Okay, so the gold isn't that difficult for Laguna Seca. For some reason, I had ABS on weak instead of default and it made quite a difference here. That was why I couldn't get the trail braking right. Just had a session with three consecutive sub-1:31.7s and optimum at 1:32.220, though best lap still just outside the threshold with 1:31.530. I'll get it tomorrow.

Not sure if it changes anything. I like the challenge of 3%, just don't like it that the last 0.5% is artificially achieved.

@Dolph Drago , here he comes with his miracle lap
Dam fast mate, i havn't got a clue what you do with that dualsense, every TT you are up there again and again :bowdown:

....

Are you guys using some pumped gas i don't know about? is this a tuning event afterall??:lol::lol:
@Dolph Drago how in the world...........
I have to re-look at my tactiscs, cause you guys are to fast at the ring!
I've been on a decent run finishing in the top 150-200. The cars lately have been a handful to drive. Though despite my constant complaining, I seem to be able to tame them well enough to finish fairly high up the order. Notice how many more players are ahead of me when it comes to the Gr.2 and Gr.3 cars. My times aren't necessarily slow, but the downforce brings the competition much closer. I'm not even in the top 1,000 at the Red Bull Ring right now. I set that time exactly 3 weeks ago. To shake it up a bit, I went back there a week ago to see what I could do and couldn't come anywhere near it.

Oh, and I'm on a DualShock BTW. ;) I would love to see if there is a different feel with the DualSense, but I'm not about to put down the money for a PS5 to play one game!

This morning went again for some flying laps to get closer to the old mighty @Dolph Drago on his DS4 😁

I did find some time but still not even close!
Had somany crappy-ish laps that were fast but not fast enough.

Like this lap, I lost it at somany places, missed 6 by going in to slow ( i have a very hard time rotating the GTR there! ) and went completely driftig on T7 🤣 So lost quite a it time on this lap if you ask me but it was the best I could do this morning

I did drop 1632 places tho 🤣🤣
1.99% and still not even close to top 1000.....just insane

Wasn't able to trim my vette time yesterday and i think i might be stuck at.250 ish away from gold. I just can't seem to get a full lap down clean. I am easily ahead of my ghost heading into the corkscrew, but i just couldn't keep it together through the last few turns. The left after the corkscrew is killing me, i just can't seem to get it right.

Got a gold time (barely) at Goodwood in about 5 laps. That one will be fun to grind on to see how far i can climb the board

Still haven't touched the red bull ring

A bit of a taboo question, not many people will have the courage to answer I think 😅 :

Do you use it sometimes countersteering assistance for TT ?

I have the impression that it's easier to reach gold with countersteering assistance for certain TT !
I think sometimes it made it a bit more controllable in some tt's,....but....
Overall I think if you put in the time during a tt you are always faster without assist ( and mostly ABS on normal of weak, never off for me )

Now a days I hardly use it because I don't see that much of an advantage, beside I would have some trouble putting on an assist on a DB5 or P4 🤣

But it is there to help you, and if it does help you why not, I'm far of anti assist, but along the way you just get better and no need to anymore 😁

I’ve got no shame in admitting it sometimes! I generally don’t use assists at all these days but that’s a very recent thing coming from a commitment to ‘learn’ how to be consistently fast. Sometimes with a wild/slidey car I will use counter steer assist to learn braking points/limits of grip on a track with less chance of ending up in BARRY R and then take it off when I am comfortable. It’s just a more efficient way of learning a car/track combo imo.

It feels more useful with a wheel where correcting a slide is much more difficult, I’d say on a controller it might just makes things difficult as there is already some ‘assistance’ on a controller and you can move the stick so quickly I think learning to control the car with the stick without assistance is much more beneficial. Obviously it’s the same with a wheel but with a wheel you can use it to your advantage; on a wayward car you can be very gentle with a wheel with countersteering assist on. It really did tame the MC20 at Bathurst.

I’m not using it with the DB5 as it’s not particularly quick and doesn’t snap that quickly but I still find it tough to put the right amount of corrective lock in on a wheel. It’s quite fun to get it right but I still feel that when it comes to over the limit physics GT7 isn’t realistic yet… (I could give a dozen examples!!) so again your natural reactions in a skid/drift might not work in GT7 and counter-steering assist might just help..

Countersteer aid is erratic, sometimes it seems to slow down the car a lot, sometimes not.
I didn't use with MC20 at Bathurst, but I used it at SPA, and it really changed the consistency of my driving (especially eau rouge) without signicative impacts in performance.

A great example when it DID help a lot was the NSX at Daytona, and i think A LOT of people used it there, escpellialy on pad,
the first breaking point in corner was hidious without CS
I even tried hybrid laps but in the end i think it was on strong the whole lap

That was a real fun one! with my coyoteeehh waggy

I actually used it only twice - and both times for Laguna. Mustang, and now Vette, I found it much more managable with CSA strong, less sliding, easier to get a nice time. It is certain that without this assist you can get a better time, but in my case, that would require much more effort, and I just don't care enough :D I wanted to go under 1:31, I did that easily with CSA strong and that was that :D

On TT39 (Mount Panorama with Maserati MC20) I used CSA and placed P25 but normally no assists at all. Maybe some prior TT but I can’t recall for sure, perhaps TT7 (Lago Maggiore with Nissan Z Performance). It’s just a road car thing though in case I decide to try it and strong, not weak.

Improved my time to 1:25:913 for the Goodwood TT & was surprised I'm just 3.03% away. I'm just a tenth away from Gold territory. My rank was 3000+ which was surprising & shocking thing was I'm just about 2.6 seconds from the top ranked player (Jeddah Racing).

Are many players finding it tough or not many players have still attempted this TT? I know I'm not this good, just average.

I'm at 1:27.1xx and that's with about 35 minutes of actual time in it. I think I've got it in me to gold if I can link it all together. The last corner before the chicane gets me every single time. I think I've made it through once with a gold-able pace through there but the rest of the lap was less than decent. I might not be able but it seems doable. I've got time tonight if the stupid FiOS connection issue I'm having is resolved. I do really enjoy tossing this thing around this track even if I can't get my time down.

I had never used assistance before, I discovered it to pass the license with the 917K in Spa wet and I realized that it could help with certain very slippery cars like the DB5 for example but strangely it me penalized a lot with the P4 I had the impression that the car braked less well!
Actually, as said above, it helps to find the track markers or if we don't have much time to devote to the TT and we still want our 2,000,000 😁 it's very useful!

In any case thank you for your sincerity guys 💪✌️

( and mostly ABS on normal of weak, never off for me )
I always use ABS by default, I should try with normal or weak maybe I will have a DB5 a little more stable when braking ?

I in general use only ABS default, I think I used weak on some TTs.
I started using countersteering on some of TT because I use Motion sensor steering on DualSense and game steers a bit twitchy when using motion sensor. See example video here under and countersteering helps a bit to control those twitches
