Depends, it does confirn to us that whoever the Stig is, he's one hell of a driver and I mean not just a good driver, a top level driver, since we don't have other drivers testing the Zonda F, Enzo, Sagaris etc to comapre how well he drives thoes it's a good thing we can see him take on the track in the Liana (I haven't seen it yet) so we can see how well he does do it. Nigel Mansell had 5 laps of the track driving and a few laps as a passenger to get to know it, not a lot but if the Stig wasn't top rate, he wouldn't have been able to match Nigel's time.

I loved the end of the episode on that radio station. It really must be harder than you think. The complaints.

Yes, but bare in mind that the kinda people who normally listen to those stations are used to listening to presenters who laugh vaguely every so often at apparent nothingness, and then play a few jackson 5 songs...

Listening to that, and then listening to clarkson talking about how some vectra is causing a roadblock is a bit of a contrast . Personally, i'd have the latter, but some people like my mum would have the former :D

It did suck though, i have to say. Poor Irene.

If anyone missed it yesterday(like me:guilty:) Its coming on again today @ 7 on bbc2:tup:

Ahh great that means I can watch the first half, which I ended up missing yesterday.

The radio show was hillarious, I swear these new segments are just seeing how much trouble they can get in.

Yet again, the boys runs from a situation that got too difficult in their hands. :D Surprising time from the Corvette Z06, really wonderful lap! And I think JC meant that as a track car, it's really performant, but as a road car you live and commune with, it must be quite less performant and more irritating (clunky ride, rear suspension design, etc).

The Dodge Caliber titled as world's most pointless car made my day! :sly:

P.S. Mrs. Smith > you. :ouch:

Great, so I can do that whole deja-vu thing and eat the other half of the pizza that I was eating when I watched it last night ;)

It should also be on the BBC website, as it was last week...

Oh bloody hell I just realised it's on again now, i've already missed 7 mins and the Z06 review. :grumpy:

Edit: I'd love to see a stig lap done all incar with the pedal cameras like Best motoring.

Regarding the Z06, JC loved it for track use, hated it for road use, basically he'd pick the standard C6 at the drop of a hat over the Z06 for every day use and wouldn't consider the Z06 at all, but as a track car it's phenominal.

ood episode, not as good as last weks but still good, I liked that Tomcat, Land Rover chassis, light weight body and a big TVR engine, oh yes. I laughed when Hammond crashed it . The Stig isn't as good a driver as Mansel, her was only just quicker and he's lapped that track hundereds of times as opposed to the 5 or 6 Mansel had done, the time does however show that he his a top class driver despite that because a race driver who is not top class driver probably wouldn't have managed to beat Mansell even with a lot more practice.

You know how they finally put the stig in Liana to find out his lap time, why didnt they get Hammond May and Clarkson to do a lap aswell I would really like to have seen how they did.....

Also seeing as they have celebrities on, why not have one with Clarkson as the guest..... he would have plenty to talk about including car history, so someone like May could play host..... I think that would be really good...

He's been a guest (and a host) on plenty of chat show's like Friday night with Jonathan Woss. Clarkson say's enough about car's on TopGear, if he want's to talk about car history, they'll do a piece on car history that's how I see it anyway. That said, he does have plenty of interesting stories to tell when he does appear on other show's.

Doesn't matter as the Vette is just as good, for only a fraction of what the Ferrari cost. Don't forget that they also mentioned the 575M is being replaced by another overpriced Ferrari, which is MUCH worse looking than the Corvette.
The Z06 is most likely use cheaper parts, which are bound to break in a quicker way then the 575m. While the 575m uses more expensive parts.

No cheap materials is not why it's cheap, it's cheap because of low development costs, and less time has been spent refining it, a Ferrari for example is 10 times a better road car than the Z06 was, the Z06 is just incredible on the track. Which would I buy, well neiher, the Ferrari is too expansive, and the Z06 is crap on the roads, I'd take the DB9 thank you.

Magnesium, Titanium and Carbon Fibre are not exactly cheap materials.

It Z06 uses some Magnesium, Titanium and Carbon Fibre which are great materials but it doesn't use all that much (does have more carbon fibre than I expected though), But yes the Z06 is priced great (but wouldn't be if they sold it here).

Clarkson did drive the Liana at the start. He did a 1:50, IIRC.

But we know your not buying a DB9, but rather a Sagaris. Anyway what cars do you guys think will be on the next ep of Top Gear.

James and Richard attempt to answer one of the world's great unanswered questions: is it possible to build a truly amphibious car that works as well on water as it is does on land? They've each come up with their own unique design but will any of them actually work? We drive they're creations to a lake in Staffordshire to find out. Also in the show actor Philip Glenister (Life on Mars) is the star in the reasonably priced car and the Lotus Exige S is power tested by on the track by Jeremy and the Stig.

just a guess though ;)

I was going to say Sagaris look's doubtfull at the moment but realistically it simply isn't happening. I've not earnt enough, I was earning enough last year but the ammount of work I was doing was killing me, and then I got ill earlier this year and stopped working at home completely. Right now I'm working part time hours and that's literally it. I'm not ill now, but I'm not overworking myself either (I'm almost not working myself point blank ), and I won't be again. I might pick up the mobile phones again soon, but I'll be keeping it smallscale and supressing any desire to expand it, beacuse that wasn't a nice a experience. I would possibly suprising to some people, rather an Aston Martin DB9 to a TVR Sagaris, though there is that small matter of £110k, right now I'm chucking away and plans to spend £50k let alone that much. With that said, I am interested in the Cerbera replacement and the price for it, if the prices for the next wave of TVR's is consitent with current TVR prices, will start around £35k, which could be a possiblity. But right now, a sportscar isn't on my list of priorities and things to do, just a possible thing that I might look into again in the future.

all of which depends on if TVR survive, from what recent news we are hearing about them....

TVR&FF: I can't believe you said the ZO6 uses cheap materials. :dunce:

TVR
will survive, the news saying that they're in trouble was based on mis-information. The closing down of the Blackpool plant has been planned since Smolenski took over TVR and dip in sales is nothing drastic, but also it's due to people wanting the next lineup of TVR's, which isn' realy a bad thing. It does show just how small an audience TV targets though.

Its no guess, because you know the source that I go too.

Guys a TVR will be showcased in the episode of BBC2's Top Gear. Which will be filmed on 31 May and broadcast on 4 June. And most likely it will be on of the new TVR's.
