Thrustmaster T-GT Wheel Thread

It turns out T-GT is simply GT branded PS4 version based on TS-PC and isn't direct drive. I feel...

But how can i get the thrustmaster T300 when is sooooooo unreliable i mean, im also looking for buyin a new wheel right now , owned a tx 2nd hand witch ran out of warranty , i didnt know the issues with it or that it wont last thought will be ok, and last me 9 months and died ,got 30 euros for it sold it as parts , after i bought
a g920 witch is total garbage in terms of feeling (personal opinion) comparing with the tx/t300 , sold it 1 week ago , and i dont know what to do ,
my buget is 550 can't order a fanatec because the shiping to cyprus is 150 euro only witch goes close to 650-680, i can buy a t300 alcantara for 370
a t500 for 480 or the t-gt for 622 with shpping included, just dont want to go trough the pain again with the tx/t300 50/50 reiability dont know...what to do.
The wheel i will buy it from amazon , even tho i never returned nothing to them , im still sketchy of investing 400 euro in a t300 and playin 2-3 months and chaning it again. and here in Cyprus the summers are wayyy hotter than rest of europe witch adds to the wheel.

The T-GT can be found here for 600 https://www.amazon.it/gp/product/B01HRYDV0M/

Not sure how long will last.

You definitely need to take the weather in account!

The problem with the T300 was the internal power supply and insufficient cooling which heats up the base significantly. That heat shortened it’s lifespan a lot. Even the G25/27/29/920 (albeit less torque) have an external power supply and no even fan! Maybe the newer ones have better cooling. I suggest contacting thrustmaster if the cooling system has been revised in recent years. The T300 GT was released last year, so should be the latest model.

The T-GT has an improved design with an external power supply and way better cooling. The base has a quiet fan and the servomotor itself has its own cooling. The power supply is also shaped as a turbo to have better heat dispension.

Mmm I got the T300 with T3pa but the wheel as started to break down, crazy calibration at start and weaker ff. Looking for something more and when comparing products I would say that for me CSL and T-GT have different strength (gt-sport imersion vs load cell) but (again for me) price levels should be about the same. So for 600 I would go for T-GT today but for 800 well maybe not :)
Any family or friends in Italy?

Thanks man! It looks like 635 euro to have it delivered to Sweden. I have been looking on Amazon UK and Germany but no deals there like this Italian one. My only hesitation is that perhaps I can get a Black Friday deal here in Sweden on the same pricelevels and that would be a bit more comfortable if the wheel or pedals breaks down as I can just go to the dealers instead of dealing with Amazon.

In Europe you are protected very well as a consumer for online shops. 2 years warranty.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=1161010

I’d buy it for € 635 just read through the RMA/warranty conditions of the seller. PayPal/ Creditcard also adds some extra insurance I believe.

you can just order from amazon.it and they will ship it with low cost, wont be so much 20-40 euros extra depends where you stay.
So yea i have to take weather in considedration ,its 35 Celcius inside house in the summer even goin as high as 38-40 you cant even play games :)
without ac turned on.
But yea.....im feeling quite lost, Logitech doesnt offer anything good (for me at least), Thrustmaster tx/t300 afraid to buy it the wheel sure will break
its a matter of time, The fanatec CSL is costing me close to 700 with shipping here, The T-GT 622 i can even go Ts-PC for 500 but i have to buy pedals and different wheel ( dont like the formula wheel not my style.) witch goes even higher than T-GT.
What other options i have, Im skeptical of the T-GT because no one says MANNNN this is the best wheel i've driven, witch for the money it should...
The reviews are ...meh....everyone is saying get the t300 or tx....they are good for the money etc ,nope they arent.
I just want someone to say that T-GT is an amazing wheel, and i ll buy it. ! :D

Glad to help , always search when you want to buy something, I found that amazons it/es sometimes have different offers but the shipping is more or less the same.

Now why would you go for a T-GT? isnt fanatec CSL better? i would go for fanatec but the shipping alone here is 135 euro witch is unacceptable!!
i guess i can have both either T-GT and Fanatec CSL under 700 more or less.

I’ll make it simple:
If you play ps4 and GTsport (at least 50% of your time) get T-GT.

If you also play on the PC and <25% GT sport, then get CSLE. Much better value and a good upgrade from the t300.

Maybe you can contact fanatec to ask about weather conditions?

Tired of googling and thinking you only live once so just ordered from Amazon Italy, express delivery. Lets hope for the best! Thanks guys!
Finally!;) But honestly I already thought you would go this route since you spent a lot more time on this thread then CSL thread. And way more questions about the T-GT. In the end you save money from reshipping from the thrustmaster webshop.

Now you can get some nice addons if there are any Black Friday deals on those.

For now i dont even own a ps4
Playin on pc AC/PC2/Euro truck sim 2 some forza 7 some wrc 7 here and then.
For me is not to get the wheel for a console , is to get a wheel that is good and it wont break :)

Man I do search belive me :) been checking tons of different sites and Amazon UK and DE but not italian one, thanks for the advice! :) Regarding my choice I have been thinking about CSL elite package or the T-GT. Was leaning towards CSL but when reading about some compability problems on their blog and the reply but Thomas the owner I switched my mind (again) to T-GT. I dont have time to play much games (but I do buy so many of them strangely enough...) so I usually end up playing 1-2 games with the time I have. One game will be racing game the other usually BF1/CoD/Some VR game. So I will be playing GT Sport at lot since I like it very much and I figure I want the best experience for that game. I will perhaps upgrade and buy CPX adapter and CSL load cell brakes.

In that case, do you like the TS-XW sparco mod wheel? For the games you play I also recommend the Sparco 383 addon. 33 cm large wheel. Very good for eurotruck and wrc7.

