The HDD looks easy to replace, but maybe getting to it voids the warranty?

Think you would need to get the Xbox One boot loader on it somehow. If its like the 360 it won't recognize hard drive.

I guess I won't be getting mine tomorrow. Amazon told me last week it would be delivered tomorrow but as of now STILL hasn't been sent out.

EDIT: I need to try this more often. Just got the shipped notice .

I read some folks saying the WiiU disc drive is really good and very quiet. Not sure what model they use but seems like maybe Sony/MS should take a look?

It is a very quite drive indeed, incredibly quite even when you put a game disc in.

I do aim to have both the PS4 and Xbone in 3 years time. Hoping such issues will be gone by then, that disk drive doesn't sound too healthy. Hoping it's just a defect and not a normal thing.

Not much activity in here!

Guess everybody is to busy playing it?
I was wondering the same thing. Maybe the X1 systems are actually working properly and everyone is enjoying them. So they don't have time to come here and complain. The PS4 thread was hit instantly with PS4 consoles crashing and filled with complaints. I thought for sure this would have been a very busy thread by the time I got on today. Maybe for once this is good news and the X1 is actually doing well at launch. I will check the xbox.com forums and see if its exploding. If the site is even working today. The mandatory day 1 patch is going to slow a LOT of people down for most of today.

If the PSN didn't have trouble with the day one patch I imagine the Xbox will do fine. I still can't decide if I should go get mine or not. I have one sitting at gamestop but I just can't decide if I want it. I picked up a ps4 with cod, bf4, killzone, nba2k. There's really no games for me to get for the xbone. I race with a wheel only so forza is out since neither wheel I have will work on it. I don't like button mashers so no ryse. I'm also not a dead rising fan. If I had known 2k didn't have the online franchise I would have waited and gotten it on the Xbox.

I'm really wanting to try out the UI though and just play with the xbone some. Wonder if a used console would still sell high enough to get money back on eBay after a day or two?

Thats up to you. I have no plans on getting the X1 until maybe around Spring 2014. That will give them about 5-6 months to work out any inevitable problems the X1 will have.

At that point I will trade in my PS3. Probably keep the 360 for a while since I have a lot of games I still love on that system. Plus I have over 200 Rock Band 2 songs on the 360.

Well MS have came out today to say there expecting a shortage for Xmas/new year so if you get yours you'll maybe be able to make a profit on it.

I don't seem to recall anyone on GTP actually receiving a broken system and all the "complaints" were from news sites making a big deal out of tiny issues. Sony have stated less than 1% of PlayStation 4 units were defective and when you sell over 1 million in one day that is an absolutely tiny percentage of defective units.

I hope the Xbone has a good launch. They reversed most of the policies that I disliked and I look forward to getting the system eventually. I'd hate for the Xbone to turn out like the Vita which is an amazing system with little support do it doesn't get the awesome games it deserves. A good buddy is getting an Xbone today (along with Forza I believe) so I'll be able to get some game time with it later.

XB related threads (like the Wii/Wii U) don't seem pop much here, unfortunately, so to me, that would explain the lack of posts. There are some small launch issues just like the PS4. I'm sure many are enjoying their X1's, PS4's and Wii U's equally. 👍

Initial reviews of Forza 5 aren't as good as I'd hoped they would be, general consensus so far seems like it was rushed (which almost all launch titles are). I hope I don't find it as bad as others are or else I'm going to be trying to track down another game for the Xbox tonight. Guess it would give me an excuse to get either Madden or FIFA.

Well people are already getting banned for EOU, As the issue with the Disc Drives being Broken.

Was playing (or at least trying to play) FIFA last night on a friends xbone but it kept crashing. They might have patched it by now though hopefully.

EA games are notoriously buggy, so it wouldn't surprise me if there was something causing it to have issues.

A quick search round the net revealed these two problems.

Controller Bug:
Using two separate controllers, both assigned to user profiles, and then using controller two to navigate the bootflow when FIFA 14 is loading can result in a crash. The FIFA dev team will be fixing this issue as soon as possible (shortly after launch) but, in the meantime and as a workaround: please only use controller one to navigate the bootflow of FIFA 14. You can turn on and use the controller two once in the main menu.

Bootflow Issue: If you suspend the console (leave it inactive until it 'sleeps') on the title screen in the Xbox One bootflow, you will not be able to access any online features when returning from an unsuspended state. As a workaround: don't suspend the console when on the title screen. If you do, simply restart the console (XB1 Only).

Steer clear of these and it should be okay for the time being hopefully. Although I don't remember if we were doing either of these two things but there was two pads connected...

Yes FOR SURE. So anyone playing an EA game is going to have problems today and over the weekend. Guaranteed to happen with EA games. Especially with launch consoles. Hopefully the new console owners have a decent weekend but I imagine it will be a bumpy ride for a while. As with all launches. By the time I get one in about 6 months, most of the problems should be worked out....hopefully.

On a scary note, that's about the time the 3RROd started to appear for the 360. So I sure as heck hope hardware problems appear sooner than later. So its all resolved by the time I get one. Otherwise I will just keep waiting. I am in NO hurry at all to get the X1.

Wah, I never preordered so will have to wait until the thirteenth for the FIFA Special Edition pack to come out.

Wish I made up my mind earlier.

Went ahead and picked one up with skylanders and cod. The first thing I noticed was how hard it was to aim. I started experimenting and the controllers have a pretty big dead zone in the center on both sticks.

Also cod looks a good but better on the ps4. It looks like the xbone is running no AA at all. Everything kind if shimmers where the ps4 version is super smooth. The lifting is also not near as good on Xbox. It washes out details pretty bad when the sun hits a spot. This was done using comparisons with the game running in both and just swapping inputs.

So far I'm pretty disappointed in the Xbox.

love the hdmi in and out

can connect my dish cable box and it will control the tv, dish box and a/v receiver

it will turn on and off everything with 1 verbal command

as an entertainment system, not just games. xbox one > ps4
