Is it just me or is the Merc VGT car very easy to lock up under braking? I can't drive that thing without ABS for the life of me, even with 1/1 balance...

I did a few laps in the Brands Hatch TT with my main account and ran a 50.49 for current P2. It's a shame SRF is forced on.

You're kidding me. :banghead::mad::yuck::grumpy: I haven't even attempted these yet so I had not noticed. If that's the case, then PD really is going towards being an Arcade racer. I say this because the license tests and other parts of the game just seem way to easy. Sorry, don't mean to start a hate SRF deal here, this is the last I'll say anything about it here. If it is indeed forced on though, I probably won't take part in these until they at least make it so you can choose to have it on or off. Guess I'll just wait for the WRS to get rolling so I can get my TT fix. :sly: Thanks for the heads up Andrew.

Never mind, I figured it out. I had to limit power by 50% and add 100kg ballast to get 450pp. I was using the GT86 and was stuck in the high 53's now I'm in the low 52's. I need a better tune, it just doesn't pull hard enough out of the corners.

Haven't seen any sign of a B Spec set of races. I think it was a waste of space in GT5, except for dirtying oil, which itself was a dubious attainment.

Also, the engine sound in both the GT6's I have is very low compared to GT5, that is the engine sound when using the view from the front of the car showing the speedo and tacho.
Anyone else noticed that?

Had some fun with these tonight.

Banking 15,000 Credits payout for the VGT seasonal is like being a millionaire on GT6 :P
Very easy to get gold - must be easy, even I could do it

On first impressions, the GT Arena is too twisty to be much fun with anything apart from a kart judging by the first event.

I used the Focus for the 15th Anniversary event, not bad but am sure there are better cars for it if you have all 25 (I only have 3 packs).

I love the VGT and have been using it in every event i can squeeze it into to be eligible so far. With all the grinding that we are going to have to do, i am sure every other car I have won will get used a fair amount anyway. And yes, I find it quite hard to stop the VGT beast. The physics of the VGT is the best I've felt on this game so far, you really feel the weight transfer on braking, in my opinion. Looking forward to the next events - if they are doing the weekly maintenance on Tuesdays now, do we think the next events will come on Tuesday or Thursday? Soon find out I guess :D

Yea, I have. When I first booted up the game, I had to turn up my speakers quite a bit from where I had them in GT5. I also use the same view as you.

Speaking of 'The Bandit's' races, I was surprised to see I was above him on the leaderboard in one of the races. I put this down to him...

Wait, update...England 9 out 2nd test. Aussies on their way to a another Test victory.

down to him just racing through the races, so to speak, without worrying too much about winning every one at this stage.
I was even able to regularly beat him to the top of the hill in the Merc race, all due to braking better for the l/hander at the bottom if the hill.

One has to take ones little wins when one can.

Update; Poms all out, Aussies win the Second Test.

Are you talking about the AMG VGT Merc seasonal? I did one lap without tuning or practice or anything haha, I really don't like Mattehorn, it's a strange track...

Personally I think it's awesome how they keep the rewards low. That way you have to actually consider what to buy. There was zero feel of reward in GT5 where you could get pretty much any car by doing a few races. I'm actually slightly annoyed that you get 1M credits with AE.
Wait a minute, all I got from the AE were the cars, what about this 1M credit line you're talking about? How did I get robbed?

Yeah mate, the flash free Merc race at Matterhorn. It took me a few laps (more than a few actually) to complete this race, 1st or 2nd completion was gold, about a second behind you by the end of it.

Tell you what I don't like is the other peoples blue race lines (ghosts) behind their names, when there are a bunch of them it can block the track view.

And like I said, I had more than a sneaky suspicion that you weren't doing your best in the races where I came close etc, more like just getting the races under your belt.

Yeah, I'll come back to it soon hopefully, just trying to complete the career at the moment. Just got Nat A, Int B and Int A races to complete, along with those one make races, then I'm finished :D Already got 88% of the trophies :D

You do know that you can get rid of those right? I believe you hit "up" on the d-pad and they will disappear. They were annoying the hell out of me too in the license tests.

I read somewhere that if you turn off your friends" blue lines"' it also turns off your own ghost ?, maybe somebody can confirm that.

I was chasing Bandit's ghost for about 200 laps and ended up with a 29.540. I did red lap a .468 at one point and I can beat him in all the sectors.

 Nice try! ;) I spent a couple of hours doing it, I'm actually surprised that my setup works, maybe in GT6 there will be more variety of fast setups? :)

Hopefully. There was so little variety that I actually figured out how to tune a week or two before GT6 came out!

Yes it does turn off ghost as well.

Just having the drivers names on the screen, same as in the open lobby in GT5, probably wouldn't be too bad, but those blue lines take up too much space and can be a bloody nuisance near corners.

Your own ghost car plus the leaders name and blue line may be ok. Early days here I guess.

The blue lines don't bother me at all to be honest, your eyes should be looking ahead, not at the road in front of your car ;)

They are a bloody nuisance and upsets my driving line they are Bad for TT.

You would think that would be the case, however as far as you are concerned there would be very few, if any, names and lines in front of you to worry about. For us lesser mortals though there could be a dozen and that represents a solid wall of blue which can block out what is ahead of you, especially where sharp corners are concerned.

And I haven't fired up today so I'll stand corrected, but I think the lines are above the road, not on it, which can block the road up 'ahead'.

Totally agree with you 100%.

I see The Bandit did come back and have another crack at Matterhorn in the AMG, now sitting on 1:03.9.

That's nearly 5 sec's better than my time. Guess I won't be getting in front of his name and bluey again on that one. Ha ha, more traffic to contend with.

Just done 1:03.3 and will leave it at that for now as I can't really find a good setup for the horrible bumps on this circuit. :yuck:

Im gonna have to rush for my international a licence because i wanna try that anniversary event thingy!!!!!!! and im getting the game a week late!!!!

It's only National A, should be possible to get it in a couple of hours. 👍

The blue lines don't bother me either.............that's cuz I haven't got many friends :P

Try being friends with doodle, the blue line has a contrail, very distracting.
