That car is very fun to drive, easy to control with good speed. 🙂
Indeed!

On the Plus account, as I doubled up on Sarthe earlier in the week, I doubled up on Tokyo, using the X-Bow for a no-stop close win. It is the weekend, so that didn't conclude the racing.

After that, I did a double stint at Sardegna, first using the Citroen Gr.3. It wasn't close, though I had to do some fuel saving to make the fuel last 5 laps on FM1, and I had to change the RH tires at both stops. Laps were mostly in the 1:40-1:41 range.

The second Sardegna race was with the Beetle Gr.3, after @HarVee and @NW_Saint had positive reports about it. It's adequate for a normal difficulty race, lasting exactly 5 laps on fuel. I might have gotten away with changing the RH tires only once, but I figured better safe than sorry. The laps were mostly in the 1:42-1:43 range.

The all-cash 5-star Wheel of Despair gave the lowest-possible/3rd-lowest-showing 100,000 Cr. That, along with the 3-race bounty, got me through the L's on the 1,000,000 Cr. Brand Central list (the Jaguar Roadster, Lamborghini and Lexus). That also completes the 2022-and-newer portion of the Car Index (at least for now; there's 5 cars in the "Other" category).

I did the same tour on the GTP account, going to the tuned R33 at Tokyo after finding the aero-tuned Corvette not quite capable anymore. I still had to block Kokubun on the last lap in a slow 28:00 finish. The normal oil after the race might have had something to do with that.

I then tried to win with the 4C Gr.3 at Sardegna. I took the 8-second loss to Portilla, who did it in 27:01, as my 1-stop strategy (FM4 on the first stint/FM3 on the second) failed. An earlier 2-stop strategy was abandoned after a 1st-lap yellow flag cost me 6 seconds.

I took revenge with a stock Supra GT500 on a 2-stop strategy. My time of 27:07 was almost the same as with the 4C, but Portilla was 17 seconds slower this time.

The 4-star marathon roulette was kind for a change - it gave me the middle-showing (and 2nd-highest-possible) 500,000 Cr.

Improved my time in the Maggiore time trial to a 2:19.7, a whole second faster than my previous best. That Z is just a mix of oversteer and understeer when pushed to the limit, but I managed to get the best time that I could. It is a road car, so I shouldn’t be shocked

This is the livery I used in that run, courtesy of button-joe, as seen in a recent HSG video. I then replicated the tune in the same video. It is a significant improvement over the stock tune.

CE golds at Alsace and Dragon Tail Gardens. Really like the Gr.3 Renault used in the first, should probably give it a proper try in Sport.

Used the winnings towards the Porsche 919 and the RUF to complete the German section of Brand Central. Onto Italy and some lovely Alfas.

Running a bunch of laps at the Nurburgring lately. I do have to say that PD needs to fix the timing system on the tourist layout because it doesn't even register your first lap.

Either way, this car is mostly stock except for suspension and brakes, sport filter and exhaust, and some minor aero. Biggest change is full racing transmission so I could replicate the DCT version. Super fun on SH tires.

Then I made a GTS replica, as close as I could get it. Unfortunately you can only increase the engine size to 4.2L, needs to be 4.4L. But same weight and power as the real car, similar aero, etc. Even more fun here on SM tires.

This is my ‘end game’ plan. Build lots of cars to fast road spec. That and replicate real models. So far I’ve only done it with the R32 GT-R. Building a Mines replica.

I don’t like going too wild with road cars. Lose the essence of what they are.

As for what I did today. Won the St. Croix and Suzuka Gr.1 events. Along with Daytona they were pretty tough initially. But then I found the right cars (787B & 919) and won all events pretty easily.

Ran one WTC700 with the A220. Heavy rain starting at the end of lap 2, changed to Wets. Ran them to lap 5, switched to IM's for the finish.

Ran one WTC800 with the Sauber Mercedes. One stop at FM1, changing tires on lap 9.

Wheel gave up 5k credits. Up to 73M now.

I'm so mad right now.

I tried to complete one of the Human Comedy endurance races (the one in Kyoto).

I was using a Rascal - I knew it had top speed limitations, but its light weight meant I could save fuel, and tyre wear, have superior handling, and not pit at all.

And indeed, I did not pit - I raced using fuel map 1 all race, and did not need to pit.

However, I ended up coming third, because with 5 minutes to go, the AI driving the Alfa Romeo reamed into the rear quarter of my car in a turn, causing me to spin out, and hit a wall at 100 kph.

I lost control, Solis overtook me, and I didn't have the top speed necessary to wretle it back.

Dirty tactic, and I'm mad.

Did the 1h of Spa 800 in a Pagani Zonda today. After that a Sardegna 800 in a Ferrari Enzo. Both easy wins on hard. I am building up the confidence that the Ferrari Enzo can win the 1h of Spa 800 on hard difficulty too.

so what did I do today,

Daily Races.

