Interesting. PD exist in a weird market where most of the companies actually have to KEEP UP with the consumer base after making a full purchase afterwards. PD as far as I see it, do keep up, is one of the few companies that support their product not only now, but in the future as well. Look at GT5. It was released in Nov 2010... and it's still digitally supported. Yet, folk here beg for close contact attention.
A good majority of this weird market has annual product releases and doesn't bother to keep up with the consumer base - not even a tad. Maybe release some DLC for a bonus cash grab. Fix it on the next installment. GT6 has been out on the market little more than ONE MONTH, just to let you know.

Are you even paying attention to what's going on? PD NEVER announced a timeline for the next update until just a little while ago. How can they fail as a company for being late on an update that isn't supposed to be out yet? We know we are getting one update tomorrow and another at the end of the month.
I wouldn't throw around terms like "gross incompetence" if I were in your situation.

I'm happy. They got the word out, it comes out tomorrow. The update that everyone has been patie-impatiently been waiting for has finally arrived.
But come on chaps...we are acting a bit spoiled here. I was expecting to go on here and see a lot of "thanks" or "can't wait to get it", instead I see a lot of "I don't understand, release it all at once"...

We're getting the FT-1. The PD news article says the VGTs come some time later this year. No date specified.

Any news about the new sounds? I'm really looking forward to them, I'm particularly interested in the V8s, as they were the engines that sounded most unrealistic from my point of view. The Red Bulls sounded great so my expectations are somewhat high.
But it is unconfirmed whether or not 1.03 will include the new sounds, and honestly I don't think it will. But the rest of the update looks good, I've been waiting for course maker mainly.

Where does it say that update 1.04 is coming on the end of the month? I just loaded the game and I saw the notification that the second half of the red bull challenge will be available at the end of the month but I didn't see any mention of update 1.04. For all we know the car will be in the next update and will just need a small patch to unlock the event.

We do not actually now if PD is about to include additional features apart from the Toyota and the updated BMW. I wouldn't raise my expectations too high...

Looks like just shy of 6 years.
Not to mention the announcements of "eminent and coming soon release of GT5" announcements from PD for several years. Then there was the delay...followed by the OTHER delay.
See a pattern there?
And don't start on platform transition problems. If the PS3 released in 2007 companies had the programming software as early as 2005. So it takes PD 5 years to program and release a game and still not release it as scheduled? That's still unacceptable. And let's not forget when GT 5 was released, it was buggy and still not a complete product.
Let's also not loose focus. 1.03 still hasn't been released.

How about unacceptable business practices?
No PD rarely announces an exact date for anything. If they did they would have to commit to that date or loose face and honor when they once again miss that deadline.
I don't know how some people do business who post to this forum but in the real world companies as well as people's reputations are to a large extent based on the promises they make and whether they live up to those commitments as they said they would. At this point PD has a reputation of delays and over promising while under delivering yet they still expect their customers to pay full price for their products.

The second January update was announced by PD in response to the incorrect Red Bull X2014 Challenge date of January 1st. They said that, it was wrong, they'd fix in it tomorrow's update and that the X2014 Challenges would be available at the end of the month.
Also, so far they've only announced a vehicle update (which the M4 might not be the only one that gets one) and the FT-1 Concept. Seems like this patch might be a big one. I'm curious to see if any VGT are actually announced.
