split screen? nahhh, too distracting. Two TV's in same room? naaahh, too much work :banghead: Run back and forth between events? ....... a lot of running around :grumpy: Push back LMS deadline one day? 💡

Phil

💡 Methinks there's one option that hasn't been mulled over, provided oldphart's TV has it - Picture-in-Picture. That way you would have the ability to see the US Open in one picture and have the 24 Hours of LeMans and the USGP on in the other. I should know because I once owned a TV(an RCA 27" model) that had PIP capabilities until the TV tube just could now work anymore back in 2004. Owned it for 12 years and it worked just fine for me. ;)

Hello everyone. I have just returned from vacation. I came across this interesting PS2 game called "Corvette: Evolution GT". has anyone heard of it?

Ooo!

2 1/2 hrs till crazy drivers start their insanely powerfull cars!

24 hour coverage on Motors TV, plus British and World Superbikes tomorrow afternoon, plus GP!

Motorsport MADNESS!

Neil:D

Here in the States
1st 2.5 hrs already broadcast gotta wait for the next segment.
Pretty surprised by the full course cautions already :(

Next up.... F 1 qual .... wonder how the 19 yr old is going to hold up ?

Then it's the U.S. Open - where par is king !

then back to the La Mans madness ! :) woo hoo !

F1 GP.. on at 3 am.. .. ohhk.. woot

75th running of the 24Hr Heures Du Mans... nothing.. but internet steaming...

:( ... somedays I wish I wasn't in Australia.

Got the LeMans coverage on SPEED right now. 10 hours to go in the race and it's going to be dawn over there soon. I did catch most of the final USGP practice session, but I had to go to work. I hope Scott Speed did OK in qualifying, but I think I heard the substitute driver for Kubica had the fastest lap @ one point during the final practice.

Scott Speed went out in the 2nd round of qual :(
The 19 yr old kid - 7th 👍
The pic in pic won't work with the sat dish :( even though my tv has it

Tiger is in the final group tomorrow
Pretty good race @ Le Mans - Audi out front by quite a bit so far 👍

Hamilton for the win ! .. Vettel did well to Q 7th .. though there will be some nerves at the 1st corner for a nineteen year old , not just from him but those in the middle of the pack , nevertheless i expect he will replace some 'oldfart' next year .. ie , grandpa Coulthard or ''i think i'm a top class driver'' .. R 'Shoeforker' .

Tiger Woods happens to be in final group with none other than Aaron Baddeley .. BADDS for the win ! :)

Side note .. not sure how many years ago , but it was prior to him winning his 1st major .. Tiger came down under to play the Aussie Open { Greg Norman won } .. anyway my office is not so far from the golf course { The Australian } .. i spent one afternoon following some of the guys on their practise rounds .. and one of them was Tiger { they were shooting up to 6 balls off the tee } .. had the pleasure of having a short chat with him after finding one of his balls ... he seemed super composed and was very friendly .

Side note 2 . Aaron Baddeley won the Aussie open as an amateur when he was 19 .. then returned the next year as a pro to win it again .. a few years back while playing in the Greg Norman Invitational { Baddely won in a play-off with Sergio Garcia } i remember him playing a bunker shot on the 1st hole on the final day .. during his backswing a bird shat on one of his shoes .. he held his swing , climbed out the bunker wiped his shoe clean , went back and hit the ball 3 inches from the hole .. :) .. had another 'short chat' with AB .. while walking alongside of him on his way to the second Tee .

Whatever .. i'll be up at 3am to watch the GP .. then will be staying up to watch the golf .. good luck Tiger .. good luck Badds ... we are proud of you Aussie 👍

I'm pulling for Scott Speed to do better this year after what happened to him at the Brickyard last year(he got wrecked between Turns 1 & 2 IIRC). Dunno if that'll happen given what you told me oldphart. But, here's hoping.;)👍

Pretty interesting in GT1 as well with the Aston Marting Double-0 cars 1-2 right now. Whether(sp?) or not they exorcize the gremlins is another story.

Did anyone else notice how spookily similar to a cylon raider (from the new Battlestar G series') the Pug's looked at Le Mans?

All they needed was a sweeping red light on the front just below the screen, and it would have been scary!

Neil

And here I thought I was the only one that thought that.
Bad news for you mate, this upcoming season is the last for Battlestar :(
another damn fine show going away - whaa

Don't have much time today, but I'm back....again. Instead of giving you technical medical terms I'll just say my back had to back into the shop for some warranty work. Seems the Doc ...err I mean the mechanic had a faulty installation of a part. Back at home, Neil, Chris and eats, I'll PM you either later today or tomorrow. Gotta go to therapy now for an hour. I'll be able to drive in a couple of days but am gonna have to limit it to the JGTC, I've messed up Chris's series already and won't be able to have the seat time required for more then one series. Haven't read any posts yet so Cris might have already dropped me.....real sorry guys I hate letting anyone down but my back has been running the show lately no matter what my brain wants to do. Thanks in advance for understanding.

