Am I the only guy here using the 3400S?

21.4
48.8
1'02.2xx - 1'01.8xx (forgot to check during the lap, and forgot to save the replay :banghead: )

alright so heres my time so far
T1: 999:59.999
T2:999:59.999
T3:999:59.999
Lap Time: 999:59.999(whoops not supposed to post lap times)

actually i just was trying to find a car i like and left my ps2 on overnight. but so far im liking the speed 6 the most. maybe give the RGT a try here real quick

Real Times
T1: 21.705
T2: 49.589
T3: 1:03.087

Edit: Gotta love the RGT running the stock settings i got a 1:03.0 Wondering if anyone would like to provide their RGT settings?

ok, done some more laps now. car is blinding. if i can get all sectors together, the T3 and overall time is mind boggling. as it is i have a new T3

1'00.301 hopefully going supersonic tomorrow or maybe even tonight if i can catch lightning in a bottle.

Well hey max, Ive got a ton of lighting bottled up. I eat it for breakfast so I can crap thunder... so just hit me on aim with your address. ;)

As for me, my times are still behind max and still being chipped away, so Im not posting. :mischievous:

Back tomorrow, as I will have a good day for running this race. (although it is getting to that time where I have to worry about setting up next week, hence, my time for this week is drawing to a close.) (of course, I guess I could just not test the race and stick it to us all un-tested... that would give me the extra time I need.)

Anyway, catch you guys later. :D

20.7/47.8/1.00.5

I'm think i'm done here :)

Well done to Max, ... I tried!...but your too good for me in the RGT:tup:

Started tuning tonight, working on suspension for now, I settled on the car I am using too....though I have a back-up to run to keep things fresh...though it is a good 1.5secs off my main car. I'm running in the mid 1'02.xxxS now, hopefully I can get that down to the high 1'01.xxxS this weekend....

F1 practice is on now...must watch!

Switched over to the RGT... though I don't have a saved lap yet... best splits (not all in the same lap) are:

0:20.973
0:47.806
1:00.569

I can't seem to make it to T3 with any of those sub 48 T2's!

So... it looks like I should be able to get it down to a 1:00.3 if I can just make it all the way around on a full lap... I suspect my TOTAL lap time can fall by 1.5 seconds. (Since I have not yet come close to putting all four sections together)

allright i put in enough time for me so i think im done for the week. i am quite satisfied with my results right now.

T1: 21.3
T2: 48.655
T3: 1:01.965

New best for me so far...

T1 20.076 T2 48.541 T3 1:01.758 RUF RGT CLEAN LAP

Man this Porker has some serious rear end grip, also still trying ...TVR,NSX,Z Concept,RX8...still a bit of time left for testing, gonna try seriously hard to get into the 1 minute bracket for T3:)

I've never entered the online races, so I'd be way off the pace. But tell me, how do you prove your lap time.I can't take a screen dump or anything, so how can I enter?

OK..

I had couple laps in the RGT. Thats a very nice car.. Some improvements for me 👍 21.5/49.0/1´02.2

I´m really having fun this week. I think that I´ll try the TVR and the NSX also, but the Ruf seems to be the best for me.´I really don´t have a clue how I should drive the first corner (the right) and the big curve before the T2. I´m sooo slow in those two spots :)

Later till I get better times :D

Damn! Damn!!!!!!!:irked:

I ran in a new RGT last night and saved my best run which has a 1.00.6 T3 ....... I overwrote my best save to find out that my p/w is at 2.447 on my save   all that running for nothing :odd:

I give in :irked: maybe I'll try again ... not too sure yet as i'm still pissed by this stupidity :embarrassed:

I've been sticking to my guns with the RX-7 and took it down to a 1'01.8, but had three wheels off by just a hair in one place. Too bad for me, cause it was .600 faster than my previous best lap :irked:

I think I'm gonna give in and try the RGT... anyone care to share a setup? I've never driven the RGT before.

Here are Some Tips for T1 (not that I'm much faster, but..)

For the big right before T2, I figured out last night that if I ride the rumble strips on the inside (using them to turn the car) I can keep it in 5th through the whole turn, and gain .250-.500 through just that corner! It's a pretty delicate balancing act, though, cause you can't touch the dirt or you're screwed :( :(

Hi Luxy! And thanks for the tips! I´m gonna try those lines. 👍

I can post my setup if you want, but I´m really not good at setting up cars. :)

i was'nt going to post my setup purely because it is probably useless to everybody but what the hell here goes:

4.0/20.0
78/84 (more arbitrary numbers make it look like i'm a fine tuner)
10/10
10/10
2.0/1.0
0.0/-2.0
1/1

24/24

5/5/5
Tranny is the autosetting that is topping out at the end of frontstraight

DF: max front/ .54

TCS 1

the car is slightly looser than a whale's snatch so mind your p's and q's.
and whatever you do, DON"T FIGHT THE CAR YOU WILL LOSE. (hey, that rymed. i'm a poet and did'nt know it).

also to assist everybody, i have taken the liberty of posting Famine's take on RR driving technique:

