The Things That Annoy You

How when you apply a user-made livery to your car you can't see what the rim width/offset was set as. You can just reapply the same rim and do the width/offset yourself, but you often have to go and repaint the rims in the livery editor because they lose the color the livery creator had set up.

There's only a 20 car maximum limit for custom races. I guess that's enough for Northern Isle or Blue Moon Bay, but it makes having realistic races anywhere else a pain. The 24 Hours of Spa had 70 entrants racing. This makes having mixed class racing annoying because you have maybe 6 or 7 cars per class.

It would mean you have to make more pit boxes to show during the start of qualifying and warmups, but for tracks that have more cars than pit boxes just start qualifying or warmups on track with ghosted cars.

It's annoying that a car's OEM wheels can't be spaced out to fit widebody fenders (wide offset doesn't go "wide" enough unless you use aftermarket wheels).

Especially annoying on older cars due to the lack of period appropriate wheels.

Is this the case for all cars though?! I’m sure I’ve put a decent offset on OEM wheels in the past! It could be car specific because I have definitely seen cars even with aftermarket wheels with barely any offset as well!!

Limited ways to non-permanently tune NA engines without turbocharging them: Short of racing exhaust manifolds (and exhausts, racing ECU, and air filters, obviously), there is no way to non-permanently upgrade NA engines without turbo/supercharging them. This is an issue with racing engine swaps, as none of the non-permanent (or the permanent ones, really) upgrades that do not alter the car's aspiration are available for them.

Good point, I can put a cam in my car, decided I want a different one and change it. Why is it permanent? I suspect so people have to spend more credits. If it’s a real driving simulator, can’t I hang onto my old camshaft and reinstall it? I get that I wouldn’t be able to change the bore of the cylinder but I should be able to install higher compression pistons and the option to go back without having to scrap the entire engine and performance parts and start from scratch again.

My primary concern with this was actually with limited opportunities to do power upgrades for racing engines, given engine swaps and money race grinding in general.

It's the case mostly with cars with wide body installed. For example the Giulia Veloce, Mini Cooper S, Abarth 595, and the GT40, all with unique OEM wheels and very limited aftermarket alternatives.

Yup. I wanted to tune Gr4 cars up to 700PP and Gr3 cars to 800PP but the only power options are turbos and superchargers. The game has no issue with you cramming a giant turbo into Gr3 cars to jack them up to almost 800 horsepower. I don't see why there can't be similar options for normally aspirated builds.

I'm annoyed with the wheel spacing after widebody modification. I should be able to place the Mini Cooper Minilites to the edge of the fender, just like an aftermarket wheel. Widen the track, wheel offset, add wheel spacers or D. All the above.

A new annoyance I realised is you make a custom race with one make of car , eg MEGANE TROPHY CAR, but the AI and game is so stupid that is makes every smeggin car (20 lineup) the same colour and same type, WTF, add some colour and variety so I can make my own Trophy cup races becasue PD cannot be arsed to add some lol. :banghead:

If it's the Gr. 4 Megane Trophy you're talking about, that would be because it only has one paint option from the dealership.

True that but it a Race car regardless, they can add wraps, colours and vinyls/stickers, so why doesnt the game use it own editor to customise cars like it does with the Super formula cars livery in the game?

I'm not asking for much am I lol.

i get annoyed by the lack of many simple things we had in Sport that we dont have in 7..

transfer of lobby ownership when Host leaves..
displaying setting changes when lobby is changed..
not being able to see race status without entering the room..
etc..

but we have oil change & a car wash that literally do nothing to performance & visuals 👍 🤦‍♂️

This was a step back from Granturismo 5 and 6 ( but 6 didn't have one make races )

Let me explain .

In Gran Turismo 5 if you selected a RM or a TC and picked one make the game would assign the car a random color chip and number. In Gran Turismo Sport and 7 the game will just randomize liveries from what exist . If the car only has a white #7 all the cars will be a white #7 .

Why is this ?

Gran Turismo 5 and 6 allowed you to change the color value of a vehicle without changing the livery. Sport And 7 only allow a color to change within a livery.

One thing that does annoy me is when a update drops and a new car is added, usually a new event is also added to accommodate this car. Why is this car only in the added race, but not in the other races for this series of races, ie Japanese 4wd challenge. I don’t know anything about programming but isn’t this just lazy.
i know i can drive the new car in the other events but it’s never as a AI car in the other races ? ,

I've noticed this this week when racing through the Classic Sunday Cup. There are effectively two tiers of race in the series now; Tier 2 (Laguna Seca, Brands Hatch and Goodwood) has a Golf GTI or a Mini Cooper as the lead 'hard' car and smaller rewards, and at Tier 1 we have the Monza race which was added after the Giulia Veloce and DS Pallas where the prizes for winning are considerably higher.

The side effect of this split is that you basically have to switch to a car with a bigger engine for the Monza race. It's kinda janky and leaves me wondering if it wouldn't be better of they had embraced the situation and turned it into a game 'thing' rather than standing out as an oddity and an oversight.

Can’t reset carrier mode and start over. To replay what little content there is, sometimes I miss the struggle.

Finding the cheapest car I can win hyper car event with has been entertaining. But no event at say deep forest.

Get off my lawn.
I do enjoy going back to old GT games and starting over, but I have no desire to do that with GT7 and the game is very linear. You complete the same menus in the same order, winning the same cars and struggling to generate Cr in exactley the same way. With the older games, you had a much wider choice of starter car and you could complete events in any order provided you had the licenses required.

That's something that irritates me.

A bit flaw with custom races, when utilizing cars from your garage, is you have to remember to switch back any settings after using the car for something else. It's a lot to keep track of when you have a 20 car field.

Indeed. I have alt accounts, but haven’t touched them for a long time because of what you mentioned about progression.

The weirdest thing about this is that we know PD has a measure for this, considering they retroactively added the '96 S14 into the Silvia Sisters events once that dropped. So they could definitely add newer cars into older events if they wanted to.

Although I'd personally prefer a randomised grid of cars for each race to make them a bit more varied, like the previous games (or the Clubman Plus events in 7).

A couple pics from GT Sport. We still don’t have this kind of multi-class racing.

Thank goodness for Custom Races, but there’s no option to race as a Gr.1 entry or Gr.3 entry, in a PD created multi-class event.

I'm annoyed why can't we install turbos on corvettes, and porsche 911s. also many of the cars cannot be boosted to its maximum powers. where is 800 hp lancer, 1000 hp silvia not swapped, etc

also i'm annoyed that many of the race car have its max speed limited. at least let us use a part that removes that limit. escudo pikes peak could reach 400 kmh, gr.3 gr.b cars should reach more than 300 kmh. Though the PP calculation should be revised if there is limiter removal
