This game does everything in its power to demotivate me to play it

Then they should've been much more clear about that from the get-go. They still claimed that GT7 was the most complete GT experience thus far, and as such they should've known that that would create a particular set of expectations, especially from long-term players who grew up with the series. The subsequent result, and reactions, are of their own doing.

If this is indeed the most complete GT game by PDs standards, than that would suggest a significant drop in quality and/or a significant amount of incompetence from them.
Why would you expect B-spec, course maker and tracks that were never even mentioned? Why would you read that much into a simple sentence about what they think of the product (not you), especially when it's coming from PD. I certainly didn't!

Your (and others) expectations must have been a lot higher than mine and what I would think was somewhat over optimistic. I mean, you're welcome to expect whatever you like but you're setting yourself up for disappointment.

my opinnion :
the game is not so bad, you still have something to play with in it, but in general it's broken, some cars are broken ( ts050, r18 2016), lack of content ( some really special cars, tracks ), game bugs........etc

ITS SAFE TO SAY , ITS TIME FOR ME TO PUT THE GAME AWAY, FOR COUPLE OF MONTHS!

MY OPINNION!!!

First off, I personally didn't expect anything in particular from GT7, primarily because of Kazs/PDs history of constant dishonesty with the GT fanbase, nor did I ever claim that I was expecting such things to reappear in the game. Regardless, it doesn't absolve them from receiving criticism for their decisions and said dishonesty.

Secondly, PD is the one who made the claims that GT7 was the "pinnacle of the series" and "the most complete GT game to date." That's a mighty big claim to make considering how much area GT has covered as a franchise. Kaz/PD/Sony should've known that such a claim would, very understandably, create certain expectations from customers, given the history of the franchise (and, let's be honest, they more than likely knew this beforehand). These claims were made in order to entice the public to spend money on their product, and when it became clear that PDs initial claim were basically a lie (alongside the various other aspects of the game that were never touched on or clarified before release), then people are justifiably going to feel like they didn't get what was promised to them.

You're trying to make it seem like people got their hopes up foolishly, but it was PD who planted the seeds for those hopes to begin with. As such, there is some onus that very much rests on their shoulders.
Why would you read that much into a simple sentence about what they think of the product (not you), especially when it's coming from PD. I certainly didn't!
Again, PD were the ones who made the claim. That "simple sentence" carried a lot of weight behind it (especially considering how much the series has fallen off over the past decade), and to pretend otherwise is being dishonest.

And like I said earlier, if GT7 is truly the most complete entry in the series by PD's standards, moreso than the likes of GT2 or GT4, than that suggests that their quality standards have dropped significantly, and/or there's a pretty significant amount of incompetence within the studio.

Just sound like a bunch of entitled crybabies TBH.

"Wahhhh! they fixed a glitch"

"I hate GT7 but want to farm the **** out of a glitch"

"I hate GT7 but I can't help myself playing it, coming to the forum and moaning about it"

Doing something you dont like doing falls into some sort of definition of stupid. I'm sure.

Seriously? This is essentially you complaining about people complaining. No one is forcing you to agree with anyone's particular complaint(s), but acting this way is just stupid.

As for your fourth sentence, no one here hates GT7, as least not as much as you're suggesting. People here are just disapointed with this latest offering in the series because PD intentionally falsely marketed this game by making statements such as being the "most complete" GT to date. Naturally people are going to have expectations set when such a bold claim is made. And the Tomahawk was merely a symptom of a bigger issue with the small event list and PP calculation system. But instead of fully addressing those two issues, PD saw the Tomahawk itself as the issue instead and made a band-aid solution to patch it, despite this being one of the only glitches in the game that was actually beneficial to players.

You don't have to agree with peoples complaints, but downright dismissing them is childish and stupid.

I'm generalising / paraphrasing.

Dont need to go far... look at the 'I regret buying my PS5 for this garbage' thread.

This thread was specifically about the patching of the glitch and the revisions to steering wheels.

I commented on what this thread started about and have stuck to that.

That it has digressed to the Tomohawk being symptomatic of some wider problem with PD is somewhere you're (and others) are taking.

I disagree with the glitch. It got patched.

I can't comment on steering wheels - posted to that effect in the first place.

And what do you expect from a forum discussion? That we all say "I agree/disagree" and then move on? That isn't a discussion and if that's what you expect a forum discussion to be like then I think you best look elsewhere.

Just doing it to bolster some twisted justification to rationalise the glitch lol... basically cos there is no justification for it.

'PD wronged us so we have to get our own back with the glitch'

'We can't get payback now - they patched it'

Outcry 'everybody let's riot'

Looooool

Whatever makes you feel better.

I see the poo poo emoji's rather fittingly coming from the butthurt ha ha.
Yeah I gave you a poo emoji because I genuinely find your comments to be utter ****. They don't contribute anything to the discussion at hand.

EDIT: In case anyone is trying to figure out what's going on, the post I quoted got removed. Idealy I should remove this post too, but I'm not going to as it shows why this 'troll' I quoted shouldn't be fed.

