I think they could offer more interesting events weekly. Those Sunday cup events are dumb. I'd wish each event would offer a bit of challenge.

Anyway, did Sunday Cup with the Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint '67 only the Swift was a bit of a threat. Not interested in doing it again with a lesser car to see how low I could go.

Got Bore S for the Toyota S-FR '15, but I've already installed them before so to the trashcan they go.

Won the Porsche event too.
I like the Sunday cup events (or other similar early-game events). That means new players can at least do 1 race as well, I’m sure that’s the reason those races are always included. And for us veteran players it’s nice to do some lower PI races again (even though low PI is not mandatory).

Good suggestion to give it a go in the old Alfa, I’ll give that a try as well. Or else the old Citroen DS, I like that car a lot.

Oh, the Redbull race requires Level 50? I was getting all excited to just finish golding the Super Licenses and win a free X2019 but I'm only Collector Level 33 on my second account. I would probably have to Gold all the Master Licenses and gold all the Human Comedy events to win enough cars to get me close to Level 50. I'll never get all that done in a week's time.

They have already plenty of content to play with, and they won't be able to enter the Redbull event, so I am not sure if it is brought up for them.

I used these cars this week.

I'm saving the Red Bull race for later, but all the other races were straight forward.

Parts ticket have me turbo for the Bugatti Chiron.

You don't need to complete it, only start it.

I also discovered a few weeks back that completing a race that's only unlockable (I guess, for want of a better word) through a menu book ticks off the race in the menu book even if you aren't actively participating in that menu book.

To save time in case they came up in WCs, I started them all in order, then went back and completed the quickest one to get rid of the compass icon from my screen; don't recall which. Anyway, when I did the WTC900 one a couple of weeks back, it ticked the race off in the menu book despite that book not being active.

It's worth noting again that the 25th Anniversary car is eligible, if you were awarded it for the 2022 GT World Series final "campaign" events. If you weren't then the Competition is an all-golds reward for the regular Super Licence.

Otherwise... yeah, steep entry fee. Though you will make a third of it back even without Clean Race Bonuses this week. You can always use it to polish off the five races in the series, which is 915,000cr before CRB - and doubtless we'll see it pop up again in a WC in the very near future.

For some reason I don't recall, I've got two Competitions as well as the Anniversary... Maybe a ticket reward?
Possibly the free car ticket from this Christmas, or the free car ticket in the recent WC?
The reason for that is on the last page. Twice. One of which is the article.
Takes a drink

1. BMW M3 '89 on Brand Hatch - CRB

2. Porsche 911 GT3 RS ’22 on Autopolis - CRB

3. Clio V6 on Northern Isle Speedway - CRB

4. Nissan Skyline R32 on Tokyo Expressway - no CRB

5. Red Bull thing... on Trial Mountain - no CRB

Ok, here we go again - the same procedure as last week, friends ( Challenge For One ) :

Race 1
Gran Turismo™ 7_20240104145504.jpg
This one actually took me quite a few attempts  ... as I was trying to win in the closest possible way. Gave my Fiat just enough power to take the lead on the very last meters.

Race 2
Gran Turismo™ 7_20240104170824.jpg
Not much to say here. I've been driving the full stock car, needed a lap or two to get used to its handling but then passed the rabbit at the beginning of lap 4. Did you know that my home town is just about 10 kilometers from Zuffenhausen ? :)

Race 3
Gran Turismo™ 7_20240104121622.jpg
This is the car I used for @Barareklam 's girlfriend 's Mini challenge on Alsace a long long time ago. :D So the race today has been full of deja-vu s when running circles around Lambo s, BMW s and AMG s.

Race 4
Gran Turismo™ 7_20240104123320.jpg
This Nissan's a monster, the race has been an easy win accordingly. Been in P1 approaching the twisty section of the second lap and went to cruise mode then. :sly:

Race 5
Gran Turismo™ 7_20240104102029.jpg
I don't like Red Bull cars too much, the completionist in me insisted on running this challenge though. Used RH tires, had one stop at the end of lap 8 and came in second - 5 seconds behind the leader with a total of 22:06 ... and passed on another attempt.

So my question is : Is there a new set of 5 tomorrow ?

I used this car for fun, and... it is actually more hilarious than I expected. The engine noise is pretty awesome. I was hopping for more 800PP and 900PP races this week, but I'll try the RedBull race later today after work. Something new for a change from my usual GT3 and LMP1 races.

This week is pretty "meh". Not excited it all to complete the challenges. Today I completed 3 out of 5 races. Left the X2019 and Porsche one make for later.

