no official notice yet for maintenance. doubt we'll see it this week.
Update notice only comes about 24-48 hours before it's happening, if it's to be on Friday then we will likely have notification tomorrow which I think will be the case since it's been Thursday/Friday previously.

Game already struggles with 20.
it does online yes, but I believe there were 40 cars on one of the mission challenges on gt sport, around lago maggiore

edit: okay just double checked and 30 cars were on the track in that mission! oops. 30 would definitely be an interesting step-up from 20 though

I feel like we're going to get a maintenance notice tonight for tomorrow. I'm going to be completely optimistic PD have "tried" to be predictable and want to drop the update on the 25th, a month after the last one.

It'd make sense... with any other developer.

I don't think i've ever been less excited about the cars arriving.
Same here. Mr Kaz stated before launch that GT7 would go back to the roots of GT and focus on Japanese car history. I'd expect more content in that direction, instead of a modded camaro.

As a new track, historic Fuji layouts would be great imo.

It could be a new VGT or a variation of an existing one
It would be the ultimate disillusion ...

Well, that's not a new track, but rather a new layout for an already present track!

Wow, that's a bloody good guess. Considering Kaz is an absolute fanatic of the Ford GT, it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest 🙄

Yeah, the fact that they are "teasing" 3 cars is sort of insulting. This isn't the racing games of the 90's where you had like 10 cars. When you have 10 cars, addition of 3 is a big deal. But when you have 430+ cars, I don't particularly care for 3 more, it's nothing in the grand scheme of the game. And what use are all these cars when I can't race most of them? The thing that we need are events. If they would be teasing 15 new events, I would be pumped. But 3 cars? Eh, don't care. I just want a way to be able to afford the cars that are already here.

For me, I would care if they were useful and/or exciting additions (e.g. estate cars, etc) but when it's a randomly tuned Camaro and a prototype Le Man's racer which has no direct competitors, it does kill any potential excitement.
Someone I know said that Sony is the kind of company that brings out poor games if the sales are good (because they don't care and know people will buy it regardless) and great games when sales are poor (got to make a profit) Looks like there is some truth to that.
Not saying GT7 is a poor game at all, just that they can now rely more on the branding and the name to push out a product at the very bare minimum.

Worked fine in GT Sport. And had 24 in some instances too (FIA). Bigger lobbies would do wonders. 16 really doesn’t cut it these days.
GT7 is not GT Sport. The Framerate on my PS5 struggles at times with 20. It can do no more without some sort of optimization.

Gillet Vertigo of some sort?

This month's 3 cars atleast are an improvement over the April content update. But that wasn't that hard to do, given how underwhelming it was.

And I'm not really concerned about the C8 Vette, as it will come sooner or later. In fact, I'd rather wait so they add the C8 Z06 instead of the Stingray. There are way more pressing matters, when it comes to cars yet to show up. We are almost 10 years waiting to complete the holy trinity of hybrid hypercars for example. We still lack any Audi RS model, a modern R8... we lack any BMW M that's not an M3/M4 variant. The list is veeeeery long.
The biggest concern, is that despite (supposedly) now having access to outsourcing, PD is somehow putting out less cars per update, than they did with GTS.

As for the third car, it has the potential to be the most interesting to me, while it can be quite the opposite. It could be a new VGT or a variation of an existing one, or a C3 Corvette as mentioned before (pls no!). Just a reminder that we are still waiting for a supposed Ford VGT.
The shapes of the car, look very similar to either the Ferrari California, California T, 812 GTS, 599 SA Aperta, F60 America, F12 TRS (although some of these are a bit of a stretch).
The modern R8 I can understand as a glaring omission. Since we have two race variants of it. The Audi RS series and non-M3/4 is not really a glaring omission however.

Cars I consider to be glaring omissions?

2nd-gen R8
C1, C5, and C8 Corvettes
992 911 and 1960s 911
Lamborghini Gallardo
Porsche Cayman S (718)
modern Volkswagen Beetle
Lexus SC430
1970 Dodge Charger R/T
3rd-gen Dodge Challenger
2nd-gen Audi TT
Chevrolet Camaro Gr.4
Audi Sport Quattro (road car)
BMW Z4 (E89 and G29)
Porsche 911 GT1 Evo '97
2nd-gen Skyline GT-R (KPGC110)

Why? Because all these cars either have a vast majority of their generations represented in the game and/or have a race or road variant but no road or race variant to compliment it. I mean if PD are really going to go out of their way to get the licenses for these car model line-ups and/or brands then why would they leave out specific models?

I thought it could be a Marcos but not so sure. What I'd like in this game is improved camera views. I dont like a single 1 of them. Bonnet cam is rubbish and nearer to the roof angled at the bonnet, just stupid. Bumper cam is ahead of the bumper so you hit cars when you're closer than you realise. Cockpit cam is too wide and has an annoying judder when you steer, chase cam is a no no for me.

No. Completely new real tracks. Like when they gave us Catalunya and Autopolis in Sport. We need totally fresh content, not dipping into the vaults.
Don't forget Interlagos! But I would like some PS3-era real-world courses to return, namely Silverstone and Ascari. I'd love for Twin Ring Motegi to return, too, but I heard it was damaged pretty badly by the 2011 earthquake. Then again, they do still race there...

EDIT: And how could I forget about Suzuka West?

EDIT2: Maybe if they can't get Motegi back - which would be a shame, btw - I'd be OK with a different venue that's used for Super GT/Super Formula, like Okayama or Sugo.

EDIT3: As for other new courses, I want Lime Rock Park! But only because it's the nearest "notable" circuit that I live by. It's still a two hour drive away from me, though! Maybe they could introduce it alongside some Callaway models like the C12, C7, and C16 Coupe, especially since I live only a few minutes from their HQ.

EDIT4: I think it'd also make sense for PD to pick real-world courses that are truly across the world, so in this regard, I'm really hoping for the Dubai Autodrome, Phillip Island, and Kyalami.

EDIT5: And what about real-world alternative layouts for circuits we already have? Like the Bugatti Circuit at Le Mans, or the Nurburgring Sudschleife. Actually, it seems that the latter was historic, so I unfortunately think that makes it less likely.

EDIT6: The Monza Junior Circuit might have potential, but I think it looks too simple. Could be good for karting, though.

ya I don't care for new cars either unless it was these three but I doubt it Suzuki Escudo, Bentley continental or Koenigseggs

I now think, they are actually busy in preparing for the world championship.
And „new“ tracks we at first get in the second half , when everything is going.

You could consider "glaring omissions" a lot of things. From standard and premium cars from past game, to just launched cars, to iconic and/or relevant cars. You would easily get an average of 5 cars per brand. And there are entire brands missing!
The point isn't really what each individual considers a glaring omission, but how unbalanced the car list is.

You also forgot the M6, which we have the M6 GT3 version, and Caiman GT4, which we have the race (Clubsport) version. The CLK GTR (road version), a Zonda road car.
