What did you do in GT7 today?

I was testing some more GR3 Cars and did some time trial for the upcoming GTWS Season.
Earned me some Cash and spent it all on upgrade parts.
There’s so much stuff to buy, god dammit, I need more Cash 😅

Did a lot of fast, faster, even faster with the G29 and a few favorite cars. Pretty happy with the stock settings. Did some races that were still untouched, did a bunch of laps of Nurburgring in various cars with various times of day. Bought some wheels and trim. Bought that Miata race car which was always a favorite. Found the Copen in the used lot yesterday, which could be tuned into a fun tiny car in past games. No real goal in mind, just doing stuff.

Did my daily grind at Daytona - mindless and easy - but got bored and sleepy so I switched early to modding and homologating my less powerful sports cars for that WTC500 League I intend to create. Spent all day on a Golf GTi and a Toyota 86 getting them to deliver a similar lap to the RX-7 Savanna. Modded up a Clio from the UCD but was getting tired, and watching my bank account drain. Had to buy those cars and the parts for them too. This is turning into an expensive hobby, but the best way to burn a day for me when I'm not creating art music or fiction! :dopey:

Might go ahead and make those .svg decal requests for the WTC500 League.

Had to switch to Fallout 4 till bed, am pretty beat after an all niter with GT7 and a nap, go figure. Also wondering when Fanatec will send me a wheel. Frickin' California...

Decided to put one of the café-prize Supras (the 2020 model) to good use and entered it into the GTC 600, after spending probably an equal amount of credits as the potential winnings on most of the tuning parts available. Including Intermediates just in case.

Downtuned to meet the PP requirement, using the @praiano63 '97 Supra setup as a starting point. Got the machine to 599.98 PP with Sport Soft tyres and one helluva restriction on the power.

Man, I don't know how you can make these cars eligible and win the competition, I had to drive my ass off just to end up with the silver trophy, and that included using the felt-like-cheating Intermediate Tyres at the rainy RBR. In the end I had to compromise with my tyre choice at Dragon Trail to give me leeway to increase the HP and at least challenge the leaders!

Did gold in 24 minutes of Le Mans and 20 minutes of Bathurst!
Now I have all Missions golds.

Little disappointed there was no trophy for all that hard work...

Added one Trial Mountain championship and that was it for today.
I know there are Circuit Experience tracks I must do, but nothing is holding me like Licences or Missions, so I'm little afraid for further motivation.
At least you get a Chaparral 2J for your troubles.

I'm skipping my daily endurance run today, got to follow Kaz's vision of fun. Grinding for credits in the same boring repetitive races. I doubt I'll be able to scrounge up 20 mill for the Alfa Romeo in 4 days though. Would love to take that out on N24, but Kaz's greed stands in the way.

So tonight I'm lapping around Windmills while watching The Orville. Got my old tv next to the new one. Windmills is just muscle memory by now, 60K every 4 minutes, yawn. 4K HDR game on the old 1080p LCD tv, DVD season 2 on the 4K HDR tv  (can't get The Orville on blu-ray cause streaming ugh)

Purchased two cars today. Mercedes CLK and nsx gr3. I don't anticipate needing too much more ginding to get the cars I need. Started messing around with arcade mode. Intermediate difficulty translates precisely to where I am at sport mode daily race. Middle of the pack C driver. Bop. May want to spend more time here.

Finally beat the Daytona 730PP race with the Ford GT '18 Race Car. Have to do some down tuning to get it below 730PP (unlike the Vette or Jag where you can just jump right in); took a bit of messing with but found a good combo. Actually beat it twice: one race came down to a ~+1.5 and the other was +2.5. Fun stuff.

Beat the 800PP around Dragon Trail reverse. Used the NSX GT500. That car is so sick. Great on tires and great on fuel. Won by a good 20 seconds; was way easier than I thought it would be. Will likely go back and do it again with a legit Gr3 car.
I have driven all 800PP races with the Audi R18.

Acceleration and top speed are clearly inferior to GT3 cars, but cornering speed is ridiculously high.

You can also save on refueling and changing tires (RM). Almost felt like cheating.

Been doing a lot of custom races with my Gr.4 tuned C4 Corvette the last couple days. It's pretty much untouchable on high speed tracks, as you'd expect from something with a hefty V8, but I still need to work on the gearing for the more low speed technical stuff. Second gear in particular just always seems to be too short and spins away all its power, which is making dealing with chicanes an unnecessary challenge.

On the plus side, I've been getting much better at keeping control on a wet track with racing tires. You'd think a Corvette would be a terrible car to learn throttle management with, and... well, it is. But then again I learned how to drive in the snow with a '78 Ford LTD station wagon, so maybe I'm just good at adapting to these kinds of awful grip situations, I dunno.

Been working on that S-10 license trying to gold it. Managed to get silver but still 2 seconds away from gold. That test is seriously testing my patience 🤬. But in the meantime I'll keep working on it since I'm waiting for the next major update before starting with the missions and the track experience.

Today I'll probably only drive my daily kilometers, because I'm waiting for my first Simrig, which has a delay in delivery and I've already dismantled everything.

Managed to finish Dragon Trail WTC 700 with ease as it decided not to drop any rain on us.

Before this I was getting screwed over by the speed of weather changes. Max zoom out in weather radar show 100% rain coverage... Guess I had better get some wets on. Half a lap later the wind has been blowing at 500mph and the rain is now 90 miles away with 7 laps left and the AI didn't pit. LOL.

