Well, would be a tad late to open one up today then. I'll host a track day tomorrow at 17.30GMT. I'll also update the OP with some more practice sessions.

Cleaning can wait. GT5, can't. :)
Let my words compel you to abandon your cleaning duties, and join us for an evening filled with gasoline and tire smoke.

It appears as if no one wanted to play with me. :(
So the lobby is now shut down. And I am left in deep depression.

OP has been updated with the new race dates.

Edit: Terronium-12 has included a great little summary for the Champonship in his Weekly Rewind. Hopefully this will result in more participants. Don't hesitate to sign up people!

Yay, Terronium added it. :D

Any track day today or tomorrow?

Opening track day session.

Race at Monza has been shortened by 100km, meaning it is now 52 laps, rather than 69.

Sorry I disappeared towards the end. Decided to get a takeaway. I knew what I wanted but took my step mum 25 minutes to decide.

That's okay. I'm in the middle of making dinner. Sweet sweet food :).

I've been trying to come up with other ideas for getting more drivers. You guys think shortening the races would help? Thing is, I don't want to shorten the Le Sarthe race...

Did you in the past have a double length last race for double point. Maybe half the other races. Then have Sarthe the same but for double points?

Finding it hard to make any sense of your comment :).
You mean to say that I should cut the race distance in the first 3 races in half, while keeping the race lenght on Le Sarthe?

Sorry my bad. I think I remember in past events of yours that you had a whole series of races at a similar length, then the last race was twice as long. With the final race being for double points. I was suggesting that instead of doubling the last race half the other 3?

I get what you're saying. And yes, I have done that before. However, the races in general were quite a bit shorter, with the first couple of races being 1 hour, and the last being 2-3 hours long.

Monza is now 34 laps, Daytona is 32 laps and Spa is 36 laps.

Probel is I'm only able to go online properly like 3 days per week

Well, the current championship doesn't feature more than 2 races per week, so as long as you're sure you can attend them all, then you're good to go. Our next practice session is this sunday at 11.00GMT. You shall be most welcome to join.

Been waiting for this type of race for a long time. Is it too late to sign up?

And did I read the OP right? Sport tires? Not racing? THAT'S AWESOME. I really love that. I'm curious to see if the soft vs hard differences aren't so much in the favor of soft as it is in the racing tires. I have noticed that sports hard last a hell of a lot longer than racing hard so maybe it'll be worth it to use the hards for once

Still plenty of time to sign up, so you shall be most welcome :).

Sport tires and Racing Intermediate and Rain are indeed what will be used in the championship. But as for using any lower compount than SS tires, it's highly inadvisable. Consider this comment that I posted earlier in this thread.
My original plan was to run the Le Sarthe race on SM tires, but after a 10 lap test race, I came to the conclusion that you'll be giving yourself a huge handicap.

"The difference in durability between the two different compounds should be much higher than it currently is. After 10 laps, you had around 50% tire left, where as I had 45%. While I could certainly adjust my driving to be even more focused on preserving tires, I would be losing even more time per lap than I already was.

The best lap I was able to pull off with SM tires, was 4.06.3. That's 10.8 seconds slower than the fastest lap done on SS tires. On average, I lost maybe around 8 secs per lap. A pit stop for tires last roughly 20-25 seconds. And then you are able to do fast laps again, where as I'm out on half worn SM tires. Losing even more time per lap.

Not only is the durability in tires completely off. The amount of grip lost relative to the amount of rubber you have left, is also generally exaggerated.

The tiremodel in GT5 is by no means the worst out there, but it leaves a lot to be desired
.
"

But it's your choice. Perhaps you'll be able to get better results than me.

We have another practice session today at 11.00GMT. That's about 2 hours from now. Join if you want. And welcome to the Series .

Also, if you know anyone else who might be interested in joining, please do ask them.
