Have you put out your tire fire yet?

I should spend more time revisiting that ol RM camaro. I was in it the other day and forgot how pleasant it was to drive. I've learned a few tricks along the way since then, and pretty sure I can make it a little faster.

All my attention has been focused on that damn Z06 Race Car. Thing is on the edge of out of control every corner, every turn. I should get a "Medal of Valor" every time I finish a race in one piece and with the tires still on it. I win one race with it, and now Kal wants to "restrictor plate" it. Fascist.

I'm joking. Just giving you a little ***t Kal.

hahahahaha.

To be honest, the tire fire really is a combination of several things. But the deal is it allows me to accelerate like a demon coming out of mid turn without fishtailing if I do it right. I have yet to get any comprising wear because of it. I am sure I am losing perhaps some speed but so far, I seem to exit alot faster than anyone else.

I just want some closer racing that's all. With that Corvette the Camaro does not have the power and the Challenger does not have the handling. But I do know it takes alot of effort to drive it. Of course, if I wanted to get ya really good I would just up the laps up more watch you get ahead and lose all your tires!

I'm sure I'd be one of the back markers, but I'd genuinely like to participate if there's still space...

You still have time to join, just pick 2 cars from the OP for the groups or just one car and your ready to go.

....not yet, but I'm on it!

Great. I've sent requests to Kal and Skeletor. I'd like to wait to choose my cars until I've been able to do some testing, if that's ok? I'm clear on the regulations and they will pass spec inspections.

Thanks to all involved. I'll be sure to move to the outside when I see the blue flag. :gtpflag:

We I normally come around corners with a line of smoke right behind me. Think I should be called Tire Fire.

I'll be hosting a practice room for Indy Road Coarse in about 30 minutes from now if anyone is interested. PSN Thisguy70

Tonight on Tap is the Indy Road Course Groups 1 & 2 6 laps each. Lounge should be open around 8pm EST. An hour(ish) of practice using either group car is allowed for additional adjustments.

After Indy, Trial Mountain is next. (if enough time) There will be a 10-15 minutes time frame to practice and adjust before the racing begins on that track.

Additional notes, when you are on the track during practice and need to type/leave do whatever, either go in the pits or get off the track. Do not leave your car on auto as it will disturb others in the lap times greatly. Also, if you see a car coming up on you that is faster, allow it by. This only applies during practice.

Hope to see some of the new-er faces show up I will try to PM whoever when I have the room open.

If we do, here's what I think the race schedule should be for this Sunday night...
  1. Group 2: Round 1 - Grand Valley
  2. Group 2: Round 2 - Deep Forest
  3. Group 1: Round 2 - Deep Forest

Haha. After reading this I spent four+ hours this morning running a room at Deep Forest. :dunce:

Are you restricting the performance of the Group One Corvette Race Car, Tire Fire?

Personally, I would rather just spend some track time at Trail Mountain with everybody, rather then running the race there tonight, as I have limited race experience at most of our league tracks, I enjoy and benefit practicing each track for the week prior. I have no problem going ahead with the race if the majority of us wants to though, I know there are some other less experianced racers in here and I'm sure we would all still have fun

In all honesty I am not going to limit the car. It is clearly a faster car under the right driver. I am just suggesting skeletor make it more interesting..Rather he limits it is his deal. as Long as it fall under the 640pp limit than it can run.

More times than not the second race is often decided on after the first two. We will see how it goes.

I'm going to run stage 2 turbo instead of stage 3. (731hp to 675hp).
We'll see how that goes.

Great racing and participation tonight guys! We had a decent turn out and glad this series is going well.

Here are the three races done this evening.

Group 1 Trial Mountain. (Was re run due to connection issues with two players)

I apologize for the horrible pictures. My camera sometimes does not like cooperating. The Race at Trial mountain was run twice. The first time Skeletor and Redrider3h(?) lost connection after the start of the race. It was a thrilling challenging race have me and Titus001 against each other in a heated battle. I did win that race. Due to the fact both player had started the race and had technical failure, we all voted to re run the race, in which was once again a very heated battle for first with me and titus00s. He ended up wining but a small margin. Regardless an awesome race to have and I was really into it. I can only imagine what it would take to do that for laps on end beyond just 6.

Once again, thanks everyone for showing up being good sports and giving it their best! Next week we have:

Group 2 Trial Mountain

Group 1 & 2 Daytona Road Course

Woke up this morning. Went to go watch those awesome replays of Trial Mountain. To discover I did not save them. ^&*@^#@&*!

Those are the race results from this last weekend & current standing. Let me know if I made any errors. Apparently I had some issues, with my driving & my lag. I appologise to those who were affected.

That was definately some great racin! I think the front runners might be missing out on it a little, there's about 5 or 6 of us out back runnin almost identical laps, made for alot of really close racing with plenty of clean passing. Can't wait till next week, let's keep it up fella's! And thanks to Kal and Skeletor for putting this together, I've gained more racing experiance and knowledge this past two weeks then I have from all the GT series.

Edit: I should say "mostly clean passing" I witnessed (and took part in) a few minor collisions, however, each time both drivers involved immediately backed off and gathered it back up, apologizing and making sure the other driver had the space to recover. Everyone was able to continue to race and have a blast. Well done racers!

Hey racers, been quiet in the thread for a couple days, hope it's because we're all too busy preparing for race. Anyways, Daytona Speedway is coming up in a week or so. I've noticed that anytime I race there in open rooms that the racing is constant "bump-drafting". I assume since we are an organized racing league that intentional bump-drafting would not be permitted, but just figured this should be clarified before we get there. Any thoughts?

I agree with no going below middle line. However I do wish to express under any point if you bump some one and they spin out or lose control right afterwards. You are to stop and allow them to get back in front of you regardless of positions lost.

I agree with those guidelines, anyone else have an opinion?

Mudd I vote to allow bump draft but no going below yellow line.

I fourth the motion on no passing below the 'Yellow Line of Death' as well as the rules on bump drafting.;)

Also, there is the chance we might have some drafting taking place during Qualifying that might influence on who gets pole. So, I was wondering if we can have Qualifying where we send out the cars one at a time at regular intervals(Every 15-20 seconds?) onto the track after the room gets reset and each drivers does 1 lap to warm-up and 1 more lap to set their qualifying time?

The draft does not work when the room is in "free run" mode. It will not effect our qualifying. PD set it up that way intensionally, it's that way on all tracks.

My only issue with drafting is people not extending their braking zone when they're drafting. I've been pushed a few times when coming down a straight and the car behind me is using his normal brake marker. Other than that i enjoy some dirty passes that's how they did it back in the day.

Leaving track space in-between qualifying cars is something we should be doing at all our tracks. I think everyone has been kinda anxious and excited to get on the track and we havn't been practicing that racing guideline very well (guilty of it myself). We should all start watching that more closely in that last few minutes of pre-race practice. As far as bumping into corners, if anyone in here is not familiar with racing at Daytona Speedway, you should definately participate in some online practice with other cars on track, one wrong move there can easily take out the entire field. I will certainly be hosting several Speedway practice rooms throughout the next week, as that is the track that I have most of my online experiance at. (over 10,000 miles online, split between Nascar and the very same Challenger that I race in our class A event). I would be happy to offer assistance or advice to anyone not so familiar with the racing there