Originally dreamed up by famine
This merits a category even though there’s only one in the game - the Ruf RGT. RRs are like FFs except not. Well that’s clear then. RRs require a very specific driving technique, as follows:
Drive very fast.
Brake in a straight line for a corner.
Accelerate as you turn into the corner.
Drive very fast.
The pendulum motion of the rear end will literally slingshot you round the corner, and with all that weight sitting on the rear axle you don’t have to worry much about turning the car round by accident. What’s the downside? If you’re not spot-on with your technique you’ll be passed by everything else including the Demio. And if you lift off the brakes too quickly, you’ll be passed by your own rear end...

i personally find it fairly accurate with the noteable exception that i do not brake in a straight line but instead cut the wheel while braking to enduce powerslide.

and no, i did not ask famine to quote from his web page and if he does'nt like the free publicity he can get stuffed.

Since everyone seems to be driving the RGT now, I'll give it another go today and see how it stacks up to my times with the 3400S and the RX-7. Sector times to come (If I remember to save the replay  )

I've only had time to run the Alpha 156 and NSX Zero. The Alpha can be made setup with very friendly handling but is just to slow even though it is pushing about 444HP

And the Zero, I really don't know what is wrong with this car...I adore it in stock form but with racing suspension it seems to drive like a pissed off badger...it oversteers then snap understeers as if ASM was turned on. I really don't get what this car's problem is.

I'll probably try some other cars later if I have the patience for it. I'd like to try running something other then the RGT but a lot of potentially good 2.5 ratio cars do not meet the weight requirments.

My setup is actually quite similar to max's (weird)

4.0 / 20.0
69 / 84
10 / 10
10 / 10
3.1 / 1.5
0.5 / -2.0
5 / 7
5 / 5 / 5
tranny tricked
0.29 / 0.35
TCS = 1

EDIT: put in correct settings... memory failure set in between last night and when I posted this....

This is starting to look like a 'Who's Who' of virtual racing. All the dreaded big guns show up for our little party at Apricot Hill.....and the drink of choice seems to be the Ruf RGT.

As daan mentioned earlier, with a rear wing and a few other favorable design features, it looks like the 'no brainer' . That is 'if' you can drive the dang thing, fast. I can't.....so I'll be bucking the odds with something else.

Right now, unless I really find my way around here; I'll be at least 1.5 seconds off the leaders pace.:(

Had a run in the Rx-8....it's a nimble car handling-wise, but slightly anemic in the torgue department.

Ran a personal best T1 at 21.131.....the other sectors have not improved though.:banghead:

Man these pits are busy.....I hope this doesn't turn into a Ruf Spec Race.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Max E....what.?...are you taking steroids! We need to give you that urine test.:D

*sigh*

I don't know whether to cheer or cry ...

After double-stinting my RGT (the oil light has come on twice), I've got a new clean lap:

21.0
47.9
1'01.1

... but ... it's killing me because on that lap, I was -0.792 up on my ghost at T3, and only -0.186 up on it at the end of the lap ... so it's a decent lap, but I dropped .606 between T3 and the end. I know is there, but damn if I didn't try for two hours to match that lap up to T3.   :( :( :(

Thanks for the sets, gentleman. I went with something a little more neutral, though:

Suspension:
7.5 / 14
69 / 79
8/8
8/8
2.0 / 1.0
3/3

Brakes:
16 / 20

LSD:
10
25
12

gears: auto 26 (I think)

df: max
asm: 0
tcs: 1

I have a whole new respect for the RGT. I've always been skeptical of the whole RR business, but I have to say I'm converted. One of the most stable cars I've driven (until you hit a rumble strip, anyway), good grunt, and good brakes. 👍

I think viper just made a good point.

Fact is, the rgt is really a hard car to master. (for most of us, punk arse max. ;) )

Anyway, I just got back from school, and although it is not really anything cool, I sure had some fun on the ride home. (ok not really)

But, for *20 minutes I cruised within 25 yards of a black ferrari 550 maranello. :jawdrops:

Man it was awesome, and everytime it passed someone, I was amazed... I have never seen something accelerate with such ease when cruising at such high speeds. I mean, this thing was taking off without even dropping the rearend the slightest. (which says to me that he wasn't even coming close to putting in some real power)

But still, it was awesome and fittingly, I was in awe.

Ok, I've got a bit of a mystery happening.

Yesterday, I wanted to try out an RGT. Being the lazy guy that I am, I didn't want to have to break it in, so I added it to my garage with MK, and set it up to be broken in (as suggested in
this thread):

476=-1
480=-1
484=-1
488=-1

Before I started running, I added a Stage 2 N/A and a Racing Muffler, with gave me 447hp / 2.5pwr.

After running it until the oil light came on, I went back to sim mode and changed the oil. I took a look in my garage, to make sure everything was still on the up and up, and the car had 470hp / 2.4pwr

I've been searching around this morning for another thread that would confirm the instructions in the one above, but I can't find an independent source ...

Did I set up the car incorrectly when I tried to set it to be broken in? Can anyone with a little more MK experience set me straight?

Also, how can I check my replay to make sure that I'm within the rules? Just the HP number, when I go to choose a replay in replay theatre?
