The dreaded S-10!

Several months after walking away from it, a late night / early morning session yielded the Gold. But only just...

It was the first and only time I'd managed to bring it over the line.

More half hour enduros, more random stock vehicles, more underused track layouts. I'm definitely going to have to spend more time practicing on Sardegna's shorter layouts, I really shouldn't have had so much difficulty wrangling a Celica GT-Four around there even considering that the track has a couple rather deceptive turns that all the layouts like to make use of.

Probably going to do a race or two with rain involved next, just to get an idea of how sport tires perform compared to inters and full wets. That's something i haven't really experimented with since i usually only buy rain tires for the full-on racing cars.

On the GTP account, I did something rather stupid - I tried the McLaren 650S GT3 at Sardegna on a 1-stop strategy. I had to stretch the fuel a bit on FM 4 to make it 8 laps, and I didn't quite pass Portilla after his 3rd pit stop. I managed to keep Beauvois behind me (for what would become 2nd after Ordonez pitted) after I passed him going into the first turn on lap 11 after his second stop through some mildly defensive driving. Nothing overt, mind you, but just enough. Both Portilla and Beauvois had to pit after lap 14 for a splash of fuel, which allowed me a 10-second win over Portilla in 27:19.

The no-cash 4-star Wheel of Despair "rewarded" me with a Porsche invitation. I'm not going to refill the coffers after getting a rare Ferrari out of Hagerty's the other day that way, especially since I have all the Carrera GTs I could hope for.

On the Plus account, I found the Ford GT Race Car fast enough for a 2-stop strategy, taking a relatively easy win in 27:03. The 4-star Wheel of Despair gave the low-showing 30,000 Cr., not giving enough to get the next 1,000,000-Cr. car.

Practiced for the GTWS Manu Rd 7 (Dragon Trail Seaside / Nissan GTR). Also did a test race to see what it was like with fuel weight in the car.

I originally say at 1:46.3 for the TT but after finding a few neat tricks (plus death chicane courage and precision!) I managed to get into the 1:45.1 time, jumping from nearly 900th to being in the top 300 at the time of writing.

If I can make that kind of performance tomorrow, I'll be very happy!

I bought the Ferrari 250 GT yesterday. God, the wheelspin is exessive in stock form. That old suspension is not doing it any favors. It’s a pretty similar situation to the Shelby GT350’s. I will keep it anyway for the collection and because I love Ferraris. I will definitely use it for a scape or two in the future.

Then, I grinded my way back towards the cap again because my OCD makes me uncomfortable seeing my GT bank account close enough to 100 million. I used all sorts of stuff. Fully-upgraded Gr.Bs at Le Mans, detuned Group Cs at Sardegna, and more.

My hiatus is about to officially begin. I hope you all get the ability to sell your cars and have better lobby experiences while I am gone.

I took my 997 out for the obligatory daily WTC700 grind, got a 4* roulette ticket, and somehow walked away with a GT-R Nismo. After that, I decided to make kind of a project using my RUF CTR3. My goal was to make it look like a mid-late 2000s ALMS GT1 car.

Ran one WTC700 with the A220. The rain started at the middle of lap 2 and lasted until the middle of lap 6. Stopped twice for Wets. It was the heaviest rain I've seen so far. The wheel gave some POS Mazda sedan that I'll never use.

I'm up to 81M credits now.

I'm waiting for the 787B, 962, CLK, and the R92CP.

Booted up one of my alts. Was at the Tokyo Championships. 197,000 Credits saved. 19 cars and on spent just over 14,000 Car.(for that initial first car).

Completed the Championship. Gold a couple Circuit Experiences and now sitting at 1.5Mil Cr. Going to see how much I can save without buying anything I want. Will be interesting over these next months.
My main account is sitting under 400mil acquired(no scripts used). I think around 160mil spent on upgrades. Over 1100 cars bought.

It's looking more like November for the CLK and 962, and December for the 787B and R92CP.

Nice bit of driving, @GTvsForza.