I would but from 550 euro buget to 720 with shipping for ts xw is a no go for me, id rather get t-gt for 600.....
Saw the Csl elite review isrtv , and that belt loss sound was crazy :(
But the T-GT is at least as good as TS XW? or better? just playin on pc

You sound a lot like me! Loads of games and movies but no time for them. I have about loads of unplayed ps3/ps4 games. Still need to finish GTa4/gta5, Metal gear solid 4/5, Wolfenstein, resident evil 7 etc.

I alternate between horizon zero dawn Pcars 2 and GTsport now. If you don’t have much time for gaming plug and play is the way to go. I had the feeling I would need to plug in the CSL in the PC for drivers/firmware/settings, more then hooking it up to PS4 for gameplay.

Essentially it has the same internals. Same motor, cooling sensor etc. T

he only differences are the wheelrim, base design and the GTsport only (!!!) transducer feedback. So do not buy T-GT if you only play On PC only. It’s a waste of money.

If I was a pc player I would pick the CSLE.
Are there no deals on TS-XW? retail price is 150 cheaper then T-GT I thought (649)

Nope you cant find cheaper than 690 TS XW , but the ideea is that i have 400 euros as a buget, then i push it to 500 i said max , now 600 with T-gt witch im already over my head i just cannot go further , sould i even take in consideration the T500? is it as good as my broken tx? does it worth 480 euros new?

If that’s your budget, buy t300 at a shop with very good warranty. If you don’t want t300 get a second hand fanatec. There are lots of fanatec CSWv2 since the CSWv2.5 was released. Or people who upgrade to direct drive.

where shoud i even find a CSWv2 fanatec ebay? close to impossible....
The t300 is 379 with alcantara rim and upg pedals, 2 years warranty on amazon am i ok?
Or should i get the Tx ? guess both have same issues since is same base , never dealt with amazon refunds, or warranty triggers , any good? cus im expecting to send the wheel back every month for 2 years HEHEHEH :D

I’d buy the T300GT it is the most recent version of the T300

If not for 25% discount I would have gone for Fanatec. But (full) compatibility is/was an issue. Also the add on options where more reasonable in price with thrustmaster. The th8a maybe less tactile then the fanatec one, but very high quality for half the price. Also like the current and future rim options for thrustmaster. I like the 599XX (had to return it because of faulty paddles). Allthough the fanatec formula rim (26 cm) looks really sweet, I now am looking forward to the TSpc racer open wheel (28 cm) rim to be available with the BT led display add on. That combo might be even better! Hopefully the display show speed, gear and lap time if supported by the game.

After driving it for a while between Pcars 2 and GTsport I do think the T-DFB upgrade is worth at least € 50 (€ 100 is it was available for other games) which fanatec does not offer. But I agree if it came with loadcell pedals. € 800 would be a fairer price. I just can’t imagine thrustmaster not releasing a LC mod or maybe new pedalset with LC, after releasing the new range of high end wheels (TS-PC, TS- XW and T-GT). It is just a matter of time.

For the ps4 (native support) the absolute best wheel, in my opinion, is the T-GT at the moment. Cross platform probably the CSL elite.

Your pricing is off and the new csl elite wheel is now licensed for ps4. CSL elite wheel (ps4 licensed) bundle w load cell add on is 629 usd. Tgt w upgraded pedals is 950, so you now have two sets of pedals and still no load cell for 950.00! All the reviews and just about everyone on these forums supports fanatec.

For the retail price of 800 it is overpriced! I got it for 600, which in my opinion is reasonable. Looking to upgrade my pedalset though. Problem is that the csl elite pedals doesn’t fit well on my playseat challenge(without modding pedalmount) and the Cpx adapter is out of stock.
If you got it for 600 usd that is better but as you say, we still have no load cell option. The csl bundle is a way better value at 629. God only knows how much thrustmaster will charge for a load cell upgrade to make it 800+?. IF it even happens. The only way for them to make my purchase right would be to ship the load cell upgrade free.

If you look a tm s track record Im not confident this tgt will last. Also the build quality of the pdals compared to fanatec. Its the way they build, market, and price their stuff that now scares me about tm. The fact that tm doesnt offer load cells suggests they arent as concerned about quality/value. Ie tm is more of an amateur product vs fanatec more pro oriented. These things are heavy so shipping is an issue. Mine shipped free but I can see how could be a big deal.

I’m in euro. CSLE with LC is about 660 euro. I haven’t upgraded pedals yet, but potentially set me back 250 (incl adapter)
So potentially with tGt it’s about 850. I got the tgt with 25% discount.

CSLE is probably awesome, but not for me. If you read the forums there are still problems with firmware/ drivers, yellow/purple/blue modes. Settings etc. not really I was looking for. I just want to plug it in and play my game. I work 6/7 days a week from 12 to 22:00, 2 kids etc. not really enough time for tweaking. I loved it when I was younger. Tweaking settings, building pc, upgrading components etc.

Now I have a console and expect plug and playability with my peripherals.

Given that the T-GT pedals and T3PA-Pro pedals use almost identical components (same metal structure, same metal pedal arms, same conical brake mod) the only real benefit to T3PA-Pro is being able to invert them.

Personally I don't think the T3PA-Pros are all that great when inverted due to relatively low spring strength, so I'd argue that for most users the T-GT pedals are just as good. So I'm not sure why people are talking about T3PA-Pro as a required upgrade on the T-GT set. It isn't.

Good point about plug and play! I have four kids and dont have time for tweaking either! Im just venting a little cuz Im in love w those fanatec pedals and I cant even get those because there are no available cpx adapters.
