TT No. 50 - Lotus 480PP & 400PP

Thanks for that Cargo', I've just learned how to get into the car.

I see it's at 509PP so I went to C set up and took off all the power extras etc and it's now at 129 bhp. Will leave the gearing as is to start then change if I think it might help.

Again, thanks mate.

I did some laps earlier on Suzuka and managed to not beat my time. However, I did at one point gain 1 tenth on Yinato on the last sector and about .05 in sector 2 so I probably think a 57.7 or even a .6 is possible.

Also I started to focus on Autumn Ring a little and I'm sitting at a 1:21.620 in 9th. I think a 1:21.0 might be possible if I get better at some parts of the track :)

You're welcome. Feel free to go ahead and play with the settings. I don't even remember what I had the car setup for last, lol. Whatever you do to the car, it will revert to the old settings for me so feel free to change whatever. Good luck.

Depends on both the car and the track, and how skilled you are... the more tricky the car is to drive the easier it will be to drive with a wheel, but then you have people like Doodle and Numbnuts who seem to be just as quick with the pad as >99% are with the wheel!

For me, I'm about 1s a lap quicker in the Elise and about 0.2s quicker in the GSXR with the wheel vs the pad.

Can someone give me a good setup for the Elise? I am new to tweaking setups.

Here's one for the books. Wasn't getting ahead of my earlier 59:5 or 6 sec's time with 129 hp, except for on the long straight where I was a few car lengths ahead at the corner, so tried dropping the hp back to 125 to see how it went.

Just did a 59.184 with the lower hp, so I know it is not just the hp which is holding me back, it's how I'm driving overall.

Will revert back to 129 now.

Try adding ballast before reducing power/power extras too much. This often gives better results.

Hey
Just found a standart elise, what do you think about the difference between standart and premium?

No difference at all. One is standard and one is premium. That's it.

Hi, I'm new here, and today I decided to create an account as sttoty and more people! help me hanging your settings then go polishing configuration details of my car, thanks!
And nothing if you need any more help I have to say to all of you because I learned a lot just watching :).

Do not believe I have a good English, and I'm using a translator. lool to read I do not need the translator, but to write yes , because otherwise it would look like a dialogue of tarzan :)

greetings and thanks :)

The Lotus one is lovely (mid engined cars are almost always nicest to drive in GT games). and I spent a few hours today running laps and trying different tunes on the 111r.

Was 9th earlier, but have since slipped down to 11th, with a 1:22.287.

Here's the tune... pretty confident this will run 21's in the right hands.

Parts:
Weight reduction stage 3
Window weight reduction
Carbon bonnet
Rigidity improvement
ECU
Engine tunning stage 3
Sports intake manifold
Racing air filter
Sports manifold
Catalytic convertor
Titanium racing exhaust
Fully customisable transmission
Twin plate clutch
Racing flywheel
Fully customisable LSD
Fully customisable suspension
Rear wing

Ballast: 127kg @ position 20
Makes 251bhp @ 886kg for 480ppts

Settings:
Ride -25 +40
Springs 7.0 15.0
Rebound 4 9
Bound 3 8
ARB 1 6
Camber 2.0 1.5
Toe -0.12 -0.05

LSD 10 12 5

Wing 10

Gears... reset to defualt, then set max speed to minium, then set individual gears, then final
1st 3.807
2nd 2.933
3rd 2.428
4th 2.035
5th 1.713
6th 1.460
Final 3.593

I also had a quick run on the Suzuka one... I love Suzuka East, it's a perfect TT track, but the Suzuki just ruins it by pretty much being flat to the floor for 99% of the lap... and unless you have a one without an oil change you're not going to be competitive... YAWN

Hi Stotty,

First of all, thanks for your great setup! Managed to do a 1:23.135 lap. My goal is to get to the second .22! Would it be possible for you to send me your 1:22.287 replay, so that i can see where i'm messing up?

Thanks a lot...

Used CargoRats GSX 'loaner' and got down to 59:1 secs, and am now using Killermiller's loaner and just got as low as I have ever been on the leaderboard...Da da, # 322 after a 58:882 run, which is only a second from Yinato.

Only thing I changed, just before I made this run, was to remove the camber from all wheels. I'm sure that did it, ha ha.

A big thanks for that you blokes.

I would add that I was following someone else's ghost when I went to 59:1 as well as for this new time. Forget his name but his car ran 58:074 and I sometimes find that it helps to have a faster car to chase.

I'm very happy with that time so will just try some different settings to see how things pan out.

Well done......Try to slide from the 1st corner into the second :)

Actually with the same tune as the premium model I found my Type 72 was awful about 2-3 second's slower.

With others tunes aswell I just could'nt find balance in the car.

Do you mean from the 2nd corner into the 3rd?

Or are you talking about the turn in and the exit on the big r/hander at the end of the main straight.

If the latter, I accelerate briefly immediately after entering which gives an extra boost then I quickly hit the hand brake to help the slide to exit out, usually coasting in 3rd gear until it's safe to put the foot down, well, press the button down hard.

Anyway, time to hit the cot, g'night. I'll check tomorrow if you have replied.

Finally i joined the elite group of 57's.

I was really hunting that 57 since yesterday. Beginning of the week i would never thought of 57 when i slowly start shaving of bits and pieces and i started thinking of the 57. I really wanted to join the 57 guys and really happy i made it. But after adding my fastest sectors i came to a .8xx even a low .8xx. But it's so hard to combine al your best sectors. I have a very very poor T1 with a .805, my best is .672. So do the math :grumpy:

But gonna enjoy this highest spot on the board for me ever :)

Thanks Mitch for the car  Hope your problems with your PS3 will be solved soon. Hang in there mate

Hey guys. Been having problems with my PS3 the last few days so I can't help anyone at the moment. In the process of trying to fix it (don't really know what the problem is) and when I do, I'll be back. Looks like JK has got things covered anyway. Again, my apologies for the inconvienence and hope to be back soon.

That's the same problem I've had for the past few days, I know I can get at least a .7 if I can keep my act together in the first 2 sectors but I seem to nearly perfect the last one almost every lap, catching Yinato by at least .03 and even as much as .12 there!

This one ;)

Fair enough. It would be a hell of a slide from that one to the next L/h corner.

Actually it's the 3rd corner, R/hander, where I make most mistakes, missing the best line. When I get it right it it feels great.

Let me know if you need your car back. By the way, how does that work? Do you just take it back when you want it? What are the protocols here for handing/taking back, loaners?
