe that 30° lock to lock (race car) at the front wheels is exactly the same as 270° lock to lock (steering wheel). The front wheels of a road car turn much wider than the front wheels of a race car.

If this isn't right, feel free to correct me!!!

A friend of mine is a ex F3 race pilot (he drove against Takuma Sato before he became a F1 pilot and Kimi and Alonso are good friends of him). If somebody has questions, I can ask him and answer your questions. He likes to talk about these things. I don't know much about these things, I have to ask my friend for advice all the time. I learned a lot from him!!!

When I was driving a Formula Renault, I could feel how "direct" the steering of a race car is.

I am having a problem with my Driving Force Pro. Sometimes when I am driving the accelerator seems to stop responding, either fully or partially. When I hit the gas the car will either not accelerate at all or instead will accelerate 75%. This will happen at the beginning or in the middle of the race. What it interesting is that the thin blue meter that represents throttle DOES respond to my but the car will not rev up properly. Anyone else have similar issues?

hi stinter

this is a copy of my post on page 60:

This link deals with the problems the MOMO racing pedals have. You can use this link due to the fact that the DFP and MOMO racing have the same potentiometers and the same problems.

This is the thread which deals with all the DFP problems, you can find this thread under GT4 Prologue, not GT4!!!!!!!

WOW! Well, it looks like I will be taking my DFP back to EBgames and exchange it for a new one. I see no reason why a brand new $150 racing wheel should require "mods" out of the box. Thanks for the clarification on what the issue might be though. I will cross my fingers and hope that the new DFP is defect free.