Thats sad to hear. I feel really sorry for you that this seems to be a very painful reoccurance. How did this all start?

Yay!

My main PC's back up and running, and all I have lost is 40Gb's worth of movies.
Thankfully, all the important stuff was on the main HDD, and that one's ok!

It turns out that the processor was lose, and intermittantly causing the problem.
However, it is the reason for the HDD dying. It must have been being accessed at the time of the final fatal crash on Monday.:ouch:

Apparently, it should be all OK now, fingers crossed.

Neil

Whew!! Great news Neil! Sorry to hear a few movies were lost, but sounds like the really important stuff survived. All has been very quiet around here ....perhaps too quiet ..Muuaahhhahaaha. Ahem ... sorry ...glad you're up and running 👍

Phil

For the sake of asking Neil, what does your PC have right now in regards to hard drives? I have 4 of them on my PC - 2 of them internal with one of the drives off of a older PC that I owned sometime ago as well as a docking HD that has 40 gigs capacity and a Maxtor USB HD with 80 GB of storage.

Also, have you thought about getting a external HD for extra/backup storage?

It had a 160Gb main drive with a 40Gb compressed slave from a previous PC, plus a 16x single layer and an 8x dual layer DVD burner.

Now it's down to just the 160Gb HDD and the burners till I either get the 40Gb drive working again (and get my films back), or get a new one from the local computer fair.

No biggie really.

Hey guys back again, this time after a long overdue vacation. Our good friends that my wife and I vacation with were offered a beach house for us to use for free! Stayed 2 weeks instead of one, it was great. The house is on a barrier island in the Florida Panhandle, it was only about 150 yards wide with the Gulf of Mexico on one side and a bay on the other. It was in the boonies, our cell phones couldn't find a signal. We snorkled for scallops in the bay and fished in the gulf, it was fantastic. My dog Maximo learned to body surf in the 5 foot waves in the Gulf. Even though it's summer there was a nice constant breeze and only 50% humidity, never broke a sweat. Sure hated to come back to civilization.
Looks like it's been pretty slow around here. I haven't driven for a month so I'm ready to get back in the cockpit.

Your dog body surfs ! .. in 5 foot waves !! .. thats some dog you have there , Drew {Del used to be a big-time body surfer ; on occasions he'd look over on a wave .. and there'd be a dolphin alongside of him ... Cabarita beach} {Delfino means Dolphin in Italian} ..... sounds like you had a great 2 weeks .

While we're on the subject of vacations, I'll be taking a trip down to Baltimore, MD from this Thursday through Sunday for Otakon 2007 at the Baltimore Convention Center. In case anyone is wondering, Otakon is a anime convention that also deals with J-pop/J-rock music as well as video games.

I plan on spending some time in the large video gaming room that they'll have set up and check out some of the games that they'll have for the con attendees to play. Who knows? Maybe they'll have a few PS2's set up and connected for those who want to to play against each other on GT4 or some of the other games that have some LAN playing capability.:) Also, I'll be taking my new Sony CyberShot camera with me. I imagine there could be a couple other driving games that'll be available to play. If so, I hope I can take a picture of some of the action going on and share it with you on my return.:D

💡 Gotta remember to submit my times for some of the series that I'm taking part in before I go too. That way, I wont miss out on posting before the deadline passes. I'd hate to be a DNF for the races I'm in.;)

Just a SMALL announcement!

Lady and Gentlemen of the Long Race Forum of GTPlanet!

I bid you "good day" and "Fair winds"

Also, I would like to PROUDLY announce,

registryoffice3resizedqs5.jpg

have the most excellent pleasure of informing you all..............

We have JUST today, found out that we are presently 7 weeks PREGNANT with our first child!

Bare in mind, that I was informed by IVF doctors a few years ago, that it was almost impossible for me to have kids, you can probably imagine how I feel right now? Especially because this has happened naturally! :scared: :)

Just thought some of you Guys and Gals out there might want to know!

Neil

Wow, congratulations!:) 👍 for that to happen to you after you were told you couldn't do it is definately a miracle. Jolly good, Mate!

Congratulations Neil!! All the best wishes to you and your lovely wife. That's the best news I think any couple could possibly receive. I'm very happy for you both 👍

Great photo too btw!

Cheers,
Phil

Thanks for the congrat's guys!

Really happy about it, but I am already getting the requests for strange food at strange times, and the "Today, the baby is the size of a peanut shell, but doesn't weigh as much as a peanut" stuff going on.:boggled:

When I'm in the middle of races, of course.:irked:

And I can't get mad at the interruption, because she's "carrying my baby and it's all my fault she feels sick every morning. :guilty:

Ah, loving it really! :)

Neil

Neil, you clean up real nice!
Congratulations on everything. First a new wife, soon a new child...someone's got a few new things going on!

Way to go champ. Looks like the soldiers wanted to win the war anyway!
