I'm not sure why you seem to be focusing on video games when it comes to people buying their TV sets. For most people the TV set is still defined by TV and Video. People bought 1080 sets because 1080 TV and movies existed for them to watch on it since 2005, 2004 in some places.
With no 4k TV broadcasts and little to no 4k video people aren't going to be big adopters of 4k TVs.
I'm not focusing on video games at all, I'm actually discounting them. How can you not tell that? Rubs head in amazment.
There's not a 1080p broadcast standard even now, what are you going on about? I don't have time to go through in baby steps at how slow and baron HD channels were since 2005 to 2007 and beyond. 2009/10 was really the point where 720p broadcast were in use. here in the EU it took 4 years for HD tuners to appear inside the sets:LOL: Didn't stop people buying it
I get it, I get it, usually silly skepticism to some future expensive tech, no one will bother. 4K sets are showing up at $1200, then new movie players will be here soon, many will want to see they're movies as filmed or close to. 720p to 1080p wasn't much difference but still happended quickly. 4k is just stunning. manufacturing wil move on whether you sit in your naysaying armchair or not.
I'm not even saying widespread adoption. please spare me the anti 1080p and 4K theories. Instead why don't you just say, "oh $1200 for 4k already, could be sooner than I thought, I assumed it would be a small minority for a few years".
Now please move on and keep it about Xbox One.
