problem is that their series, not seasons, a good solid season runs for half of the year in full, for 20-25 episodes (half the year). These are 6+6 in a year, that run, about half the year apart, if it were 10+10, that'd be better, but the BBC knows it'll make just as much money from 6 episodes as it does from 10 :/

6 is enough for the mega budget they have set for each episode etc

I'd be happier if they do less in the episodes but we get more of them.

Yep that is the reason for sure, we're getting more expensive, but less quality - I'd personally love every 2nd episode to have a budget car challenge, that'd be awesome, they should have atleast 1 or 2 a series anyway, but yes, divide by 10 not by 6.

One thing holding the series back is having fixed presenters. How can the show continue without them? There's nobody to step up and take their places.

Have the big budget stuff done with the big 3 be only 1/2 an episode on average, mixed up with other segments done cheaper and with guest/trial hosts, and do twice as many episodes per season.

Ya kinda like Mythbusters. They originally only had the two main guys than realized they would need more people to get more myths done. They did that earlier on so there wasn't much of a transition for the viewers but with this show it's gonna be a huge change. I can't even imagine it with different people.

I imagine they'll stop the show for a few years, then bring it back with new people. Hopefully soon, its gone on long enough with these 3, we need fresh faces.

Mark Webber has just tweeted 'Topgear today...enjoyed it, shown on BBC Sunday' with a picture of where they sit to do the news and SIARPC, hasn't he been on before?!

Well we all know who Mark and Jeremy will be talking about (taking the pi** out of) won't we?

I think they should stop for a year or two, then they can go off and make their own shows and programmes and then hopefully they can come back with some fresh new ideas...

Like I said before, it's Andy Wilman that needs replacing. Most of the ideas are his. But then as I also said before if he went, Clarkson would go as well.

I'd bet he has his hands tied as well from the BBC Hierarchy ,with Top gear being that popular a change of formula might be an unneeded move.

It's not that Top Gear is stale or bad (they are getting there though)but it has been a while since we saw a great Top Gear episode.

If that's what you're after, perhaps watch the US version.

Oh wait, that's just recycled TGUK antics as well.

I liked the episode.
Bit late for the sesto elemento review it's a 3 year old car right?
SIARPC was quite boring but I laughed because he looks like a walking corpse.

I miss the early news segments where they would complain about speed limits and traffic cams and make fun of politicians. Seem like that sort of chatter has been nixed by the BBC execs... I don't know, they felt more like bad boy car lovers back then. Well, James in a commie intellectual sort of way as opposed to Jeremy's libertarian hooligan bad boy way. I guess Hammond's always just been the enthusiastic puppy dog that sits between the two of them and does their errands.

Remember a little while ago when they had a parade of British cars and vehicles on the mall, well I think we will see it tonight because Jeremy is testing the Jag F-Type...

...also there's a documentary on the German auto industry on after TG on BBC2, its part of they're German season...apparently...

We will see it tonight, its the last episode of the series. Looking forward to seeing Mark Webber drive the Liana as well, should be interesting to see if Clarkson brings up Seb.

I loved James' review of the NBFL, it reminds me of that "fastest bus" challenge a few years back. :D

Couldn't have asked for a better end to this series really. For all their effort though, they could have made it a few minutes longer than is was. But whatever.

I missed most of Hammond's Range Rover test at the beginning, but the rest was pretty good. Even squeezed in a sarcastic remark about the Hovervan episode. :P

Why did they waste so much time on the bus review instead of making that fantastic last part twice as long? Odd, but yeah really nice end segment.

Brilliant episode, my favourite of the series.

The Range Rover test was well done and interesting but also sensible. The news was funny (they might get in some trouble for that however lets wait and see.). The bus segment was a bit unusual however funny and wasn't overly absurd. The star in a reasonably priced car was brilliant, the interview was funny (however looked slightly awkward.). And then the Jaguar and British cars ending was perfect, really ended the series on a high.

However they haven't done any cheap car challenges this season :( they were my favourite parts.

Now only another 6 months to wait for the next one.

Oh yeah I forgot about that, why they wasted three or four minutes talking about Eric Pickles face I don't know.

That was the best part lol. He drew it and it looked so funny than the guy looked so similar lol. Said it's fun for the whole family since you can draw his face on your thumb too.

Judging by Jezza's Twitter account, he wasn't too pleased about "Das Auto" following the Top Gear finale.

Aside from the News Segment, great Episode. Range rover sport bit was very good,Bus segment was Meh to be honest,Webber Brilliant and that last segment was different and stunning, that bit with the F1 cars on the streets  .

A good tribute to British Engineering and agreed it should have been much longer.

Sad that TVR and Lotus (2 of my favorite british car makers) weren't on show(one being dead and all  )
