I'm glad I'm not the only one who couldn't sign on. I was going to remote race from work today. Maybe tomorrow.

I give you a lot of credit for sticking with that GT350R. I tested that car for about an hour with none luck. For me, the thing handled like it came straight from hell. (can I say that?)

It seems to me, that the pp system doesn't give most of the standard cars a fighting chance against the premiums. I tested almost all my muscle cars @ 550 pp, and the standard models are all 2-5 seconds slower/lap then the Corvette convertible, Z28, & Mach 1.
I don't know, just my observation.

I was under the impression the premiums and the standards have the same physic modeling. I guess perhaps not? We can, if everyone agreed, cut the group two out, and just extend the laps in group I higher, and add a few cars that can fairly compete and raise the PP limit to 655.

Like I said, just my observation. I can niether confirm nor disconfirm that. I just know that for example; the 69 SS doesn't handle as well as the Z28. Same goes for the L46 corvette vs the convertible. Even though they are identical cars. Try it for yourself. I would like to think I'm not crazy.

whoa whoa whoa, lets not get carried away on my theory. I like the setup as is. If anything, maybe let the standards run a little higher pp.

I think we can finish this series first Kal, everyone is having too much fun with it. And Skeletor im fully aware the GT350R is from Hell. It seems to have a soul of its own thats why its so hard to tame. As it turns out im also from Hell so i can control this beast. All kidding aside this was one wild ride to tune and it was fun most of the time. I am anticipating my unveiling of my tune so you and Kal can disect it and possibly make it better.

Informing you guys that Sunday, the 1st I will not be able to host.

I unfortunately will be watching real cars race at Road Atlanta for "The Mitty" which included some Trans Am cars. Best Part, I am getting in for free under a Crew pass with the Can Am guys who are personal friends!

We will be expecting some pics of the Trans Am cars

Oh you mean anything like this? (Previous HSR @ Daytona Speedway)

I'm kinda new at this forum stuff, but I sure would like to race in this series.
I think I raced against a coupla of you guys at a practice race or something.....sure was fun. Is there still a chance of participating in this series? Looks like great fun.

Geezer

Nice photos Kal. Love that split window vette. I'll be going to a historical race event myself in June at Infineon raceway. Can't wait.

So looks like I'll be hosting this week. Make sure you all have added me to you PSN. It will be at the same time as usual.

Those of you who still want to join are more then welcome too. Sunday nights, practice/qualifying starts @ 8pm eastern / 5pm pacific. Race starts @ 9pm eastern / 6pm pacific.

We will be doing G2 class @ daytona road course, then G1 @ daytona super speedway. If time & internet server lets us, G2 at daytona super speedway.

Looking as if we will not be racing tomorrow folks. We'll see how this thing pans out and perhaps either do a mid week deal or just start where we left off. I am hoping to be back Sunday before 9, but I doubt I will be from the races.

What would you guys think about having the laps set to say, 7, and the first lap everyone stays in their position, but does one lap at say, 50-60 in position, to help warm up the laps? I am seeing alot of other Series do this and this would def help out on cold tires.

I would assume that once the pole holder cross the line everyone goes (pole leader calling out or one who can see calls out he has crossed line.)

Wouldn't be a bad idea since I believe they did a rolling start way back then in T/A.

Here's hoping the PSN maintenance gets done soon.

I like the warm up lap idea, it seems our first lap is always a mess. I think cold tires are even more of a factor in the cars we are driving. It also seems like my weekly ritual of 'punting' Skeletor also happens on the first lap, so I would definitely benefit from it

Love this idea, all for it.

I also like the idea of doing a warm up lap with everyone in 1 or 2 lines from the start of the second lap. We could do what formula 1 does and do one warm up lap then stop on the grid and accelerate away.

On a different note, i tested the GT40 on Deep Forest and did a 1:10.648 my personal best there. After talking with Kal it seems his Camaro does average 1:10.XXX so i guess it can keep up well enough. I'll leave it up to everyone else to decide whether or not we allow the car in the next season.

Of course it depends on what the majority feels, but I think the rolling start after the warm up lap would go smoothest. We could just follow a Nascar style rule, 'No improving your track position until you cross the start line' after the warm up lap

Did some Deep Forest laps with the GT40 last night. Ran a 1:11:2xx, that is my personal best. I think this car should be added for next season.

I have no interest in the GT40 personally (Chevy Guy) but from what I can tell the times that have been seen with it are right along with our league front runners. I say welcome it to the second season

Arter thinking about it I agree a rolling start seems like a better way to get things going. As soon as this damn PSN is back up i can actually pracrice online to see how my GT40 stacks up but we still have to wait.

I like the warm-up lap. Either the rolling start or standing start. I personally prefer rolling start.

I've been on board with the GT40 since it was first brought up.

So it looks like I'll be out of town this weekend. I got roped into a fishing/camping trip. darn. There's a chance I'll be back by Sunday evening, but don't count on it.

So we will need a volunteer host this weekend. And a record keeper. Need to keep track who qualifies at the pole, the race results, and who starts & finishes. And somehow convey them to me so I can add up all the points. Assuming the PSN is back up by then.

It may not even be an issue this weekend (Sony? Are you there?) But if we are up and running by then, as much as I'd like to improve my standings, it doesn't seem right to race without the top two point holders from both classes. If the rest of you are up for it, I'll be happy to host some non-points races at our normal race time. It would give us a chance to really try out all these different cars we've been talking about for next season, and we could try out some other tracks. If everybody wants to go ahead and points race, that's fine too. I don't mind hosting the room for that, but I will need some assistance with keeping track of points and positions.

I don't mind one bit if you guys run with out us. This is why we are only counting the best 5 out of 7 races per driver. So we all don't have to participate in every single race. Missing this week won't hurt us. Might even be more fun for you guys.
Keeping track of the results isn't that challenging. Save the replay after each race. Kal likes to take a photo of the results after each race & post them, which is pretty effective.

But, it's up to all of you guys to decide. Official race or practice, I'm ok with it either way. I guess it would also depend on how many people even show up.
