So Yesterday did three online race C race , finish p6 p5 p4 . Maybe i should have do three more 😉✌️. Last race at last lap not really pride of myself was fighting with 2 for p3 and one of my opponents tried two time to pass me with hard contact. Managed to resist without getting out , well third time i lost control and on his third attempt while i was inside and him ouside cutting inside and come once again on me , i put a hard push on his door pannel taking him out.
Last final turn i just let the p4 pass to avoid ruining someone else race. 🫣

This morning to get my ticket went get a Quick try at the two TT to get bronze quicky . 4star ticket gave me

Today I realised/finally admitted to myself that Kaz and the gang don't care about me/us anymore... the OGs that have been there since GT1.
Why? Because we're old... we're not the target market anymore... I mean if Sport wasn't the biggest warning of this, the state of 7 should be an eye opener.
Still less content than Sport had. Weekly events aren't new they're just making us play the same old crappy events you wouldn't touch ever again if it wasn't for the tickets they now offer. Grand Valley... one of the original iconic tracks and not only was it late to the party, it's not even recognisable anymore... so why bring it back at all? Oh and the lack of actual races... instead more of this start 30+ seconds down with 5-7 laps to chase down in an OP car compared to the rest of the field.
Nope, they want the kids on it who want nothing but instant gratification, are willing to throw every penny and every spare moment they have at the game, going online, streaming content etc etc. Sure there's less micro transactions than 6 & Sport but they're there still.
The series peaked at 4 and it's been more or less downhill from there, dwindling content, sloppy AI, less and less racing. They promised the world with GT7 and underdelivered, 8 will be no different, the best us OGs can hope for is a remake/port of one of the originals, which will never happen.
But don't worry I'll be back on next week for an hour when the next 5 rehashed events drop and no doubt another underwhelming update, while I try and fall back into denial that Gran Turismo as we use to know it is long dead. 😮‍💨
Rant over, enjoy your weekend.
Which is why GT7 will 90% be my last Gt game.

Did the rest of the Weekly Challenge race except for the SF race. Just don't have a fast enough pace right now also it was very late and I didn't want to put the work to finish it. Took the CLK GTR to Sardegna. Got 10k cr from a ⭐⭐⭐🎫

Created a secondary account to restart GT7, this time aiming to do it with no assists and manual gears, and no selling cars unless they're duplicates.

Completed the first few races and received the 'thank you' ticket that we all got for GT Sport being delisted.

Opened the ticket and won the Hyundai Vision GT car, instantly pushing me from collector level 1 to 8. Going to avoid using that for the open races!

Completed the B license. Fun fact - those marker cones that a lot of us miss from GT Sport, the ones that indicate suggested braking points... They're present in the first few tests, but no-where else in the game!

As a late day update - it's my birthday in a week, and so furthering it's attempts to ruin the early game for me, I was awarded the GR3 Viper. I will not use it, game! I will work my way through the early game in PP relevant cars!

Hi I just updated to Windows 11. Now when I click on a spoiler link in the

AWRacing - Tune Garage

I get media not found. Any idea what i need to do?

On the GTP account, after getting a 1:30.4 in the Civic time trial (which should be a solid silver), I got my FOURTH 3-star Wheel of Despair in a row, SIXTH of 13 on this account this year, and pending the Plus run, ELEVENTH of 25 between the two accounts this year. At least the all-cash wheel gave the middle-showing/2nd-highest-possible 100,000 Cr. this time.

I then did a bit of practice for the GTWS, setting a time of just under 1:18.0. As the 9 am CST slot disappeared, I went to the Plus account to do some daily racing with rentals. First was the Maserati MC20 at Red Bull. My usual no-qualifying strategy got me 10th of 11 (2nd of 3 non-qualifiers) in an all-D room with a mix of SR. I kept it clean, though not always on the track, for a 7th-place finish.

I then rented a BMW M6 Sprint at Laguna Seca. In an all-D/mixed SR room, I started 15th/last, last of 3 who didn't take a time. I had no pace, and because I waited up for somebody I might have nudged at the entrance to the Corkscrew, I ended up 10th instead of perhaps 7th. The reason I said "might" was the race was deemed clean. The stewards still refused to demote me back to E DR.

I didn't have enough time to do Race C before the first GTWS slot of the day, so I took my 4-star Wheel of Despair, with its lowest-possible 10,000 Cr. At least it wasn't yet another 3-star.

Back on the GTP account for the GTWS race, I wore number 1 in a 15-D/S driver room with 11 points for the winner and 2nd place. Still, I didn't qualify, as my plan was to start on medium tires and run those for 3 laps. The fast qualifier was 1:18.0, with 2nd a second off. The full write-up is on the GTWS thread, but I came home in 3rd, quite a bit off the leader's time.

