Strange, it worked for myself and the other individual I personally know.

I am sure you are aware the use of textspeak such as PLEEEEEEZ and DUDE are a violation of the AUP, but never the less I understood what you meant.

You really need to calm down, it's a tiny problem (you actually go faster if you are a good driver with it off - even in the rain). Every game will have its problems and if people stopped begging PD to release it, it would have come out in November 2011! What they have done is given us a slightly unfinished product so they can finish it by November 2011. We are very lucky that we are playing it now as it's still developing.
Everyone has there opinion so you can't say that someone is a fanboy if they don't think this game has many problems.
Not all of that was directed at one particular person but some people need to put it in perspective. I'm getting a DFGT for christmas so it's not great but I'm not freaking out!

I know what causes the problem...... when you play online in a race that has TCS banned it stays blocked out even after you exit and play in A spec or another online race while it is allowed.

Well that's at least something to go on thank's.
Can you go into a little more detail on exactly what you did to get this result, did you create another account and go online, was it all working fine before hand. Anything will help better understand.
Thing is now, has it effected game saves bad enough that it can not be undone.

+1 Confirmed! I just tested it. I started a new game from a sub account, went to practice mode and all in-race adjustments worked fine as they should.
I then exited and joined an online race in which TCS and ASM was banned, competed in the practice lobby and in the race. Then I exited and went back to practice mode and ASM and TCS were no longer adjustable mid-race.
We've found the cause, now for a solution???

Wether or not we can fix it i'm not sure, I have pretty much exhausted every avenue I can think of, and ones other members have suggested with no joy.
Hopefully a patch will fix this, really really HOPE.
If it has corrupted my game save bad enough and I have to start from scratch that wont be too brilliant.
That is if PD are even aware of the issue.

I'll also confirm that this problem appeared for me after joining an online room with TCS disallowed. When it was unbanned, I still couldn't adjust it and to my dismay the problem persists. I've tried unbinding and rebinding keys and entering races with non-zero assist settings to no avail.
I would guess that the patch will, at its simplest, restore or fix the code that removes the TCS ban in online games when the box is unchecked, so a permanently saved TCS block could be solved by disabling then enabling TCS use in a lobby. Quite probably the TCS blocking will be reset whenever you return to GT Life as a precaution.

I tried ignoring it but it is starting to really annoy me especially when TC is set to 5 in a really event .I always forget to change the TC settings before each race so I hope they fix it soon .

Whoa, there you go, I did go on-line banned TCS and ASM and that happen... And as for RC45, I try your way to do it, I can't still get it fixed, when I switch to DS3, it still grayed out. Also for Driving Force GT, you can't change to any button, it just locked to it. Like when you try to drop out menu, there only 1 there which is RA mode, and if you try change to different button, there none for it.

Hang in there man I'm sure it will be patched. As long as PD is aware of the problem, they'll address it. Is there an official phone number or email to report bugs? Anyone know?

It's possible, with a little experimentation, we might find some sort of combination of events that may reverse this issue. I haven't yet found one. Anyone who planning on any kind of experimentation should be sure to backup their save. You might just end up finding a new, even worse bug. Lol.

Yep my TCS is grayed out as well in anything I do. Any car, any race and any game mode. It is getting quite annoying because I use it sometimes as well.

Had to chime in on this one too. (BGM bug 1.05, i get no personal music at all) I cant say I know which modes it worked in before patch (i dont Arcade but worked every where else), but since patch the menu RA functionality definitely works less. Often I am in race realizing TCS is wrong. I have to adjust before race every time, which is always different per the car an track, and ive trained myself to use Menu RA now I have to retrain me to not. If I can save all my cars somehow I am willing to delete an restart new GT5 game but that is a horrible pathetic option, very poor execution on PD's part.
To the guys who think this is doing us a favor.... drive 2WD w/900HP, even 600HP, in the rain with no TCS and tell us what a favor is again.