Bought like 60 million of European cars, I’m missing the invitations only now because I did not have the money when I had them, but I’m grinding Tokyo till the next update, I can average out 15 million on a good day, so I should be back around a good amount I think, I have like 381 cars with 15 repeats and have like 90% of brand central vehicles I’m dreading the Hagerty’s and used cars purchases 😭

On the Plus account, after failing to make the 2006 Viper work at a wet Tokyo, I blitzed it with the 2013 Viper. The 3-star Wheel of Despair, naturally, gave the lowest-possible 5,000 Cr.

On the GTP account, I used the 2006 Ford GT to great effect at Tokyo, even though I drove like an idiot. The 3-star Wheel of despair gave the low-showing 10,000 Cr.

Me: "I'm sure driving a stock Fiat 500F around Goodwood for a half hour won't be that bad."

Me, 30 minutes later:

It didn't help that I turned the time acceleration all the way up for a laugh, so it really did feel more like 30 years than 30 minutes.
You're a better man than I am. I don't want to drive a stock Fiat 500F anywhere or anytime, including in real life.

That'll work out fine. I want to get to the 100M cap so I can get the cars I really want and upgrade them. I'll then fill in the gaps with lesser cars and run all the series I'm interested in.

Ran three WTC700's with the A220. One was dry, one had the normal rain, one had wacky rain patterns-I had rain come from the south, then the east, then the west. All about 1-1/2 laps each. I got caught out on RH's on one cycle, regular stop to change to IM's, then it seemed to be drying out, had a big enough lead, so back in for RH's for the last 2 laps.

I also ran a WTC800 with the LM55 VGT Gr.1. It's an outstanding car.

Over 85M now.

Almost forgot. Got a 3-star ticket for 5k.

Culled my garage. Dropped down to one original car of each. 339/439. Of my garage, 111 have zero kilometres. 93 of those cars are real world cars. Started doing one lap of Tsukuba which puts 2kms on the odometer.

I’ll be adding three more cars after this next update.

On the Plus account, after buying IM and wet tires for the Renault Megane Trophy, I blitzed a somewhat-wet Sarthe as I was the only one to come down for intermediate tires on lap 2, and the track got just wet enough for them during lap 3. The 4-star Wheel of Despair did once again disappoint, with the lowest-possible 10,000 Cr., but it was enough to get the McLaren VGT.

On the GTP account, I dragged the Silvia Touring Car out of retirement for a rather wet, if only briefly, Sarthe stomping. It was wet enough that some of the backmarkers took intermediates on lap 2, which is when I took full-wet tires. Naturally, it did a lot more to begin to refill the credit tank than the low-showing 10,000 Cr. 3-star Wheel of Despair did.
That Megane Trophy is excellent, isn't it?

I'm thinking of getting the Silvia Touring Car just for variety. Who's tune do you use for it? Thanks.

I grabbed Praiano's suspension/aero/LSD settings for it, which makes it 646.15 PP. It's otherwise stock (Praiano took a lot of power out and customized the transmission to get it down to under 630 PP...at least as of mid-May). I should see if it's possible fully-stock.

Praiano was also my go-to to get the 962 C down to 800 PP, initially for the Neoclassical Challenge. At Sardegna, if I have a clear track, I can get down to the 1:35s at the end of a run. Before 1.20, I had my choice of doing a 1-lap/no-tire run at FM1 or a no-stop run at FM6, but since then, the tires give up the ghost by lap 15.

Thanks for the info.

You're MUCH faster than I am.

I used Praiano's Sauber C9 for the Neoclassical Challenge. No stops.

My daily routine for now (since I’m playing Snowrunner again):

  • check UCD for a car I might need (BMW CSL 3.0 ‘73 livery anyone?)
  • check LCD for the same
  • do Sardegna once in the CLK so I get my daily rigged gambling ticket. Today the PD gambling Gods were on my side as it was a 1.000.000 Cr. ticket (it’s been months since I got one of those).
