Update 1.03 (Released - January 14th)

Interesting. PD exist in a weird market where most of the companies actually have to KEEP UP with the consumer base after making a full purchase afterwards. PD as far as I see it, do keep up, is one of the few companies that support their product not only now, but in the future as well. Look at GT5. It was released in Nov 2010... and it's still digitally supported. Yet, folk here beg for close contact attention.

A good majority of this weird market has annual product releases and doesn't bother to keep up with the consumer base - not even a tad. Maybe release some DLC for a bonus cash grab. Fix it on the next installment. GT6 has been out on the market little more than ONE MONTH, just to let you know.

Why is everyone so much a Homer fanboy supporter of PD? PD takes our money, brags about the number of people that race, number of races etc but still over promises and under delivers. Why is that acceptable to anybody?

The game released like what 24 working days ago (give or take national holidays over xmas and New Year... and new content above what's available straight from the disc:

Mercedes Vision GT
Mario Andretti's Hudson
Red Bull X2014 Junior
BMW M4 Coupe (joint unveiling)
Toyota FT-1
Several Seasonals
..and number of smaller enhancements/fixes, extra A-Spec events.

In a couple of weeks time we get 2 new versions of the X2014, and new events to master.

... and you're getting so bent out of shape over the fact they put the wrong date on the in game announcement.. Self important troll is self important.

I think the first point at which PD might start to let us down will be on the monthly track updates....and even that might have only been mentioned in an interview, rather than being officially announced.

BS. PD doesn't TAKE our money, you give it to them in exchange for a game you wanted to buy, nobody forced you.

Oh I know. They announced it for the very first time an hour ago and it STILL isn't out yet, the bastards. Don't they know it's already tomorrow in some parts of the world? So lazy.

If you kept up with the announcements correctly, nothing about content should suprise you, as youve been notified beforehand (though the m4 was a pleasant suprise for many).
 
Ah, I see, people want the repeatable seasonals back so they can make money really fast. It's understandable. That said, we have at least the FT-1 seasonal tomorrow (and probably others) and then the Red Bull challenges at the end of the month which will probably pay out a lot of money, too.

It's always about the money. Or virtual money, in this case.

Somebody said we are getting an update tomorrow. Admittedly I haven't tried to confirm that yet.

I'm not ticked nor do I think anybody is ticked about a release. I'm ticked about PD half releasing games but charging full price for their games then delaying indefinitely their updates. Other people are more than happy to accept paying for an incomplete game and arguing with the reasonable people here that we should all share their view that it's ok for a company to take their money then not deliver the promised goods.

Now yer caught up.
 
I'm confused why people are raging over the updates... PD doesn't HAVE to make updates, honestly the game is great even right now... all in all, if nothing changes ever again, I think we should all still be happy that we have this great game to play... PD doesn't owe us weekly updates, they don't have to add extra content honestly... I think they should release a working product, so I think technical things like the awful AI need to be fixed and BSpec needs to be added... but the livery editor isn't happening, we have the tracks that we have and while it would be nice to have better sounds, the marginal utility of them spending time and resources on it is very small...

Honestly, it's not a big deal! Enjoy yourself, have fun, it's a great great game!

I would be right with you if 1. they neglected to notify us on what would be missing or 2. If they charged us for 1.03........ since neither are true, and everything has gone pretty much as expected, im just chilling, racing, & enjoying myself.

Then you shouldn't have a problem because neither of those things have happened.

Of course you're repeatedly ignoring everything that tells you this and instead operating in some dream world where speculation on third party website becomes cast-iron industry guarantee on Sony's behalf (since Sony publish everything, not PD), but if that's how you want to do it it's your call.

PD announced the features list about a month before the game was released. If you're butt-hurt because you bought the game and then found something was missing, it's entirely your own fault.

1.03 is coming, but yes, I doubt it will include much more also.

I gave PD my money which they gladly took then handed me a game that was only 1/3 of what was promised.

Um...nice list of crumbs throw to us.

Mercedes Vision- in game product placement advertising from Mercedes! Yay! Bet Mercedes would have been ticked off if their ad was delayed.

Same thing with the BMW M4

And easy seasonal races with onetime payouts. Replay value: 0

It's not acceptable for a multi million dollar company to set a date then come back with Mea Culpa, we put the wrong date in when that company has a track record of missed release dates and underwhelming product fulfillments.

It may be difficult to comprehend but legitimate critisism is not the same as trolling
 
Apart from M4 interior and FT-1 I expect small bug fixes and maybe some cosmetic enhancements to SP and MP. Imho if other features (or anything "big") were coming in 1.03 they would've said so like they did for those 2 cars.
