TT No. 50 - Lotus 480PP & 400PP

I've never shared a car before from someone, not even sure I know how to do it, but if there is someone with one with 125-127 etc hp who is willing to lend it I'll have a go and see if higher hp helps me.

Ask Cargo he`ll help, then you click on community click their profile and you`ll see what cars they`re lending just click on the car you want to borrow
 
I just did a 59:748, puts me at #1392, unfortunately I can't see how I can gain the extra hp from 115 to reach 125-127hp as the car has stage 3 engine tune,

56.4% power and there is nothing left to get rid of, air filters etc, no down force etc.

I can probably get a but lower but probably not into 58's I don't think.

Hi dude, How are you taking the 1st bend are you breaking straight and strong and the gliding the corner on the apex or lightly breaking and then accelling a bit and breaking before coming out of the hairpin?? Cheers!

If you're talking about Suzuka I'm probably not the best to ask as there are a few on here faster than me, but I take turn 1/2 at Suzuka like this...

Coming up to the corner in 6th gear, turn in very gently, I think I have a very slight brake (not 100% sure - might be just a lift) and down change to 5th, then coast towards the outside to set the line up for turn 2. I try to keep the steering angle to a minium so the car doesn't oversteer as I brake for turn 2... then it's brake and 2 down changes to 3rd before turning in.

Best idea is to watch the top guys replay... you'll get a better idea that way.

Cheers, im using a pad, i think ive kinda found the best route, i break a bit then glide round to the outside break then turn to get the apex , dont always happen though lol

With my gears I never get out of 4th, ever. ???

I'm still not over South Africa beating us in the Test match. Two draws and one win did it for them.

You do the whole lap in 4th? I use 3/4/5/6.

Ordinarily, I'd say you need to change your gearing, but it might not make that much difference to the GSXR given it's running c.75% power limiter so has a very flat power graph!

How much of a difference does using a wheel have compare to a pad? i know with the wheel you can gently keep the acceleration on whereas with the pad you`ll come off the accel

Still currently 8th @ Suzuka and can see more time to shave off but my spare time has run out, so that's it for me. It's a shame as I had just started to get really good times (.6's) at T1 which is very much needed to compete further.

It was fun while it lasted. 👍

really need to get a .6 in t1 I am still in the mid .8s
yinto is still pulling at least a length and a half on me before the first corner :ouch:

gonna try whole new gear box tommorrow

All about your exit speed of the last turn. The higher your exit speed of the last turn, the faster you cross S/F.

Mate im using your ghost as a marker, after the first corner the S's start the 1st right of the S`s i seem to catch you up, but its the last big bend of the S`s where you pull away as i still cant figure the best approach to that bend, if you get that area i mentioned right you`ll be at the top with yanito

Depends on both the car and the track, and how skilled you are... the more tricky the car is to drive the easier it will be to drive with a wheel, but then you have people like Doodle and Numbnuts who seem to be just as quick with the pad as >99% are with the wheel!

For me, I'm about 1s a lap quicker in the Elise and about 0.2s quicker in the GSXR with the wheel vs the pad.

I got 1:27.xxx in the gsx using reverse cam & it was a valid lap if anyone wants to try it.

Sorry, what I meant to say was I never get higher than 4th gear. In the first straight I am in the low 190's (km/h) when I hit the corner and usually leave it there, in 4th, often till the top of the hill.

As I said, I copied Numbnuts tune but couldn't get anywhere near his gearing.
Mine ended up at;

1st 6.0 2nd 4.3 3rd 3.2 4th 2.5 5th 2.0 6th 1.7 final 3.000

Max speed (top) 288km/h.

I'll try to lower the top speed to around 220km/h and see if it makes a difference before I try and get a 'loaner car'.

Lowered the top speed (final gear) to 140km/h and made a 59:511 run, now under 1000 @ # 994.

Anyway will now try and get loaner.
