For once, I actually enjoyed a VGT Seasonal Event. The Nissan one, to be precise. Tokyo R246 was fun to drive around on with this car. The Aston Martin one... Egh... An 800+ HP car on a track as tiny as the short version of the Red Bull Ring? At least I was done quickly

Haven't tried the painted caliper thing. To be honest I don't like GT6 enough to put more time into it besides unlocking the new VGT cars :guilty: Maybe grab a couple of laps on the 'Ring every so often in an online lobby but that's it... Bought the game for my boyfriend two days ago so hopefully that'll get me playing again!

I'm also starting to hope for some less angular cars from the VGT-designers. I know it's the sort of cars they make nowadays, but... Ah well. Maybe Mini will surprise me with something funny. :sly:
what about the Daihatsu?
I dislike the angular cars too...

True, we still don't have underglow neons yet. =\ That will be the day I stop playing GT altogether.
When I said custom licence plates I dint mean flashy, I meant you choose a country/state then you get to put text in. Just basic real life style

And yes I'm with you on neons. Not my favourite items

So less than 1gb like I said. That still leaves another gb - 2 cars do not take up that much data, maybe about 300mb.

Back in GT5, the GT TV content, if I remember correctly most short video around 4-6+ minutes feature like the EVO X and GTR HD 1080p videos are around 200-300+MB. PD uses good compression software :) I have 1080p HD movies with 4-6GB and 1.5 to 2+ hours length with same quality as PD videos - and it has 5.1 DTS or DD track.

But then people will put in swears and stuff and PD will be like "nope, not gunna happen". What they should do is make a few pre-made license plate designs, one of the make logo, model logo, blank plate, PD logo, Gran Turismo logo, and a Sony logo.

Thanks! Which red is the closest to Brembo one?

I was trying to figure it out, but I was so excited I just used the deepest red I could find. I think this is Rosso Alfa or Hellrot. I honestly don't remember :P

Did the Alpine A110 always have these old school rally wheels?

If so, why was I not informed of this?

p.s. excuse the incredibly ugly photo.

Okay, that is definitely new! I've tried many cars, including old cars, and all I get is those generic O.Z rally wheels.

I miss GT4 were you could choose wheels for each type of tire you had. I loved using those black steel wheels on street cars when doing dirt racing.

Just censor swears like they do on text chat so you can't have certain words

Plus if censorship really is the problem than you can just forget them adding livery editor

Haha...if a swear word on a license plate bothers someone, I'm guessing being passed by a 5 foot vagina won't make them very happy either:eek::lol:.

The strange lobby behavior seems to indicate some fiddling with how online functions, and could be a hint that "clubs" are coming...

Personally I would think online features would be priority 1 considering how anemic the career was... And that they seem to be a requirement to any online sharing... Something I would think is needed for the track builder to share tracks... B-spec, and any mobile functionality...

Not sure whether you guys are aware of this but apparently the Nissan VGT has 'KERS', activated by the assigned nitrous oxide button.
wait, really? I got to try this out.

I guess it's also refilled like the Toyota TS030? Harvested under braking?

Can you use it on the time trial? I might have to go back and try again if so..

Yup. It's three bars when full, recharges under braking and coasting and is used up when you hit the assigned N2O button. It's pretty potent too, the difference is noticeable.

Probably. I managed to gold it before I even knew that the car had KERS, so I should be able to improve my time considerably.

Oh yeah, I cleared gold pretty easily without it. now I just wanna know how much faster I can go.

I see, there was no need to move up from DVDs since we can have all that 1080p goodness easily in 4GB. We are not talking about crap posted on the web here. GT6 shipped on bluray and PD is I am sure delivering either bluray or close quality.

Using Blu-Ray as a standard, we can do the math. Some quick internet searching shows that the average Blu-Ray film is around 24.5gb total, and the average modern film length is around 110 min. That means an average Blu-Ray quality film uses around 22.3mb/min. A 5 min film would be 111.5mb (average).

Yes, that's larger than my low 35mb estimate, but I was working on the assumption they weren't running Blu-Ray level bitrates. I corrected my statement later after watching the videos and seeing the edits and quality, and estimated "80mb to 120mb." HERE

And, to be clear, the industry left DVD for a few reasons, only one being storage limits, which is really the only difference between DVD and Blu-Ray. They are just storage media read by different lasers. Blu-Ray isn't a file format or type. Original DVD players were made with strict limitations on the types of files they could play and the amount of data they could process. There were no concessions made for future technology advances. When technology advanced, DVD producers were stuck having to conform to the original DVD player specs, so progress was halted and Blu-Ray/HD-DVD were born.

That's 222.7 MB/min (24500 / 110 = 222.7) and around 1.1GB for both VGT movies.
