So, it's been about a week and some change for some of you T-GT guys. How do you feel about the purchase? Liking it more? Novelty wearing off? How does it feel after the latest patch?
Well, I didn’t realize how important a load cell brake is if you are serious about improving lap times, which is presumably why someone would spend 800.00 for only two of the three essential components of a serious racing setup in the first place. I am happy with the wheel and my new open wheeler cockpit. But when it became clear that I needed a load cell brake to match the quality of the wheel and seat, I began to realize that I may have trusted thrustmaster too much to give me my moneys worth. As I began reading and watching reviews, my fears were made worse when I saw how much better fanatecs same class of products were in appearance AND reviews. Bottom line- Fanatecs csl elite wheel for ps4 with FAR SUPERIOR all metal/fully adjustable and load cell equipped brake set all costs 100 dollars less than the T-GT combo! I have never seen a greater discrepancy in value between two competing products in my entire life. To add insult to injury, even if I wanted to put my admittedly foolish purchase behind me and just upgrade my now marginally acceptable pedals to load cell(for more money!) they DON’T EVEN OFFER THAT OPTION! Thrustmaster took complete advantage of my inexperience by charging me 200 dollars more than their competition that frankly is a better product. So, it's been about a week and some change for some of you T-GT guys. The t-gt peddles are all metal except the foot rest, very good quality. All metal internally. From what I understand its built with the same parts and reviews suggest its the same feeling except for placebo perhaps and that is nice too
I thought they were good quality too til I saw the Fanatec CSL Elite pedals with load cell option, followed by the excellent review it got from Inside Sim Racing. The t-gt peddles are all metal except the foot rest, very good quality. All metal internally.
I don't know what skill level you are but unless you are at an elite level, racing against other elite racers, then load cells aren't as important as some will have you believe. Sure they will help drag that last tenth or two out of yourself, and muscle memory is an easier way to be precise but the reality is most of us won't get much more out of them other than immersion.Well, I didn’t realize how important a load cell brake is if you are serious about improving lap times, which is presumably why someone would spend 800.00 for only two of the three essential components of a serious racing setup in the first place. I think you may be underestimating the extra advantage the load cell gives in consistent and controlled braking. Our whole lives we have been using hydraulic brakes that respond to pressure and not distance, and that is what the load cell does. Also, I am just as interested in not running into other cars in close traffic as I am competing on an elite level, and some have said the load cell prevented lockups and collisions at a much greater rate for them, not to mention significant(more than a few tenths) of lap times for same reasons.I don't know what skill level you are but unless you are at an elite level, racing against other elite racers, then load cells aren't as important as some will have you believe. Having said that, I still want load cells....... even if it's only for the immersion factor.
was on t500rs and now with SimuCUBE and Fanatec V3. The experience is at whole new level.
simracingbay.com 480w with small mige 10k pprWhich simucube do you have?
I would love to do that but not only is that about 350.00 more than the already 800.00 I have invested, but I cant even get the cpx adapter right now. Thanks though, I have considered that. Those csl elite pedals are sweet!if you guys can pair thrustmaster t-gt wheel with fanatec loadcell in PS4 gts, that will be the most awesome setup. maybe invest a bit on buttkicker simulation kit and just mount it properly and the imnersion is great.
Which simucube do you have? Does the base have to be direct drive to use it? Do they taylor the connectors to your wheel?
I'm not underestimating in the slightest and I know exactly what they do. In fact I even stated that it's more precise due to muscle memory, which is what you echoed with this ''Our whole lives we have been using hydraulic brakes that respond to pressure and not distance, and that is what the load cell does''. The pressure and not distance is due to muscle memory. And yes, some do say they gain time and lock brakes less, but many a fast driver can also drive at an elite level with a DFGT with a squash ball jammed behind the brake pedal. It doesn't take a load cell to compete at elite levels, it takes a damn good pilot. Some can even do it with a DS4 (no load cell there ).I think you may be underestimating the extra advantage the load cell gives in consistent and controlled braking. I love it, works great on PC games also, will be better when the games on PC get updated to recognise the wheel properly. But in the mean time its pretty easy to set it up manually with games.
Am looking to get that Sparco wheel when it comes out also (not the rally wheel)
It's better than a T500rs. It's a lot smoother and more informative. Even the pedals (with the brake mod fitted) have a better feel to my old Version 1 pro's. I can't say about the T300 or Fanatec having never tried them. But it's better than t300/t500/ Fanatec Csl elite? or just the same?'
Wheel is 600 now on many sites.
Thrustmaster webshop with 25% discountcode (code is not valid anymore)What store in the Netherlands did you buy it?
For the retail price of 800 it is overpriced! I got it for 600, which in my opinion is reasonable. Looking to upgrade my pedalset though. Problem is that the csl elite pedals doesn’t fit well on my playseat challenge(without modding pedalmount) and the Cpx adapter is out of stock.Well, I didn’t realize how important a load cell brake is if you are serious about improving lap times, which is presumably why someone would spend 800.00 for only two of the three essential components of a serious racing setup in the first place. My usual sites still charge 800, can you share some links to the sites with 600? Thanks! But it's better than t300/t500/ Fanatec Csl elite? or just the same?'

The cheapest I’ve seen here in NL is 749My usual sites still charge 800, can share some links to the sites with 600? Thanks!
Mmm in Sweden they charge 870 euro on all sites. That is too high. Show me 600 and I will order or else Fanate CSL here I comeThe cheapest I’ve seen here in NL is 749
If not for 25% discount I would have gone for Fanatec. But (full) compatibility is/was an issue. Also the add on options where more reasonable in price with thrustmaster. The th8a maybe less tactile then the fanatec one, but very high quality for half the price. Also like the current and future rim options for thrustmaster. I like the 599XX (had to return it because of faulty paddles). Allthough the fanatec formula rim (26 cm) looks really sweet, I now am looking forward to the TSpc racer open wheel (28 cm) rim to be available with the BT led display add on. That combo might be even better! Hopefully the display show speed, gear and lap time if supported by the game.Well, I didn’t realize how important a load cell brake is if you are serious about improving lap times, which is presumably why someone would spend 800.00 for only two of the three essential components of a serious racing setup in the first place. Can’t look into your wallet. But I’m confident you will be happy either way. If money wasn’t factored and you don’t like tinkering/modding (Direct drive) the best wheel for Ps4 at the moment is the T-GT (not taking the pedals in account). The best value for money? Absolutely not! I would recommend either the G29 or thrustmaster T300 GT edition for value.Mmm in Sweden they charge 870 euro on all sites. That is too high. But how can i get the thrustmaster T300 when is sooooooo unreliable i mean, im also looking for buyin a new wheel right now , owned a tx 2nd hand witch ran out of warranty , i didnt know the issues with it or that it wont last thought will be ok, and last me 9 months and died ,got 30 euros for it sold it as parts , after i boughtCan’t look into your wallet. Mmm I got the T300 with T3pa but the wheel as started to break down, crazy calibration at start and weaker ff. Looking for something more and when comparing products I would say that for me CSL and T-GT have different strength (gt-sport imersion vs load cell) but (again for me) price levels should be about the same. So for 600 I would go for T-GT today but for 800 well maybe notCan’t look into your wallet. But I’m confident you will be happy either way.
