What did you do in GT7 today?

I warmed up on the GTP account with a wet run at Sarthe in the Renault Megane. It takes a bit more rain for slick-shod AI drivers to forget how to drive, but once the track is more than half wet, they're useless. The SEVENTH 3-star Wheel of Despair of only 15, and pending the Plus run, 11th of 29, this year puked up the low-showing 10,000 Cr.

I dilly-dallied around and missed the 10 am CST GT3 GTWS slot, so I bought a pair of Nismo 400Rs for engine purposes, widening one of them.

I then popped onto the Plus account and rented a GR86 for Daily Race C. I started 15th/last (last of 4 non-qualifiers) in a mostly-C room. Thanks to clean driving, rage quits, and carnage, I finished 8th of 11 who took the checkered flag, 2nd of the D drivers.

I didn't have the mileage for the Wheel of Despair, nor the time to get it, so I went back to the GTP account for the 11 am CST slot. I wore door #11 (should have been 10, but for some reason, there was a #16) in a 15-car room that had some C drivers (3 C and 1 E SR) in addition to the usual D/S ones. While I finished a forgettable 12th (most of the drivers didn't maximize turn 1, while I was rubbish everywhere else), I did improve my overall point total by 2.

I went back to the Plus account and rented the elderly Porsche Spyder for Daily Race A, starting 10th/last (2nd of non-qualifiers), in a mostly-D room. I got punted out of 9th in the tight-right hander on the last lap, with the penalty served by the rammer barely getting me back to 9th.

To finish the day, I rented a Ford Mustang Gr.4 for Daily Race B. In a mixed C/D room, I started 16th/last, the only non-qualifier. I had no pace, but at least I kept it clean and on the track, finishing 11th among the 14 who took the checkered and getting rid of the last bit of D DR bar.

At least I didn't get yet another 3-star Wheel of Despair, though the 4-star's Porsche invite (the second this year) was worse.

You did what!?

I'm going to start a petition to have the engine swap for the 400R removed from the game, and by jolly PD better do it! That car has been #1 dream car since the first GT... And you're over there just ripping the heart out of it!

...

the Nismo 400R THAT WILL BE KEPT PRESTINE AND STOCK.
I totally second this message!

After reading this, I will definitely do the 400R swap

The idea of tossing out the V12 out the 250 GTO for a V8 or turbo 6 makes me giggle. I'd totally K-Swap a Cobra too.

The more unholy, the better:mischievous:

So finally today after a month and a bit got to lvl 50 like 3 days ago then this morning at 2 o clock in the morning i saw a red flag on top of my legendary cars and i was like there is noooooo way , firstly there were no cars sold out so i assumed they wont change the roster but after a nice grind on cod i checked in on the game and boom the car ive been waiting for since i installed it❤️i was flabbergasted

On my primary account I ran a Nation's race (Q5 to P12), a few Daily B races (average P12), and spent a few hours running practice races at Atlanta trying to adjust my rig settings only to realize the starting settings were what works for me. Alternate account was just enough to get the daily ticket.

Anyway...

Last night in GT7 I continued to work through some menu books on the secondary account, including the WT600 championship. At 1.1mill credits I remembered the track experience and cranked out a few to put myself at around 2mill.

And promptly went to the legendary dealership and purchased the Nismo 400R THAT WILL BE KEPT PRESTINE AND STOCK.
I have 3 of them, 1 is stock. The one I swapped had a salvage title and was stripped of its drivetrain by thieves. So no harm done.😉

Bought two more Levins, swapped one of them and ran LeMans with it. Great car swapped. Bought the ‘19 and a ‘20 Supras and swapped them. Ran LeMans with the ‘19. Also excellent. Ran Monza and Tokyo VGT races. I tried using the new Genesis. I hate that thing so much that I sold it. I wound up using the Bugatti VGT. Got 10k from the wheel.

Daily workout at Route X - 5star ticket, was praying for a Lamborghini invite and lo and behold it was on the spin around and landed on it, Got the Veneno I was needing :) , I have 4 invites active, Just Need the F50 showing up in Legends to complete the collection, Another car I had but sold lol

I did a run up through tires in a Subaru STI to see how the dirt tire on asphalt compared to every tire from CH-SS. I've always thought they seemed terrible and wanted to see for myself. I isolated the same corner on the Rally-Cross and one of the shorter Catalunya layouts, and went to town playing with corner speed and lot of forced sliding/e-brake turns. It's super scientific...

My consensus is that the dirt tire on asphalt is like a comfort hard/medium with greatly reduced lateral grip, and the steering feel/force turned down to 1. They can match the corner speeds of the comforts, but they're not as laterally grippy or responsive.

At the end it was just a super fun time hooning the STI around in VR!

Slowly working towards completion... After the weekly challenges I can pretty much sum it up as this:

Events

  • Trial Mountain -- Motul Autech GT-R @ 836 PP
  • Autopolis -- Xanavi Nismo GT-R @ 828 PP
Cars Bought/Sold
  • Xanavi Nismo GT-R GT500 '08 (Bought)
  • Honda RA272 (Bought)
  • Tomahawk X VGT (Sold)
Roulette Prize
  • Racing Crankshaft for Mazda3
--
Of course, the car from '08 is infinitely more fun than its newer counterpart.

Hopefully, someday I won't be forced into using a turbo to keep it competitive. Just give me an extra-smooth power curve and I will be happy.

