I think the rationality ship sailed a couple of days ago. :dopey:

I guess people just don't learn. If you expect nothing you (by you i mean some of the GTP community) won't be dissapointed. And if something does come , good , you'll feel much happier.

Its like the unlimited endurance in Hype Train on Daytona.

It keeps running and running and running in circles without a clear destination and pretty much the same thing every lap....

.....until it crashed.

I'm aware it was in GT5. That, however, doesn't really mean anything to GT6. Unlike the Course Creator, which is confirmed by PD, no such share feature has been announced by anyone.
Maintenance period = Must be bringing back a feature they cut from a previous game and never even said they'd bring it back...

Seems legit.

I went back in my first post and I see what you guys are seeing in my post. I'm going to edit it. I didn't think it was the message my first post was sending, but while reading it, I can see that I've definitely sent a whole different message than I intended to. My bad.

That being said, my second post, however, actually reflect what I really meant which is, IF we get the course maker after all these long maintenances, having it back as part of a function linked to CM so we can share our tracks with our friend would make sense.

Can we manage to keep the thread open this time? I'd like to be able to discuss things as time draws near to the maintenance period.

yup last one ended with a disaster-er shut down by the admins!

Regarding the long-time periods back to back on two days my thoughts are that PD are upgrading their servers and maybe (just maybe) are testing functionality and stability of some new content in the game.

after Kaz blocking any thoughts about new tracks coming to GT6, Pikes Peak is a dream! but he said that some new cars will be coming to the game that are NOT VGT, so I think they are preparing for a big update. but let's not be so hyped about it, because after all, it's still PD and those guys are full of surprises.

*THESE ARE MY THOUGHTS ONLY AND THEY DO NOT MEAN ANYTHING*

These long maintance periods do seem like they mean something big is coming to GT but in reality PD are probably just working on their servers since lately they have been quite bad for a lot of people. Obviously I myself would absolutely love course maker but it will hopefully come when it is ready.

Now now lets all not go mad and yell explosions or cm confirmed before this thread gets locked!

Why more hype? Did no one see what happened 2 days ago? What I get from the word "Maintenance" is just maintenance (that will hopefully fix online even though I rarely ever use it anymore)

Double 8 hour server maintenance and you expect nothing at all? Seems just as silly to me. And in almost all cases in the past months, when a maintenance was announced the monthly update followed. Just looks like it's something big this time.

Also I don't buy into the "they just try to improve servers", they have been a broken mess since GT6 release and weren't much better the 3 years of GT5, now they suddenly do something about it?

The last time the maintenance thread was closed, was because someone said that it should be closed because it probably bothered him/her to see people speculate and get hyped ever more as the maintenance was going to start. I don't know about you guys but we know what goes on in Maintenance threads every single time there's one.

Most of the time title of these threads start with "WE MIGHT GET NEW STUFF" then follows the date of the maintenance. Then we start to speculate about what might/might not be in the update, we get a little carried away at times but it's good fun, than there's people who are always like "expect nothing blah blah blah" they don't really participate in the thread but we're used to them by now so we ignore them most of the time. But my point is, we know what we're going to find in maintenances threads. A couple of hype junkies, a couple of junkies who got out of hype rehab, then there's the one judging the hype junkies.

We should make some kind of HYPOHOLICS ANONYMOUS MEETING. Hello, I'm Powerslide77 and I'm a hypoholic. :gtpflag:

Bit too late on my part for the yelling explosions bit. Sorry about that. :dopey:

It would be freaking miracle if the maintenance actually resulted in a more reliable online experience.

D-Don't be so quick to judge! I-It's bad practice! :nervous:

That is one dusty 8-ball.

Anyway, now we're in for another waiting period. It also appears that NeoGAF is down at this time; I think @Whistle Snap has faith in PoDi so strong it crashed GAF's servers.

Last maintenace was 3.5 hours , bigger than usual , and everyone thought it was the Course Maker but it was nothing at all , zero , nada.

Hope i'm wrong , but i don't think i am , atleast for now.

If there is anything to expect it would be FIA related at most since it has been said there would be an FIA update in spring of this year, but I still don't expect it.

Remember the last maintenance. Nothing was announced, therefore no update followed. The infamous Double Maintenance last year, no update followed that either. Nothing has been announced so far, and you're expecting an update? You're just setting yourself up for disappointment. Either that or you're trying to stir hype amongst others.

Well they must have done something, we just don't see it yet.

That one wasn't announced to last a total of 16 hours on 2 days. I wouldn't expect something if we didn't know there's huge updates still coming for GT6. All previous updates had a maintenance announcement in advance, it's unusual if an update isn't connected to one like the last one.

1. I made the Hype vid for fun. I personally believe it will happen, because eventually when I say this I will be right, and then I can smile. Also it took three hours to make so enjoy it.
2. I believe that SOMETHING will happen. Or PD is trolling, knowing that we automaticially associate "maintainance"with "massive OMG Course Maker Every Car Ever BMW E30 (why do you care so much?) FIA Spec 20.4.1 and a Cannon"and Kaz wants a good laugh.

EDIT: You wanted an explosion, right? Will blowing up a 30,000km across ring do?

This is my speculation either Version 2.0 or massive updates that will take quite a bit of time to upload through the Playstation Network for it to be done in two segments.
So for some people, it may take 24 hours to download the update? If we get one of course...:sly:
