Wednesdays Historic BSCC 3 20:30-21:30 BST- Pimiki & SimbaLora CHAMPIONS!!!Finished

Hi any chance I can race with u guys tonight please?

You are most welcome to join. You will need to send me a friend request via the PS3 then I can send you a club invitation. After that you will be fine to join in the Friday BOSS 302 and Wednesday BSCC 3 races. I would send you a friend request, but your information page doesn't list your PSN name.

I'm sorry I didn't see your message until after the races tonight - I normally switch off the laptop and start opening the room at about quarter past. Richroo asked if I had received a message from Daniel and I assumed he was talking about another Daniel (Danielspel) who is a member, but hasn't raced for a few weeks.

Great racing tonight guys - the Plymouth was dominant as expected at Mount panorama, but I think the smaller cars will have the upper hand at some of the tighter, slower circuits to follow.

The race was won by SimbaLora (Plymouth) from Pimiki (Plymouth) with Flaco a fine third (Mini). Below middle John Wells and Zeus blast off from the back of the grid in their Renault 8 Gordini's.

Round 1 Points.jpg

Above: SimbaLora, Pimiki and Flaco lead the points standings after round 1. With 11 rounds remaining and 1 score to drop the championship is wide open. A strong challenge is expected from @Harsk100 at round 2 and from @eran0004 when he returns.

Note Zeus was dropped from 9th to 10th place as a result of contact with Sutsagrd who was raised to 9th.

If anyone would like to join this series or our Friday series - BOSS 302 - just contact Sick Cylinder.

Next Round 2 from Suzuka East

Thanks again for letting me join yesterdays series starter races just for once. 👍
Even though I'm not a huge fan of Mount Panorama I've enjoyed the races quite much. The (Barra)Cuda is a car I've never driven before and probably wouldn't have done neither in the future. But I have to say it's quite a good drive and tuning allowed exterminated the 3-gear limiter issue on fast tracks which most muscle cars have.

I used the suspension settings of @Sick Cylinder's tune but changed brake settings to 3/2 and the LSD to 8/6/12. Maybe I was lacking some speed due to this conservative LSD setting but the car was very stable most of the time. After trying the usual gearbox adaption setting (final gear to 5500, max speed to 180 km/h, gear ratios at 0/25/50/75/100 %, final gear to 3200) I decided to go back to the standard gearbox as that felt quite good too.

The skill level in this club is pretty high at the front and I was quite surprised that @tarnheld could keep up with those alien guys fighting for the win. Seems you've improved quite a lot meanwhile and made the next step. :) But all other racers from the midfield to the end of the pack showed great consitency as well. After dropping back to the end of the field due to braking too late and running-off at "The Dipper" I managed to do consistent lap times of 2:24-2:26 for most of the race. My luck was @richroo, @Sutsagrd and @pretend racer were involved in some incidents which allowed me to pass them easily.

For many laps I had @IfAndOr chasing @Sick Cylinder within sight. I tried my best and could slightly catch up but when doing small faults the gap increased to the original level again. These two guys showed such a permanent performance that my hopes of a fault of them was desperate. 👍 On the other hand I had @richroo in his Mini behind me for most of the race appearing sometimes more, sometimes less big in my rear view mirror. Especially at "The Esses" he gained a lot of time as this was my worst section.

At the penultimate lap suddenly @tarnheld appeared right in front of me at "Quarry" - he must have had crashed hard I guess. I was overtaking him on the way to "The Cutting" but spun right at that corner which caused him to crash into me. :guilty: While we were kind of stuck there @richroo was the laughing third and gained 2 positions. @tarnheld was staying behind me gentlemanly but since I was holding him up with my spun I decided to slow down and let him pass. I guess that way I reduced my negative influence on the championship points.

Anyways, I wish you guys a lot of fun during the championship and hope to see you on track again whenever that will be. :)

Cheers!

Sorry Sick my car was in the wrong colour. I thought I'd painted it but it turns out it was the Trans Cammer I'd done. These big American cars all look similar. :dopey:

Never mind we had a good scrap over the mountain. I think your car had the straight line grunt and mine had perhaps the better handling, so they cancelled each other out over the twists and straights.

And yes I was aware of you Patrick not too far behind me ready to pounce. ;)

Don't worry Patrick, it was not your fault. My stamina left me in the end, little mistakes were creeping in and the mind started to wander. I then missed several braking points and had aquaintance with a wall or two and slowly dropped back. But it was great to watch the Cooper/Cuda fight of Flaco and Pimiki, i'm amazed that i could keep up with them for so long as Bathurst isn't my favorite. I guess it must be @Sick Cylinder's great tune, felt very good, thanks again for sharing! 👍

Thanks sick for noticing this. However Zeus was much faster than me in the Renault and he would have got past despite this. 👍
He in fact made a mistake later and fell behind but then caught up and past me. So I was happy with my 10th as I just couldn't tame the Renault R8 and I think Zeus deserved his 9th position overall. :)

Nice picy of me sliding the R8...unfortunately it was completely unintentional and was me loosing control!!:embarrassed:

Change text to: I think your car had a supercharger and mine had a better driver, so they cancelled each other out over the twists and straights.

I was lucky with the gearbox settings - they were spot on for Mount Panorama - they enabled the extra torque of the motor to work (my motor is producing 77kg).

I guess it must be @Sick Cylinder's great tune, felt very good, thanks again for sharing! 👍

All credit for the tune must go to Angell - this was his Camaro tune which I accidentally applied to my Plymouth - strangely I found it lapped much faster than any of the proper Plymouth tunes on GT Planet.

I often find that tunes on this site make the car slower than just race soft suspension and personal preference LSD and brake balance settings so always try those first. Tunes from these three guys normally work well so any of their tunes are worth trying: Motor City Hami, Praiano, Feydrautha / Arrakis Speedshop.

The best action shots normally are!

I wish you guys a lot of fun during the championship and hope to see you on track again whenever that will be. :)

It was good to have you Patrick and hopefully you can join us again soon - maybe this evening for Friday BOSS 302.

I am just about to set off for Brands Hatch - hopefully the rain will hold off long enough for me to get some photos of the cars which will be racing on Saturday and Sunday in the "legends of Brands Super Prix".

It includes a round of the Bybox Historic Saloon Championship for pre 1966 saloons - the entry list includes: Falcons, Mustangs, Anglias, Imps, Minis, Alfas and Lotus Cortinas. There are no Jaguar saloons on the entry list, but there is a Triumph 2000 and a Ford Galaxie. Hopefully I will also get some shots of the Bizzarini and Kellison sports cars.

I find that many tunes have the suspension set too hard which, depending on the tyres used, makes the cars skip rather than slide. Very often now instead of adding just adding race soft suspension (which I also used to do) I fit full race suspension and setting the toe and camber to zero works even better. I also very rarely use race brakes since I find them hard to find the locking up point.

HSCC/HRSR "Bybox" Historic Touring Cars - Brands Hatch 3rd July 2016

I was lucky enough to attend this race with fellow GT Planet member Mook. He is a bit of a techno geek so has a fancy camera - I'll be posting some of his action shots on this thread and the non-saloon car ones over on the BOSS 302 thread.

The race was won by Leo Voyazides driving his 4.7 litre 1963 Ford Falcon with Simon Hadfield 1965 Ford Cortina Lotus second, Rob Fenn 1965 4.7 litre Ford Mustang third, Bob Bullen 1964 Ford Anglia Fourth and John Spiers 1964 Ford Cortina Lotus fifth. Sadly the Richard Owen seven litre Ford Galaxie was sick and retired just before the race start. There were some great battles throughout the grid which hopefully Mook has captured - particularly one between those old sparring partners Ford Anglia, Mini Cooper and Hillman Imp.

After my static shots enjoy race action from John Spiers - fifth placed epic battle with the Bob Bullen Anglia.

Hopefully Round 2 of Historic BSCC 3 from Suzuka East on 6th July will live up to the action I witnessed at Brands Hatch on Sunday! If you are reading this and haven't joined the series yet - what are you waiting for? We still have a couple of slots left - any age, novice or experienced racer welcome - just do your best to drive cleanly!

Hello Sick and all racer's can Race tonight if you have space but unsure of car/colour bscc.Max;)..

If you pick the Renault 8 - that can't be painted. If you choose a Mini you could be Tuxedo Black - the same colour I'm using. It's a Chevrolet colour. If you choose a Mini switch to a Plymouth Cuda from lap 7 onwards.

See you soon - just about to open the room.

Harsk, it was a man's job ! Thus, it is possible to get ahead of others just mess up the competition ! But you have been knocked out of everyone , not only me that the others can stay competitive !
Thanks

So sorry Pimiki!

I didn't mean divebomb on you. I meant to pass you...

You should choose a method which does not destroy the overtaking other játékát.Remélem on the basis of the jury 's decision grievance place and learn from it.

Round 2 Points BSCC.jpg

Please note the following change in the results from round 2: the results and points of Pimiki and Harsk have been swapped - this is as a result of contact between the two. Suzuka East is a difficult track to pass on and some areas are too narrow for clean passing. All drivers please continue to attempt to drive cleanly and without contact between cars. Please be patient and wait for safe passing opportunities to present themselves.

It was good to welcome back @nonka (Maximusmonster) who will join us when his work pattern permits. One slot has been reserved for @Daniel199025 which leaves one slot available - if you would like to join this series you are most welcome.

Next Round 3 from Deep Forest on Wednesday 13th July at 20:30 BST

Here's a few more shots from my recent visit to Brands Hatch - this time front engined Formula Junior cars. This formula ran from 1958 to 1963 before being replaced by Formula 3. Formula One world champions who passed through this formula on their way to the top include Jim Clark, John Surtees and Denny Hulme.

Below almost all the Formula Junior cars were fitted with highly modified Ford Anglia engines. This unit was chosen because of its over square dimensions and eight port design which gave good breathing.

Above rare Moorland Mark 1 used a BMC five port engine. There was a DKW two stroke triple powered Elva 100 in the race, which made a fantastic sound and a lot of smoke, but unfortunately I was unable to get a photo!

Welcome to @CrazyJohn - I hope you enjoy the series.

I haven't had time to review the replay from Friday, but I did notice more contact than desirable for a clean race.
