Has anyone noticed the sound mixing levels are different than in 1.05 ? The changes in volume between view changes seems to be more extreme, I am using living room since 1.05.

I'd like to comment on the whole GT6 is crashing/freezing all the time discussion.

I have a 4 year old Slim PS3, that's never been dusted (even though the environment here is pretty dusty - I'm one hell of a lazy cleaner). I am not having ANY issue with GT6 whatsoever, apart from the odd connection mishap online. The game runs pretty smoothly too - Bathurst replays are about the only time I have serious frame drops.

From a software perspective, it simply CANNOT be true that the exact same software behaves differently on identical machines.

There's only 2 real reasons I can think of that cause these issues.

- There is some obscure setting in the XMB that affects the game in a severe way, somehow
- The cell processor is known for having a faulty core on a not-so-small percentage of consoles. It does have a backup in place for this very reason, but it could still have a severe impact on performance.

I think the latter is the most likely; it is also something you cannot check without professional equipment.

Still using small theatre. Maybe it's time to change.

I've noticed a bit more exhaust noise in the cockpit cam... it's just me?

Yes the sounds are much louder by default from view to view. That quasi hood/roof view is by far the loudest, in car the sound is nearly identical to the nose cam(weird) also depends on engine placement and chase cam is a little less noisy compared to the roof/hood cam. Everything is louder and seems to have low end grumble or something added for upshifts. Now id they can get around to returning the S7 and a few other cars to their older GT5 original engine and exhaust notes we'll be good. This seems like a blanket tweak and the size of the update is rather small so I'm guessing it was some flags for things downloaded prior. Also the pitch of the sounds have been lowered a bit, the x Junior made it easy to notice this as that car was a wailing banshee when it arrived, still wails just not as pitchy.

I haven't had any crashes with the game related to simply playing and I don't have that pixelated smoke issue people have been talking about either. My settings are 1080p, audio is set to multi ouput since I use a headset and I use only LCPCM 5.1 41k and 48k. In game my settings for video is sharpen and audio is 5.1 LCPCM 48kHz at small theater setting.
I am also on a 3rd gen fat PS3 CECHP01 with it's original 160GB 5200 deskstar drive. Just hopped into my Mustang V8 GT and headed to Nurburgring F1 did some burnouts and no pixelalted smoke at all.

Also on another note, is it me or did my FFB settings change or the game is a bit more refined especially in race cars they all have a very heavy FFB feel you notice a bit more and when your wheels leave the ground for any reason you feel that so quickly. I think the suspension calculations got a ramping up, they feel more alive than I remembered from the day before the update, could just be me. I'll check the settings to be certain.

This is entirely false and people need to stop spreading this rumor. I have a slim line PS3 (not the newest one, the one before) that has been VERY well taken care of. Dusted and blown out once a month, constantly deleting old game saves not being used anymore, very little music and pictures on it, no videos, 90% of the hard drive space is left on it.

I constantly get crashes, freezes, and lock ups in GT6 and ONLY GT6. GTA V, Skate 3, Uncharted 3, Dirt 3, F1 2012, BF3, TLoU, all work fine with no issues. I played GTA V a few nights ago for probably 4 straight hours online without a single issue. GT6 has frozen or crashed almost every time I play it.

The crashes and freezes in GT6 is NOT hardware related.
Funny I only get crashes in grandtheft auto

Noticed this today with the FTO Super Touring Car. Loud in hood and chase cams, quiet in bumper and cockpit.

Using small theatre.

I would wish that on racing cars, cockpit view should be loud, just a bit lower than hood :) I've been racing and tuning my SaReNi United / Reiter Engineering Camaro GT3 replica ( using the road car and touring car version ) from before update - 1.05 to 1.06, I noticed immediately that cockpit and bumper gets quieter, and hood gets louder :(

I already asked you yesterday, but what are the classes in GT6 that you're tuning cars to?
At the moment I'm building mid-size to full size cars, from 435pp to 568pp stock and then the tune stepped up or parts added or switched around to get the best performance for a given class, or pp group.

If I had a glitch @BrandonW77, I had a glitch. I've ran in tuning-prohibited, and I'm very aware that you can only adjust the brakes and power limiter before hand.

Well done on completely missing the question.

Griff, nobody knows. It's a mystery to everyone but Zuel

Funny guy. Today you are very aware of how tuning prohibited lobbies work but yesterday:

I said that you can build the car to class and still run it in those [tuning prohibited] rooms, I done it once already. As long as it meets the class and it doesn't have a chassis bar or the power limiter touched then the car can be ran

You could have ended it at nobody knows:lol:

For discussing the features and merits/drawbacks or moral impact of update 1.06 for GT6.

*snip*

Adjustments to the Open Lobby
- From the Member List, it is now possible to see the Performance Points, maximum output and weight of the cars that have joined the room.
- An "Overall Best" time is now displayed on screen while in Practice, Qualifying, Time Trial and Drift Trial.
- The minimum value for [Max Power Limit] and [Minimum Weight] has been changed from 10 to 1.
- The options available in the [Race Type] menu within [Room Settings] of the "Event Settings" screen have been changed. New options include:
  • -Race for Fun
    -Race for Real
    -Cruising
    -Make Friends
    -Show Off Your Cars
    -Share Tips and Info
    -Café
Other improvements and adjustments
- The Traction Control System (TCS) which is activated when driving off-track is now used only in sand/gravel pits.
- The strength of the "Real" option for the [Slipstream Strength] parameter within [Race Settings] when creating a room in [Open Lobby], has been weakened.

Wonder what this new "cafe" option is?

I thought that was called "Tuning"

But don't forget the steps though. But how many steps are there, how big are the steps and will I be exhausted after reaching the last step? I don't have as much energy these days.

Is step tuning an aerobic workout while tuning your car? Do I need to buy a stepping excerise machine? Or is it a genre of music, like dubstep, or 2-step? Should I be playing dubstep while tuning my cars?

Totally irrelevant and missing point as to what these "classes" are.

@BrandonW77, reinstall after updates is good choice to get rid of most crashes, also seems better on slim than on fatty (IMO).
On fatty after updates it just started to go worse, but reinstall and it solves most problems, sound problems, pitstop menu bug solved by reinstalling.
Those were on fatty, slim handles better all situations.

@Ridox2JZGTE, maybe some changes on sound mixing, can't be 100% sure, also some changes on gravity noticed, most people saying that as part of physics change, feels like just different gravity.

All three of mine are slims. By reinstall, you mean delete the game data and reinstall the game and all updates? My main PS3 runs a digital copy, not sure if that matters.

Yes, export your valuable replays and photos and do reinstall. Delete game data, nothing else, reinstall(re-download) and input your codes again.
Worth of testing, my first reinstall was "test" with successful result.

Eh, with the digital version that's an hours long process. It's not quite enough of a problem for me to bother with all of that. I do get way more crashes than I ever did with GT5 but it's still not that many. Maybe once a week, if that, and I play several times a week.

Lol. You still haven't answered the question. What classes?
Mid size class 400 to 465pp, full size class 562 to 600pp.

I've already answered you question.
If you got to take the time to make a mem as they're called or anyone, then you got trouble. LOL OH MY GOSH, starting to hurt. LOL.