Race 1. Joined the lobby for Daily Race C - the Fuji Speedway. Joined along with 16 other hopefuls only to have 15 of them get kicked with the Polyphony deny all knowledge AF-160400 error leaving me sole entrant and a win.. happy bunny

Race 2. Joined the lobby, something not right - lobby forms but not allowed to warm up, after 3 mins it moves to the race line start but only 3 cars in the running - everyone else quits or kicked not sure I’m 2nd so think even though the others are in 919s I’m confident my Mazda will give me a chance of win…. So 3 of us, but after 2 mins nothing, 5 mins nothing just a black screen, 10 mins same, 15mins same, I let it run from 11.30 to 11.58 my time and quit - losing my BS rating and now I’m BA - well done developer another quality experience

Race 3. Made the lobby and we are away, I hold my position down the straights, through turn 1 pick up a place from a car running wide - I’m the only non 919 in the race so don’t expect too much. Lap 2 all is good until the trick infield section that twists and turns back to the long straight - 2 cars clash and ghost, I see my chance and shoot through into 4th, happy days…. But no, even though I don’t hit anyone or touch anyone I pick up a 5 second penalty for forcing another car off the road.. another quality negative Polyphony moment delivered by A sub standard inept piece of penalty code - I carry on and serve my penalty but from 4th to 12th isn’t going to improve my dark mood but we press on.

I make progress move up to 11th after another guy runs wide, over next 2 laps cut the 5 second gap to 10th place by 4 seconds, he short on battery down the straight and I pick him off in the braking zone - around turn 1 pull a small lead but he has battery so catches me into turn 2 - small hit as he late brakes down the inside - pushes me off the track to the right but not enough to warrant or deserve a penalty however I pick up a 1 second track limits penalty and at the point enough enough I quit - any chance of regaining my S rating is going to have to wait.

too many negative experiences with the game, too many negatives caused by the game not necessarily other drivers.

for me as I’ve said before the online stuff is not great - so that’s me done for the day with GT7 let’s see what tomorrow brings - Warzone 2 multiplayer Beta is my next port of call

what kind of enduro? What circuit?
I recreate races from GTS. I did the Monza Gr 3 Enduro (30 Laps with 3x Fuel and 4x Tire).

My cars are all tuned for more competitive racing (730PP for Gr 3 and 630PP for Gr 4).

On the Plus account, I had an all-too-easy run at Tokyo with the Mercedes-AMG GT R, finishing the 1-stop (lap 7) race in 27:38. The 6-star engine marathon roulette gave me a Sport quattro engine, which I shall hang onto until I get one in the GTP account (or a second one here) so I don't have to bother my sources for the post-November price of the Sport quattro.

On the GTP account, I gave the aero-tuned Corvette C7 one more try at Tokyo, and it netted me an easy win. I guess it was the oil that was bad last time.

Speaking of bad, the 4-star Wheel of Despair gave the lowest-possible 10,000 Cr. I then gave the WRS time trial another go.

Did the Tomahawk glitch. Got a four star Ferrari invite so I bought the LaFerrari with it. I thought I had an engine for Tuscan Speed Six but I didn't so once I realized that I started playing something else

The Enzo was also an easy win at Spa. :-)

Enjoyed spending much of the day slapping real-world liveries on my cars and racing them. Slapped three JGTC/Super GT liveries on each of my Silvia TCs, as well as on my second 2008 GT-R and NSX GT500s. I also made an Alpine A110 GT4 that I plan on using for the Le Mans WTC700 tomorrow morning.

I also made a Mine’s R34 GT-R and an E92 BMW M3 GTS to add to my road car fleet. I criticize this game for stuff like its lack of events, broken lobbies, and broken PP system, but the amount of creativity that is possible is unlike anything I’ve experienced in a racing game. You may need a lot of credits for some ideas (e.g. the Super Formula One race I did at Fuji a while back; the cars costed me 20 million in total together), which makes me beg for PD to add a feature where you can apply multiple liveries for the same car in a custom race without having to buy multiple cars.

Through complete and utter happenstance I got my hands on a PS5 today.

I had bought an xbox X from best buy, but cancelled the order this morning because my GF could get it cheaper there using her membership.
She couldn't get the order to go through, so we went to the store as she had some things to return.

Turns out they were sold out from the 3 they had in stock the night before. Behind the counter was a PS5 bundle with some game or another, and some controllers. I asked if they were for sale. They were!

Holy ****ing **** is GT7 different on the 5 from 4.
The brake/gas triggers have resistance to them making my braking all screwy, I have to completely re-learn my cars.

All of that to say I started 2nd at RBR in the daily and finished 10th because of how different the brake and gas feels.
Steering feels awesome but I have to adjust to the gas/brake quite a bit

I ended up winning this race eventually.

Still seething about the dirty AI.

Today I saw a Supra with a Team Rocket livery while messing about in multiplayer, and decided to be ready in case they show up again:

The low RPM supercharger sure gets this thing moving in a straight line, but you better not miss your braking points by even a millimeter if you want to keep from scraping the walls. Scary, but in a fun way.

Did the Gr 4 Daily. Would've won it, but the guy behind forced me wide before the tunnel...

Got 500k, though. So can't complain.

Because I’m a weird person, I decided to make a Gr.4 Charger Hellcat today. It isn’t half bad. Some oversteer on corner exit, but some adjustments to the suspension helped eliminate some of it.

I also slapped Calsonic Impul liveries on three of my Nissan GT500 cars.

Livery credits:
  • sRAISEA for the 2016 version
  • YAMAHA-GT50-4M7 for the 2008 version
  • nisseki19 for the 2000 version

it has been brought to my attention that I can modify how resistant the triggers are in the configuration menu of the console itself. Color me dumb :D
