Using the Tomahawk is a choice. You don't have to use it. I don't see the problem in single player.

PP in online races on the other hand gives a clear advantage to 1 player over another which is where BOP should be working.

A discussion about fixing the PP bug would have universal support if it weren't for the NEEEED to grind.

Without the big paydays, the upgrades drain your credits super rapidly.
I’m not sure about that. I haven’t bought one of the toy cars. Never will. I’ve earned enough credits to buy several high value cars from Legendary, including the 10.5M F1 GTR. I’ve gone from having dozens of millions of credits to broke, and back again, several times.

All this with real cars, not exploiting any glitches.

There’s no need to put the toy car round Tokyo with a glitched setup. None whatsoever. But some prefer to exploit that, because they can grind their credits faster.

My thought about the bottom left car - if it is still a mystery

I see the problem with the short silhouette windshield, but looks to me more than all those ferraris. ^^

Yeah, it's a rock and a hard place. Do want the credits to be able to afford the cars/tuning, or do you want a properly functioning tuning system. Both would be fantastic, but thus far they seem to be diametrically opposed to one another.

BoP is like equity: all it does is "cut the tall grass". It's communism for digital cars. Someone that puts in the effort to be faster SHOULD have an advantage over someone that doesn't care to put in the time (and it takes very little time to tune a car...)

That's the way it works in actual motorsport, even those where there are strict requirements for engine displacement, fuel flow-rate, boost, downforce, etc. They still have the ability to tweak the suspension, etc to suit the demands of individual tracks and individual drivers, something we do not have with BoP. You want a faster car? Drive the meta that everyone else drives, lol. I'd much rather them be one-make races as at least then you'd get to drive different cars once in a while while still having a shot at a podium.

Edit: Very little time to copy other tunes which is what 99% of people do anyway. Tuning a car from scratch does take time, but there are plenty of tunes available for every Gr.4/3 car in the tuning section on GTP

We need PD to give us a couple "weekly" AI events similar to sport mode.... and seasonal's for that matter. One for road cars, one for race cars. Perhaps more. Make them 🌶 events, with set time limits as opposed to laps. One race is 30 minutes. One race is an hour. Dynamic weather and TOD in both. High payouts. If people want to glitch tune cars... fine whatever. They're time limit races anyways. This cold keep content fresh, and I don't think it would be too hard to do(?). Could also be kind of a feeder series into normal sport mode. Get folks comfortable with strategy and racing against stiff competition ect.

They could also just restrict their "WTC" events to cars that at least somewhat resemble a touring car.
Nobody gives a ding-dong about WTC events. It's competitive online multiplayer that's suffering because of the mess of the PP system. To be honest I think they should go back to calculating PP with base settings, only taking upgrades and settings of the power restrictor and ballast into account. It was a cool idea to change PP based on the setup, but it's clearly broken and not that easy to fix.

The PP system is definitely problematic in that it's rather ambiguous. I tend to stay away from fake cars in general because I just don't understand the desire to get excited about a vehicle that has never existed in a "racing simulation" game. It doesn't make sense.
Maybe because Gran Turismo is not a "racing simulation". The tagline for the game is right there on the cover "the real driving simulator". The game is about driving cars first and foremost. The racing part is just the natural extension of the driving. Hence the reason why iconic races like the Indy 500 and Daytona 500 were created. GT allows you to race many cars from a 1929 S Barker Tourer to a Tomahawk VGT. If you don't enjoy "driving" a certain car, don't. But there are others that do.
I could see them taking the lazy way out and adding a tag to the race entry screen saying "no Tomahawk, VGT's, Gr. 1's, etc"
This is what I was expecting from the last update. It would be the easiest thing to do. It wouldn't fix the PP system, but it would prevent the people from glitching the Tomahawk to grind credits. I guess we'll find out tonight if they really see that as a problem. Doesn't bother me if they patch it now as I only missing 2 cars. :D

No, it's not even close to a rock and a hard place. It's necessity vs. a pile of steaming turd.

The PP system needs to function properly. That is a necessity. The game cannot be played properly without this fix.

The ingame economy is set up to drain your credits at every turn with miniscule payouts so that you barely break even. It is 100% intended to try and create frustration and drive people to buy credits. We all paid full price for a premium game. We did not pay full price to be met with F2P MTX. Not only does it not need to be this way, the game has survived for decades without this. They tried, but it wasn't a necessity. Now, they are trying to make it a necessity. Eventually, the big paydays like track experience will all be spent, then what? A sport mode race to pay for oil changes? Oil changes are not fun, nor cool, when they tap into such a precious resource.

This is the worst choice they have ever made and nothing short of completely abandoning this strategy will make amends.
