ZardozHuh? So you've had to replace two of them? That's "well built"?
Please elaborate a little.
The wheels were all perfect, just the pedals werent so that's why the wheels went back (they only replaced the whole lot, not the pedals alone).

GabkicksIf you have a decent PC. get Richard burns rally, LFS, or at least try the demos.
craizeeAnyone know what kind of support Burnout Revenge will have for this game? I guess 900 degree steering wouldn't matter much for that game.
d12dotcomJust like to say that I ordered my Driving Force Pro today with my first paycheque from work and I even paid £12 for delivery just so it gets here for Saturday . I ordered it from Ebuyer and overall it cost me £81.21 or something with delivery etc. Im quite excited, feel like a little kid on Xmas Eve. I'll post my views in this thread on Saturday, thats if I'm not spending all day playing
Ikari_Sanhmm, practise practise practise!
Not sure what to say...just gotta do things earlier and smoother, maybe start off slow and gradually get faster and faster. Use the throttle to control drifts, if you ´+lose control point the wheel where to want to go in advance and be ready for "the flick".
Practising with one car at a time can help, maybe drive something a little slower than the minolta to start with? I dunno...
GT4 is a piece of cake compared to RBR though
kungtotteIf you're in a Minolta, you shouldn't be drifting
My suggestion is decide early on if you want to drive with low or high force feedback, and stick to it. I've unintentionally been driving all along with 100% force feedback, but I find that I can hardly drive if I set it down to the lower setting because I can't judge how much I should turn the wheel. I assume it would be the same if it had been the other way around.
What I did when I first got the DFP (a couple of weeks ago) was I went into the arcade mode, picked out a car (Audi A4 Touring Car) and drove it on an easy track (High Speed Ring) to get the hang of the basics - how much input for what effect, basically. I drove a couple of laps on that track until I could do it without making too many mistakes.
Then I took the same car out on the 'Ring and drove that until I could get decent times. I'm still not down to the same kind of times I had with the DS2, but I'm getting there I think. First lap on the 'Ring I came in at 8:40, now I'm driving around 7 minutes with Super Hards in Gran Turismo mode.
phat_pengiunWhat's the average price for a dfp now? I'm considering buying one, and i'd like to know how much it's going to cost me. I've seen it for £65, is that a good price, or should i look elsewhere? Also, if i sold my old wheel - Fanatec Speedster 3, how much would i get for it?
Thanks
Btw, the dfp for £65 is here: http://www.savastore.com/productinfo/product.aspx?catalog_name=Savastore&product_id=10282026&pid=44
Ikari_SanIf you don't like the intense wheel shaking when driving down the la sarthe straights at max speed:
1. choose a circuit with a flat road!
2. use 2 hands and hold it still!
3. turn the FFB down
FooAtariSavastore is the cheapest I have seen it for in the UK, even taking eBay into account.
Is the Speedster for PS2 and Xbox? Youll probably find you will get bugger all for wheels selling them on second hand...
skyline_racer1Actually I think the intense wheel shake is funny. I get a kick out of it everytime I go down the Mulsane straight. I do use two hands, and no way am I turning down the FFB. Also to the other guy, I do have it in 900 degree mode.
Ikari_SanI too enjoy the wheel shake, I'm just sick of people complaining about how unrealistic it is.
Gabkicksyeah, but it doesnt shake anywhere near as much in real life. lol. its a fact. anywayz....