I don't think there's anything more that can be said about how disappointed many of us are in the GT series today. The only hope we have is that this next level of criticism will lead to PD taking a step back and completely reevaluating how they are handling the series. 25 years of the series doing well has probably cemented Kaz in his confidence of how he runs the company though, unfortunately.

Again, it should be noted that for some, it has been 9 years since the last time they played an actual GT title. It's been 9 years since the last numbered GT title - and this is what they get? A game which fixes very few of the problems that the GT series has grappled with, has barely anything actually new to justify it over GT Sport, has been culled back in terms of end game content in order to piecemeal it out and make the game better 6 months to a year from now, and is fluctuating between wanting to be a live service game (after giving absolutely no indication it would be) and being an effectively freemium game in its monetization structure?

Absolutely I'd be mad that this is how it's turning out.

I have finished the main campaign, licenses and many circuit experiences.

I didn't use the Tomahawk as much as some and did many races. It's fair to say it's very difficult to save up for cars in this game. Some cars are practically impossible to save up for without the glitch. There's $18-20 million dollar cars that disappear in a few days. Or you can buy it with money. In real money terms that's $400 for just 1 car which is crazy. That's just greedy on the part of PD and Sony. One car that costs as much as a console!

I also find my interest in the game waning as the grind is harsh and actually game content is thin - not many tracks and events. I have found myself buying cars that cost a fortune only to not like it and not be able to sell it. The latest update hasn't addressed that at all either. I've just won another LMP car that I already own from the 6 star ticket and now I'm stuck with it.

I hear ya. Even with the glitch it was just barely enough cred/hr to make the game tolerable, but it's too much now. There's is nothing here unless you play BoP Sport bs; it's a content wasteland otherwise.

Plus there is very good reason to believe we're about to see substantial price increases of some cars in the LCD. The cost of the F40 will be over 3mil now, previously 1.4. Remember how it was supposed to show up 2-3 cars ago but we got the Mazda RX500 instead? Yeah, it's because they're doubling the price and wanted to push it back so that people can't buy it at the old price.
This is based on the price of the new engine and new body in the tuning shop that has already updated for the cars that will be going up in price. '94 F1 going from 18.5mil to more than 22mil... 🤡 🤡🤡

So the buying-power of the credits you already have is waning, the ability to earn credits has been crippled, and the price of cars is increasing. It's just like real-life! Isn't that what everybody wants, a reminder that their quality-of-life is getting worse and worse in the game they play to escape the insanity for a couple hours?! Yet there are still rabid defenders of the mobile f2p trash we paid $70 for... Sunk-cost fallacy is a hell of a drug!

It's time to accept that Gran Turismo will never again be what made Gran Turismo a success in the first place. We can argue whether it's PD or Sony to blame, but at the end of the day it doesn't matter who caused it as GT as we knew it is dead either way. The best shot at a classic GT experience is another racing studio see's the gap in the market for a "CarPG" and moves in to take PD's original audience away. PD damned sure isn't going to make another true GT game, that's for sure.

Edit: I think the 22mil for the F1 is incorrect; engine is 9.7mil, so the price should be 19.4mil. So still up 900k, but not up the 4mil others were projecting. Either way, costs are rising, payouts are stagnant (or cut in half if you were using Tomahawk glitch)

It's post like this is why I hardly visit on this subforum anymore.

The studio today lacks two things: common sense and humility.

I would also add INNOVATION

"I hate GT7 but want to farm the **** out of a glitch"

Maybe if the game had a decent economy system that allowed players to have fun and get tons of credits at the same time, some people wouldn't grind using a glitch to get what other games give.

And I'm saying this as someone who doesn't want to use a glitch. I don't even have the time to waste grinding for millions. I did it when the game came out. Now I'm done.

Time is precious. I have a life, like everybody else around here (I hope...)

P.S. I read your recent comments in this thread. I'm sorry but you're unable to respect other people's opinion. What makes you better than people who disagree with you? What gives you the right to call us names? I don't get it.

I don't understand the thinking when it comes to the events and the credit prizes.
When I load up the game, I look to see what cars are on offer in the UCD and LCD. I'm fairly confident this is what PD expected players to do. The Jaguar XJ13 is available for 12 million, and I had about 4 million in credits. It is my free day, so i have time to earn the credits for this car before it leaves the LCD.

My options:
I can complete a few remaining circuit experiences - but I'm not fast enough to get these easily or quickly.
I can complete the remaining missions - but I'm not guaranteed to earn much
Sport mode and custom races are a non-starter
There are 10 championships - and 3 of them can pay about 1 million per hour

So, I'm left with:
Spa 60 mins for 1.5 million (with CRB)
Le Mans 30 for 825,000 (with CRB)
Tokyo which I find really annoying
Sardegna for 727,500 (with CRB)
I like 3 of these events, but I'd like to build my stack of credits without repeating the same few events.

There are more than 100 events - and this is what I do not get. It is such an expensive game, and I have 3 events to choose from.
I know that nobody knows, but of the events that are already available, why are so few worth playing when the stated goal was to collect cars?

