If you dig further enough though, the P1 GTR is about five pages in if you sort by most liked/voted.

That doesn't make sense for GT Sport though.

All updates have been free and everyone can get them for free.

Sure, you can buy cars with MTX but I doubt PD makes any significant amount of money with that, relative to the free content they've been releasing for free in the last 13 months.

You might have a point if you go to an EA, Bethesda or ActBlizz forum.
Comedy gold.

They are what they are. You're gonna have to show that they don't make enough because from my end, they exist and we just don't know the return and how influential they are.

Clearly important, or they would have stayed gone. Game sold too little. It's a panic move too.

The LaFerrari is a hybrid and it's in N-class.
What I meant are these hybrid cars without gearboxes. The LaFerrari has a gearbox that’s why it’s in N1000. For example, if you put a Toyota Prius or a Koenigsegg Regera in the game they will end up in Gr. X. They don’t have gearboxes and only rely on direct drive.

The same could be said if the Mazda Demio Sport from GT6 were to return, even if it’s a pure-engined car, it will be in Gr. X due to its CVT.

I wonder if there is any way to leverage the data PD must have about online lobbies and Arcade Mode to shape the future of Gran Turismo?

They must have all that information, due to the fact that all saves are to the cloud. Let's be honest, how often do you see Tokyo as a race room? Or certain car Groups..? In truth, PD has probably been mining this kind of data for years, but the direction of the game rarely seems to go in the direction that most play it when they get the choice of what events and cars they want.

I think the way the P1 GTR will work is like this:

  • The KERS will function like any other hybrid car with a battery assist in the game, where it is applied upon corner exit. You won't be able to decide when it will happen or set how strong it is.
  • The rear wing will function like the Subaru Isle of Mann TT car. The DRS position will be used on long straights automatically, and it will shift into the airbrake position upon hard braking automatically.
It would be cool to set those manually, but the game doesn't feature bindings for any of those functions in the controller/wheel settings.

Well this thread goes downward spiral lately.

The perpetual cynicism for some people never cease to amuse me.
...I love manga, hope everyone else does :)

...and of course like Merc F1 car.

BTW there are settings for Nitro in controller, probably those could be potentially used as the KERS deployment, but then again, we'd have that already long ago if it was to be used...

F50 is up there as one of the most voted cars, yes. Same with the P1 road car, but we got the GTR instead.

Yes i would think KRS would be a automatic feature.

To bad about there not being a options to set DRS to manual, drs actives automatically at around 175 mph but at anytime manually.

Anywho doesn't take away from how excited i i'm to finally have the p1 in GT :D

In GT6, we had to wait like 3 months to get 5 cars, and even more to get a track.
Now we're getting 7 to 10 cars (from the GT6 favorites and the most resquested ones) and a track almost every months, and we're seing almost more whining than before.

"PD don't listen community" : F50 wasn't in top 10 most requested car? E30? Supra?????? And we're flaming because the P1 is the GTR and not the Road car one?? (Oh and you ask for race cars but getting mad because we're not getting the road one????)

I most excited to drive the f50. P1 gtr is all good and that but not a fan of it being in gr,x
So good too see m3 e92 back, Corvette c2 and more. Don't care about tesla. Its a good time to come back to the game after this update. Have not played gt sport since july. So their is a lot of tracks and cars to explore

Pontiac, F50 and c2... Yessss! Tesla excites me in real life, but no interest for it in a game, really can't stand no gears in racing games.

Well, if anyone has not done any of the Circuit Experience, I can tell you, if you do them after this next update, there is a chance you can win one of those "new" cars.

Now, started a new game... for the sixth time! Got the 22B as predicted and got the '06 Viper as predicted, Gr.2 RC F as predicted. As soon as saw the shadows, I knew which car I was getting. No need to memorise or write down from which CE.

I'll probably start a new game next week, just to see which of the new cars I'm gifted.

As a side, I'm still getting the Megane as my first car. I've only ever got the WRX once, in a new start.

Man with all this negativity going on, I'm just here waiting for the update to arrive. That P1 GTR is a insta-buy for me. Same goes for the FuguZ and F50.

And honestly, those three cars are pretty much the Christmas present for me. Once again kudos to PD.

Let the grind begin for the Cars!!

Man im looking forward to that Ferrari F50. I hope its 500,000 credits and not 1 million or 2 million.

The reason we’re getting a lot of road cars with the updates is that at release GTS had to have a large variety of Gr3/4 cars to make the Manufacturer Cup possible, so they were focusing on those. The ratio between road and race cars was therefore unusually skewed towards the race cars.

They are simply catching up now with the road cars to what we were used to in past GT games.

Thank you!! this sums up a big part of the community GT Sport is the best in turms of post-release support. Getting 100 free cars a year is amazing to say the least...

Exact every update there are always complaints, "I want this ... I want that ...", I appreciate everything they add and I have never complained, of course there may be months that maybe you do not like the cars/tracks added but I appreciate them anyway and I'll have fun without ever complaining

Micro Transactions in GTS case is the weakest greed version there is, if it was a "panic move" then it would be something else. And we have another thread where there is speculation on the economics of the game. PS+ being the most obvious suspect for making PD money.
