VCRC vintage & low power :: Sunday 3pm GMT / 10am US EST

I have no idea how it happened. I couldn't go forward because if I pressed the accelerator it would select whatever the arrow was pointing to on the lounge options (like pressing X). But I could press triangle and go backwards, and steer, and honk the horn. And when I finally hit "go to track" it put me in the car as it was skidding around, not back in the pits.

Some strange bugs in this game. :odd:

Did a practice race distance, with a best lap of 3:14.903. Ran out of petrol on lap 17 at the entrance to the Bus Stop, which was annoying because I was half a second up on my best on that lap! >,<;

Average laps around 3:15.5 to 3:16.0, once some fuel burnt off. Car's a little sluggish at first with a full tank.

I only did a few laps but my best was a 3:15 something, probably improve a bit with practice. I like this car here, it's like a long country drive.

So, what do you guys think about doing two races with smaller crowds? I enjoy the long races with lots of cars on track but when it's a small crowd I think it's more fun for everyone if we do two because it keeps us from getting spread out by ourselves for 20-30 minutes straight. I think the reverse grid race is the most fun too and has more battles, and I enjoy the battles the most. But if the group wants to do the enduro's we can go back to doing those.

Hope to see a good grid today. If we have less than 8 we'll do two races. I should have the room up in about an hour. 👍

Will be there. Managed to haul myself out of bed after staying up to catch the last part of F1 (and no, I won't talk about it if you haven't watched it :P ) -- might be more slow than usual today. *yawn*

@KingKlingeling -- but, but, isn't racing pretend cars more important than family? (Answer: No, not really  ) That's too bad, catch you next race (hopefully literally ;) ).

such a shame I missed this :(
results are looking great 👍

It was one of the best races I've had in GT6, the car (and drivers) were brilliant at Spa. You might want to look away from the thread for a bit though, I'm going to post a video soon. :P

EDIT: And here it is. Special thanks to @bdubclub and @Marcus Garvey for putting some more cars on the grid. 👍

Nice sketchy dive bomb in the last corner BrandonW77 ...

What a great race!

Had to try something! I got through the right hander a lot faster than you so all of sudden you were right in front of me, it was either crash you or dive inside, I chose the latter. Cut it a little too much so I didn't push past for the win but had to stay along side to keep Amar from steeling 2nd!

You mean bdubclub (who also happened to be in a matte red car, albeit a lighter shade). I was floundering around some 6 seconds behind after my epically stupid off at Les Combes earlier in the race, and repeatedly getting held up by Speedy and Daddyo.

My driving was pretty mediocre today, fun races anyway though. 👍 A little too much off-roading all around I'd say especially at Pouhon. :odd: Just a quibble. Byproduct of the Tilkezation of classic tracks -- that should all be gravel out there behind the kerbs. Then there wouldn't be any of this all-four-off nonsense. :P

True and I know I'm guilty myself but since its paved, I'm more aggressive there because if I off road there I know there isn't much of a penalty. I'm a dirty dirty cheater

I guess it was bdub. 👍

I ran wide at Pouhon twice and both times I was trying my damnedest not too. It wasn't because I was being too aggressive though, it was because the slipstream had given me way more speed than I thought and my early braking just wasn't early enough. I learned to brake even earlier to keep it on track, but I'll still go sit in the corner and serve my penance. :dunce:

Haha, I wasn't trying to pick on anyone in particular. It's just a pet peeve of mine. I doubt any of us like it when the person ahead drifts off track and pulls out a length or three as a result. But I certainly don't think anybody was doing it on purpose - although I don't know if anyone was backing out of it to negate any possible advantage gained.

Also, I blame the damn slipstream for my boneheaded outbraking of myself at Les Combes. :embarrassed: :banghead:

I tested some ideas for combos sometime last week. What do people think of the Datsun 510 (ran it at Fuji and it has enough gear for that massive straight) or the Plymouth Cuda 340 Six Barrel (fun at Willow Springs and has enough top end there, though it no doubt runs out of gear on some other tracks with longer straights)?

I have a request in for a car that I'm going to test out tonight but I'll put those two on the list for upcoming weeks. It might take a lot of bribery to convince me to voluntarily race at Fuji though.

I used to feel the same way about Fuji. Don't know how it happened, but I actually quite like that track now, even if the final corner is still a mystery most of the time.

Damn shame the old Fuji isn't still around in the game though.

That sounds good. Why did you sign your post like this
-daddyo? I know GTsail does the same thing

I do it sometimes just to make it clear how I prefer my username to be shortened. (: And I pretty much always do so on longer posts, it just seems like a Thing to Do.

-amar :P

double edit: looks like some epic mobile errors down there daddyo! Quadruple posts, wow.:lol:

triple edit: how odd, there were four posts, then I reloaded the page and there were only two. Site hiccups I guess.