I realize that Sony and/or PD were hoping that players would buy credits with micro(macro?)transactions. But I don't think that increasing the number of events with reasonable payouts will have much impact, if any at all

I am literally at a point, where I want to give up on this game entirely, although it is literally the ONLY game I play. So yeah, just a lot of disappointment, anger, frustration and resignation on my side.

How do you feel about all this?
I bought a ps4 and a SIM rig for this game. Like you, I feel like they are working hard to drive me AWAY from it.

Terrible reward system for game play
Cant sell cars
Roulette Tickets just piss u off
****ing HORRIBLE lobbies (GTS is way better)
Screen Freezes
They killed Kudos (cant have something you enjoy!)
And I can go on and on.

Exactly. The Tomahawk glitch and its popularity is a symptom of a horribly broken economy, not greed on the part of those that too advantage of it. When it occurs in other games it's usually duplication glitches where you can buy everything in the game by doing the glitch for a few hours. The Demon's Souls dupe glitch and Red Dead 2 gold glitch come to mind. Those would break the game and ruin the experience for the player in the long run. The Tomahawk glitch made the game bearable, and even for those of us that did make hundreds of millions using it, it didn't break the game in the slightest. I've spent just under 300mil on cars and only have 230 vehicles, maybe 5% of them are tuned, and that's 3mo post-launch playing nearly every day. This isn't a f2p MMO but it sure as hell has the economy of one!

3mil/hr should be what the medium-tier races are paying out, with races like the WTC 600/700/800 paying 4mil/hr or more. That would still be a 5hr grind to buy the 250 GTO, F1, or any of the other 20mil credit cars. So the 3mil/hr the Tomahawk glitch allowed was far from wanton, it was the bare-minimum to keep the game playable. Now it just feels like a job, and a ****** minimum wage job at that.

It really is. People are going to grind in any case, but when people are grinding because that's the only real way to get anywhere, then it's a major problem and emblematic of how the in game economy has been set up. And yes, while changes were made, it's either one time and incredibly dependent on player skill, or it's grinding for the sake of grinding to get what you want. And as we're seeing with the new update introducing pitiful rewards for completing the latest added races and menu books, it seems that Polyphony are once again trial ballooning seeing how they can get away with bringing the in game economy back down to launch levels, now that the player base remaining has their toys and the trickle of new content, specifically cars, becomes larger. Too bad that completely screws over anyone else coming in after this point.

But hey, at least some brain geniuses told me that micro-transactions are useless now! Even after the **** storm that accompanied Polyphony blatantly falling back to them after years of having them in their games and lying about it, not removing them simply so they could get to this point where they become more important then ever to the monetization plan of GT7, at least we solved that problem! Barely.

Like, anyone who seriously thought that the Hagerty's deal was for anything other then ****ing over the players who do play the game, in terms of pricing cars steadily higher, are absolute marks of the highest order.

By this point, 'realism' for Kaz basically means his justification in trying to screw over the player base.

I really enjoy threads like this as it makes me feel like I am not the only one that PD hates ;-)

First up, I have the platinum for GT5/6/S and this piece of garbage. I should add, I did the platinum twice for GT5/6/S once on each account (I got bored).

I ground the hell out of the Tomahawk and had up to 62mil credits at one stage (down to 31mil now). I found it actually enjoyable to do as the challenge was to see if I could beat my best time (total race and lap) which involved not getting the mandatory (sic) penalties ;-) It also taught me a lot about the AI's intrinsic Kamikaze tactics.

I bought this game knowing what PD is like and how they would do everything in their power to make this the worst experience possible. They have pretty well achieved that with flying colours ;-)

My intention has always been to treat this game with disdain and to be as ruthless as what I can to beat PD at their own game (excuse the pun).

Now, be honest, how many of you actually enjoy "chasing the rabbit" races navigating all the mobile chicanes trying to ruin your race? Or doing a pit stop, entering in perfectly dry condition only to re-enter the track in a downpour and aquaplane off the track on slicks? Or trying to tune a car only to find out that because you changed the Toe-In you now have to lose 5HP!! At least now GBox ratios don't count anymore! Haha :-) I won't even mention the cheating, ramming, corner cutting, brake checking AI!

You guys can moan all you like and complain until the cows come home but PD will never change as long as everyone keeps buying their games. Just look at it from Kaz's point of view, he is a multi-millionaire (in US Dollars) and people by the millions run over each other to buy each iteration of the garbage he turns out. So WHY would he change?

Same as for here, this forum is so successful because of the huge numbers of people complaining and wanting to learn how to scam the game.

So my advice is, play the game (single player that is) however you want and do whatever makes you get enjoyment from it and realise full well that you have been conned into buying this. If playing it makes you unhappy, then don't play it. If you get a kick (like I do) out of beating it with it's cheating ways then good on you too ;-) And don't forget, keep complaining here and sharing how to scam the game as it really makes me feel a whole lot better :-)

My $0.02 worth