Rather than grind for credits or run a daily race (which would put me at 50 and a platinum trophy) on the GTP account, I went back to the Plus account for Daily C, and because doing the 3 daily races every week would eventually put me at 49 instead of an even 50, and because I screwed up the strategy, another Daily C run. In the first race, I rented an Alfa Romeo 4C at Grand Valley, starting 14th/last, and 2nd of 2 who didn't qualify in an all-D/mixed SR room as somebody dropped out before the race began. I almost forgot I had to run hard tires, and I had no pace even on mediums (I was 10 seconds a lap off most of the field), so I only gained 1 position on track and a pair from dropouts, finishing 11th.

The second run, I decided to no-stop the hard tires on the Alfa to see if my lack of performance will finally drop me back to E DR. This time, I was 15th/last, and the only non-qualifier in a mixed C/D room. Thanks to a pair of no-hard-tire penalties, and no thanks to a monitor that blanked out, I got 8th and the tiniest bit of DR improvement.

Well tonight runned 3 race C for P4, P2 , P3 result.Also did slightly improve my qt.
Elie Ask for a drive and wanted to run the Tomahawk at highspeed give us opportunité for a wild picture

Finally got back to completing cafe books today. The big one was the WTC 600 championship. On hard this is a very challenging series! I don't really like how they establish "hard" in this game...which in the case of this race is putting the AI so far in front and then adjusting their pace the closer you get. At Suzuka its no problem to gain 12 seconds on first place on the first lap...only for that to go down to maybe 7 seconds on the second lap...then 2 on the next lap...and 1 on the fourth lap, and on the final lap they basically match your pace. It doesn't feel real, and it doesn't feel fair.

My first attempt was with a bone stock Ferrari F430. At Redbull Ring I got third, at Suzuka I got 3rd and I didn't bother with Dragon Trail because I wasn't going to win. This is a very fun car and you can push it very hard. However, it's too balanced to be a real weapon on any of the circuits here.

Second attempt was with the 2019 Supra Race car. Slightly downtuned on intermediates for Redbull Ring and Sport Softs for the other two. I managed to jump out front at Redbull Ring and win it although the RE RX-7 was coming back fast once the circuit started to dry. I only could manage 3rd at Suzuka. Crazy that you start 40 seconds back on the AI in a 5 lap race, and by lap 5 the AI has increased their pace by 8 seconds. Ended up coming in 3rd on Dragon Trail too, which put me 2nd overall. The car is good but can be a little tricky on the limit with the sports tires and doesn't quite get the power down out of lower speed corners. It also just doesn't have quite the haul-assery I think is needed for this event. Annoyed.

Then I got my R32 GTR, put some sport softs on it + close ratio gearbox + brake pads, and gave it as much power as I could while keeping it under 600pp, which was around 500hp. No additional tuning.
  • On intermediates at Redbull Ring, I annihilated the field, taking first at the start of the third lap and putting another 55 seconds into them by the end. The rain held out to the end which definitely was part of it.
  • At Suzuka the GTR felt really stable and with the stock suspension, you can really attack the curbs. I was lapping in the low 2:16s and high 2:15s and was able to secure first at the beginning of the final lap and held on to win with a margin of 4 seconds or so.
  • At Dragon Trail it was more of the same. I'm a novice at this track so there was some sloppy driving, but the GTR takes that in stride and you can just lean on everything (brakes, engine, chassis, awd system) to get you around. Again, the stock suspension is great here for being very aggressive with the curbs, particularly at the chicane. This was the closest race and I managed to pass the first place Supra coming out of the final chicane, lock down the inside of the final corner and then comfortably blast down the finish straight for a margin of around 2 seconds. Bonus - I passed the AMG Merc, on the outside, during a 4 wheel powerslide coming out of one of the hairpins because I blew the braking zone and had to hand brake turn to get the car pointed in the right direction. You can do that in the GTR. This car is a lot more fun than I expected, it really rotates when you need it to and just seems to monster everything. I've used R32 GTRs in plenty of racing games, but I've never felt that it was being represented well...in GT7 it definitely does feel that way.
Aside from the Clubman+ events, this is the hardest race I've attempted in GT7 so far.

As I was bumping the credit cap, I bought 2 Challengers, swapped one and maxed out the other. Ran both at LeMans. Bought two M3's, ('89 and '03) and maxed them out. Ran a bunch of small races with them at various tracks. That 1989 M3 is a great car, so responsive. Ran some Ferrari races with the Dino. Ran some TT's with the Civic. Got a Sport Exhaust for a BMW Safety car from the wheel. I can say that I'll never buy a safety car of any type.