I drove the Ford Roadster in the Sunday Cup, a Pagani Huayra (an overkill) in the European Sunday Cup and a GTR R33 for the Nismo GT event.

Add me to the list of those that weren't super stoked on this weeks challenges. Brands Hatch again? 992 GT3 again? We need variety and races that use underutilized cars. I also might have woke up on the wrong side of the bed today or something... Regardless, I'm still going to do them and thankfully the X2019 race ended up being a awesome and fun challenge!

I used the Honda S600 for the Sunday Cup. Fun for a minute, but basically a nothing race. No video on that one.

The GT3 race was another ho-hum run for me. The 992 is so good it's almost boring to drive, and though I do like Autopolis, this one just wasn't exciting to me today. No vid here either.

Back at Brands Hatch... again, and decided to build up something as an underdog to the others, and I landed on the 2016 Fiat 500 Abarth I've never driven. Threw a bigger turbo, some suspension, SS tires and some other little bits on it to bring it into the low 500s, but still had to drive like an A-hole to get around the C63 at the very end. The little Fiat needs some more power and suspension tweaking to be all that it can be, but it still managed a win here.

After that one I thought it would be fun to bring some actual competition to the same race, so I took the little Fiat back home and brought out the 997 GT3. Even though this Porsche is still in the low 500s (on SH) it was easy to trounce the AI pretty quickly while forcing the tail out and driving like a dork. Fun race in a fun and familiar car. I love this thing.

And now for the pies de resistance (spelling?), the X2019 at Trial Mountain. What an awesome challenge, probably made more so by me deciding on a no-stop on RH after seeing that we didn't need to pay attention to fuel at all. I haven't yet looked to see what others are doing here.

I'm a hard line "no TCS" driver, so traction management was intense. Even on fresh tires, it can light up RHs pretty much any time you're in a low gear or outside of downforce. This thing does not forgive aggressive throttle inputs, and as the tires continued to wear, it only became more and more of a job to keep them from going up in smoke and tossing me into Barry R. I was also probably pretty slow because of the very real fear of me losing it at any point during the run causing me to be conservative. I forgot to look at the replay to see what tires the AI were on, but I doubt they were also on RH.

Even with all that I still had hubris though. Once the AI had all pitted around lap 7 I thought I was in the clear to slow down a bit and conserve the tires and my nerves, but as the laps went on I started seeing little shadows in my tiny rear-view cameras... shadows that soon started to come into view. They were catching up. The AI put pretty consistent pressure on me for the last few laps which brought the stress levels up and made for an intense finish. This was the race of the week for me.

Might try this one again one-stopping it on RS and see how that goes.

Next up I'll go grab the gold on the Trial Mountain TT. Should help that the X2019 race just forced me to do like 30 laps there!

These were my choices: Mildly tuned Cappuccino on CS: my only CRB-win
Mildly tuned Watsteiner M3 on SS-win (too many stupid AI moves)
992 on RS. I sacrificed power for handling to bring it down to 700pp. Dropped around 120hp and the handling paid off with a win. Again sadly, stupid AI braking points.
Mildly tuned Zexel R33 on RS hung with the big boy R35's and I won it right at this final hairpin. Hate Tokyo's narrow roads.
Will tackle the RB after I finish the Neo page.

I decided to run the events in reverse order so the Sunday Cup will have a decent payout with that ticket.

The RedBull event was a classic GT series rubberband AI race. Couldn’t make up a second on P1 and P2 only to fly by them on lap 12 and coast to victory.

Drove the 2nd account tonight. Ran a bone stock ‘89 Miata at Northern Isle, a bone stock ‘14 TTS Coupe at Brands Hatch and a bone stock ‘17 GT-R at Tokyo. Hard difficulty, Easy money. Parts ticket was a S Bore up for an AMG. 5* marathon paid out 500k, though.

What does the phrase "bone stock" mean?

I know that "stock" refers to a car the way it comes off the manufacturing floor, untouched and untuned.

Usually the " bone " refers to untouched but you can use it and if you change tyres cause the race demands to do so.

It's a term that used also for giving emphasis that you don't interfere with suspension settings , aero ,LCD , etc.

Ugh, not a fan of driving the RBX at all - hadn't done the menu yet so I did the menu race at Dragon Trail to unlock the weekly. Did the DT race with RM tyres which were just red-blocks for two laps before the end of the race, which I have to admit the car seemed pretty okay with. Trial Mountain tonight.