Today I got a job at the GT Auto Car Wash, it's only 1000cr and an hour but the Miata isn't going to change its own oil.

After getting screwed in the damn roulette YET AGAIN, I decided to recreate GT5’s Tuscan RM as best as possible. Turned out well, but even with some setting up it is still a bit oversteery.

Hard race slicks make it much better than with sports softs. Also tweaked the fully-customized LSD a bit as well as the fully-customized suspension.

Endurance runs are on hold for now, got to grind :/

However I finished my compilation of last weekend's 12 Endurance race, it was epic. Tons of fun.

The settings
N24 12H Endurance Settings.png
12 hours with x2 time, tires and fuel. Full day/night and 5 rain events during the race. You only get 9 slots for custom weather so they simply spread out over the total race time. That makes the clouds move at a more realistic speed as well so you can actually prepare for rain coming on the radar. At 12H you still have about 3 laps before the rain arrives.

In a 3H race the clouds move at about 900 kph, timing how long it takes for the clouds to move 50km on the weather radar. That would be over 1,300 kph for a 2H race, 2,700 kph for a 1H race. In a 2H race blotches of rain already shoot by so fast the rain doesn't have time to fall. Only big areas drop some water.

Again although I programmed in 5 rain events, 2 of them didn't drop any water at all. No rain at the end and the other R06 only produced this little blob which missed the track entirely. R04, R07 and R08 did produce rain.

All settings on hard including heavy damage, pro AI, yet since I made it multi-class against garage cars the max payout was only 56K. I sorted the starting grid on year reducing it further to 47K.

I would love to make a full GR.C grid with other classic race cars added, but alas. That will be a multi-year project at this rate. It was great to see all these cars on the track. Although that poor mini, 30 laps behind lol.

88 Laps total for the race with 20 pit stops, 7:21 best lap through traffic.

The one car I expected competition from simply rolled over during the race, TS050 4 laps behind...

Next time I need faster cars to race against, passing multiple cars each lap did keep it interesting though. Yet the speed difference with the mini was scary! (The Mini got bowled out of the way by the AI a few times )

The AI had its usual quirks. They get faster the further they fall behind. I had a great race with the 300 SL Coupe for a lap after he got the magic grip and speed boost. I chased him through the field for the whole lap, passing other cars until I could pass him on the straight. The TS050 rammed me hard one time causing engine damage. Then he simply drove off while my car was slowed down significantly in acceleration and top speed. Penalties and damage only apply to the player.

Here's a 50 minute compilation of the race, all passes, accidents, pit stops, chases, beautiful views edited together in close to 300 cuts and clips. The chase with the 300 SL Coupe is at the 35 minute mark

I saved 250 clips during the race which got me in trouble a few times. (see at 34:18) Not sure if there's a better way than pause and save a short clip. Better than sorting through hours of footage afterwards and btw there is no replay after a 12H race. I think the 8H still had a replay but after the 12H nothing. Not that it's of any use, you can only step through it at 10 sec per click...

I did the first 6 hours on Friday night, stayed up too long, didn't sleep enough and started making mistakes the next day. Including falling back in my GR.3 braking points which are too late for the final corner in the Sauber C9. I hit the wall there at least 3 times (all in the video). Not hard enough to break the engine so I continued without pitting, but enough to have to counter steer on the straights to keep going straight. Eventually I woke up enough to stop making mistakes and finished the race without further damage.

My car after the race
Sauber 685HP.png

Down to 685 HP (from 710 HP) and a net loss of 82K (48K winnings minus 130K fixings)

12H racing around the ring in the Sauber C9 in dynamic weather, priceless!

Finished off all the Missions to gold. **** DRIFTING. The Viper one at Daytona took me over 60 km worth of trying.

I don't really know what to do now. Did all the menus and all licenses and missions are gold.

Will probably do 15 circuit experiences for the trophy next, but after that? I don't really know.

I am doing something similar as to what I did in GT4 and 5. I take every car that "tickles my fancy" slap on sports soft, make sure the car is bone stock, and head to Deep Forest. I hot lap the car in cockpit view and compare the lap times of all the cars I've tried. It does give me enjoyment comparing diferent types of cars and checking out their interiors. I am thankful that you get 10 leaderboard spots for every 100 PP. In older GT's you only had 10 spots total.

How did you gold the Miata cone challenge in Moby Dick? That one I can't seem to do properly.

Ventured into Sport and Daily Race A, the Suzuka one with the slow cars....
Had fun, didn't send anyone to the 'Shadow Realm'......
Got my lap times to be consistent. (mostly)

I actually got it after maybe 10 tries, but then spent another hour trying to top my friends leaderboard. Its really just no TCS and use the handbrake. If you slide the rear of the car into a cone, it still counts.

5am, woke with a stupid foot cramp. The first thing I did was check the UCD and saw this little beauty. Snatched up two and went right to GT Auto and the Tune Shop to race mod the second one to Gr3 level. Used the GT suggestions for tuning, tweak until the PP level stopped improving, then went to Deep Valley, where I felt like a derp.

ZOMG, what a handful. It was a struggle to find traction so I tried TC1, but was still overpowering it way too easily. Put on Stability and Countersteer 1, and managed to get comfy enough to start removing assists. Still tricky so I played with the LSD a bit till it was manageable, and was finally able to zip around turns with some competence. It was still pretty easy to overpower the thing with TC1, but I managed to be within a second of my F430 at something like 1:29.5. I'm hoping Praiano makes a 700PP race tune for it.