As I logged in the time trial thread, I ran the RX8 on Nurburgring but with not a great improvement. 2:26,0 at the moment and I think I'll quit it. On the other hand, I loved the Civic/Maggiore combo.

Ran LeMans once with a power restricted Beetle Gr3 for the usual money (Mclaren purposes)

Finished a livery for this lovely funny speedy car.

1. Had 2 funny online races with 2 great friends (The Turtle Team) on High Speed Ring

2. Golded 2 missions:
  • SRT Tomahawk - was a bit tricky to understand how to drive this "thing" and where to go through the traffic.
  • Porsche 919 Hybrid - only 2 attempts to win this race on one of the most fabulous track ever 🥰

Still 3 missions to gold: Nissan GT500, Subaru BRZ Drift and Lago Maggiore GR.3

3. Visited Le Mans for credits reasons :sly:

I took the Vanquish to LeSarthe. Got 500k cr from a ⭐⭐⭐⭐🎫. So I used that to buy my 2nd Shelby. Liked the color so much I bought the paint to use on other cars. I put a different set of rims on but other that I will keep this one stock.

Today was an interesting GT session:

1 - Tackled the new TT at Maggiore for the CIVIC Touring car, but didnt improve my time but went airborne when hitting a doughnut see in photo below. good VTEC fun!
2 - Then went over to the weekly challenges and did the 4th race of the Mount panoroma Race in my Hellcat safety car, got roulette ticket 4 star! neetted liek 30k tokens.
3 - After that, moved onto the last weekly challnge races, Super Formula at Watkins Glen, was a very good race but the AI deciede to copy rammers and be an total a-hole at turn 1 on lap 5 and pitted me, had to claw it back and acheived 2nd place with a pit also.
4 - Won the last ticket for that challenges and netted a NISSAN GTR GT500 but sold and noticed that wehn you seel cars now, you can see the tuning value also within the car, (see photo below), which is kinda cool as it can bump up your valuation for the car at the UCD.
5 - Jumped back in to my SUPRA RZ '97 which was purple and tuned it a bit more as its a V12 now, Huayra packaged lol, and went to ultimate tune it and give it a lovely TOP Secret livery. Very swish and quick shakedown at Special Stage Route X hitting 273mph!
6 - Lastly did Daily Race C online again in the MAZDA 3 Gr.3 touring and got shunted by sum mug at 4th corner before the tunnel on the reverse layout and got engine damage, managed to claw it back to 3rd then pitted on 8th lap, and eventually came 8th overall. Bonus points for the DR ranking.

Overall cool, but these pesky rammers need more serious banning, and PD need to address the penalty system in a Q1 update. I get stupid penalty on online races for cutting pit lanes when the AI taking my car over cant drive!

Did a fun custom race at the Nurburgring today.

Race setup -
10 laps
Time of day: Dawn
Weather: Cloudy with rain
Time: 1x
Tire Wear: 1x
Fuel: 1x
Difficulty: Professional
Competitors: 20
Starting Position: 20

My car: 2022 Subaru BRZ with sport soft tires and semi racing exhaust, otherwise stock

Field: TVR Tuscan, Ferrari Daytona (x2), Radical SR3 etc

The Tuscan and the Daytonas were fast. The BRZ isn't exactly slow, but they were putting 5+ seconds on me on every straight. I got up to third place pretty easily, but it was a battle to get past the Daytonas and then I had to hunt down the Tuscan. The Tuscan has 360hp and weighs 2400lbs. My BRZ is 400lbs heavier and has 110 less hp. The AI isn't very fast from Fuchsröhre to Ex Muhle and from the Karusell to Dottinger Hohe so I had to nail these sections to catch up. Ended up catching the Tuscan on lap 4 and steadily put time into it to the end, up to 11 seconds or so at one point. Race lasted 80 mins and I didn't need to pit for fuel or tires. The Tuscan surprisingly didn't either. Both Daytonas pitted on lap 9

Not the most efficient way to make money, but it was still a nice $350k payout for first.

Annoyingly it didn't rain at all, except for literally 5 seconds. Whats up with that? I figure if you select rain, it would rain at least a little bit. Is this a bug or am I missing something?

Daily Workout at Route X in Tomohawk VGT , 4 star ticket, Invite for Aston Martin, Dang 2 Ferrari invites and now this, It's a Lamborghini Invite I need for the Veneno, Serves me right for putting it up for sale :)

Did a few rounds of Sardegna and a round of Spa. I feel like I’m the GT7 equivalent of institutionalized because my first instinct is to do the grind races. I really need to do some custom races and other stuff next time I play.