Did the last race in the Weekly Challenge with a swapped Jag. I won very easily with a horrible pit strategy. I pitted after lap 2 and put on inters as the rain started coming down. I had on the next lap be it was really heavy and there was some skidding involved. Switched to Wets and I kept them until lap 8 when I switched back to inters to finish the race. Did the Civic race with Civic Race car. Started on the GVH with Suzuki VGT which works really well on this race but I didn't finish as I got sleepy 😴. Got a ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 🎫 which I didn't open yet because of sleepiness

Not much time to play the game this week, but today I:

  • completed the weekly challenges,
  • bought a Skyline Silhouette (as a special pick) from the LCD,
  • completed the Nissan extra menu. The 6 star ticket for it gave me 1M.

All of this gave me around 2M credits. It was a good day.

Checking off some unfinished events. And after each event i do the corresponding circuit experience ✅

Wish someone would've warned me for the last sector of Le mans in circuit experience tho 😱

Edit: just golded the Le Mans CE full track... Goal is 3:22:000 and i did 3:21:979 - talk about cutting it close 😅😂

Punted Sanz and his "yeah, that's totally under 600PP" AMG.

I know that certain opponents are setup to be more challenging and will suddenly improve once you pass them, but Sanz in that freaking Merc was annoying as hell. After 3 attempts, watching him suddenly accelerate stupendously as soon as I pass him, to basically walk off with the win, I decided that if the game is going to have dumb rubber-banding mechanics like this, Sanz needs to eat barrier. After punting him wide and into the barrier with 2 laps left, and racing those laps damn near perfect, I still only beat him by 1.5 seconds.

You know the AI needs extra help to be a nuisance and be a moving road block
😁
They also have those blue flags that signal them to weave in and out of your racing line. However, they don’t need any flags to brake-check you.🙂

Today was a relaxing day building 2 different non-GR B Rally race cars. I built up the Alpine A110 and Abarth A112 as Rally racers then tested them on the Lake Louis snow tracks. Had a great time adjusting the suspensions in between races to get a better race car AND learn more about tuning (which I know very little on). My next goal is to try the 2 on dirt tracks.

To reference a previous post, tuning cars definitely made for better racing today. I should try this on the Jimny next.

I havent seen anything convincing enough to me that there is any rubber banding in this game - outside of the boost option that can be enabled in custom races.

Instead the AI simply doesnt go full throttle all the time and maybe when it looks like rubber banding they simply may use 100% throttle?
I dont really care about it, no benefit in thinking about it at all.

On the GTP account, the Nations Cup wasn't as lucrative as the Manufacturers Cup, as I only got bronze prizes for a total of 750,000 Cr. It was back to the Sardegna grind, with the Porsche 911 RSR in honor of their overall win at Daytona. It took 3 no-tire and speed into the pits tries to beat SuperFraga (he had sub-1:42 fast laps in his first stint, with a sub-1:41 the third time through - I dilly-dallied too much on the first attempt, I ran out of fuel trying a 1-stop strategy the second time, and I got breaks from lapped traffic and did some major blocking the third time).

All of that was for a parts ticket, which is arguably even worse than the seven 3-stars out of 15 I had going into the day. That popped out a Bore Up S for the Mazda3 (not the Gr.4 either). At least I didn't already have 2, or even 1, of those.

On the Plus account, I went with the newer Mercedes-AMG GT3 as that won the GTD Pro-Am class. I was SuperEgg, turning multiple sub-1:41 laps and finishing in a time I never saw out of SuperFraga (on normal difficulty, at least). The all-cash 4-star Wheel of Despair gave the middle-showing/2nd-lowest-legal 30,000 Cr.

Bought another Nismo 400, retuned the 190E Swap with Mr.P’s tune and ran LeMans with each. Ran Deep forest and Trial Mountain a bit with them, too. For those Nismo 400 enthusiasts out there, (you know who you are 😉), I did NOT swap it, just tried various tunes. What a great car with Mr.P’s tune. Got the shafts from the wheel.

Did an early morning race at la sarthe to get the daily ticket and open 16 tickets after that with a medium outcome i can say.
Went out and return in time for the Turtle race at Class of Titans 😂
The Titans is me @Pesselles , @Gorefast and @Lomic .

3 races at big willow with a Bop NSX gr2 and the " rattlesnake " we all fear was Daniel San @Pesselles .

Very enjoyable and clean races and hopefully the rattlesnake didn't manage to bite us all as he could 😂

Late noon i took a veneno at la sarthe once and that's all.

Any of my friends -and not only - that like to take a part at our Turtle race that took part every Sunday at midday, can send a pm to me or @Pesselles ( is the host ) for details.
The members are choosing the track and car in rotary order and we are average drivers ( silver mostly at TT's ) .
Thats why is the Silver Turtle racing team

I finished off the WC. I used the Suzuki VGT for the 700 pp race and my swapped S14 with the Corvette engine. I forget maxxed out this build so in order to drive it safely I had to put TC to 5. I have do some detuning to make it workable. It shame because I think it has my favorite livery that I made. I finshed with 25.4 miles so I went back into the Silvia Sisters race and did just enough to get my mileage. Got a 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟🎫 and got a Lambo VGT. I didn't sell it yet because I wanted to test it out

I may have trouble sitting down for the rest of the evening after having my backside repeatedly whipped by the AI in the Gr.3 Cup races.

And to add insult to injury, I got yet another 3* ticket (third in a row...) for my trouble which, aptly enough, gave me a useless exhaust pipe.

Give that man a dram of Scottish Water !!

Got a lot of GT7 in yesterday and today, going over 1000km daily miles yesterday 🙈 golded a lot of CE's, golded the genesis time trial and further progressed my completion with some license tests/events :-)
